They need to build their fan base, and then gradually increase ticket prices. Women's football is family friendly, you aren't going to get a family of 4 going to the women's games at men's top league prices. Get your head out of the sand.

yeah, watching this vid just now, after some time has passed, the goals going in during the knock out stages especially were certified bangers and England led the way

.. watching these goals, one word immediately springs to mind - FUN! These international female heroes are having the time of their lives after scoring a goal. Is it the change of family-orientated match-goes that causes this (my view). Barring the Final, the sportsmanship of both sides 'seemed' really good in most matches at this tournament. Being 2nd gen English, I've just loved watching any match I could. Happy for England, just too many disappointments since '66. Wishing for younger girls/women to dream and start playing this hugely developed women's football game...

@@iamme4322 We have qualified , and will qualify top of group. For Austria to win the group , they have to beat England in Vienna ( possible ) and beat their last team ( probable ). And we would have to lose, against luxembourg ( well, anyting is possible, but we beat them 10-0 away , so ....... )

Women football is very entertaining as long as people drop their discrimination against women in sports!! These ladies are talented and amazing on all levels. They had people hating and disregarding them because of their gender and overcame it! Such wonderful achievement this summer for these ladies. They deserve more recognition ❤️❤️❤️

Yeah first goal in the final was from Ella Toone who plays for Manchester United and then second goal was Chloe Kelly’s and she plays for Manchester City

Looking back on this nearly a year on: England were deserving winners. Yes they were outplayed at times by Germany and Spain but they found ways to win. Wiegman was streets ahead of all other coaches. No way they beat Spain or Germany with Phil Neville at coach. Beth Mead won player of the tournament, but it should have easily been Kiera Walsh. Williamson, Mead and Kirby will be huge misses in Australia though. Germany's time will come. They're still a fairly young team and their young talent is probably greater than that of their rivals. Feel for Popp that she had to miss the final. Oberdorf is some player for her age. They're my favourites to win the World Cup this year. France had the best squad on paper, but were held back by an arrogant bully of a head coach who put her ego first. I don't know if Renard, Katoto, Henry and Le Sommer are going to Australia and NZ, but it's a disgrace the FFF backed Diacre for so long. Can't help but feel as if these Euros were Sweden's last chance. The talent they have is undeniable but they're beginning to age. Having so many players with over 100 caps is great but I can't help but wonder what talent is coming through? Spain can use the excuses of no Putellas or Hermoso but they still should have won the tournament. They beat England then no doubt Bonmati is player of the tournament, only player who neutralised Walsh on her own. No surprises they also had an arrogant bully of a head coach. Only difference is Vilda isn't going anywhere because he's the son of a high-ranking RFEF executive. The Netherlands were always going to struggle without Wiegman, but Mark Parsons was a total hack. You know it's not good when Jackie Groenen is criticising you in the middle of a tournament you're still in. Outside of van Domselaar were there any positives besides Parsons getting sacked? Austria proved that they're bloody tough to beat, that midfield in particular is very, very good, Took two huge mistakes from a usually reliable keeper for Germany to beat them. Belgium overachieved massively. Mostly because of Nicky Evrard. Without doubt the best performance of the tournament, she didn't deserve to be on the losing side against Sweden. Norway, what a disgrace. Awful tactics (who plays a winger like Blakstad at LB!), awful performances, just an awful tournament all round. Wonder if Ada is regretting coming back. At the very least Hege Riise is a huge upgrade over Sjogren, although that's not saying much. Northern Ireland did an amazing job just making it this far. Group stages were always going to be too much for them, Magill's injury made life even tougher for them. Denmark were in a tough group, but I really expected more from them. Germany blew them away, they were lucky against Finland, and they created next to nothing against Spain. Harder had a decent tournament but nobody else really stood out. Finland were in the same boat as Northern Ireland, qualifying for the finals was the big achievement. Although that goal against Spain was one of the moments of the tournament. I don't think I've seen a team worse at defending set pieces than Portugal. Every time a corner came in I thought they'd concede. Weird because they actually threatened loads from their own set pieces! Switzerland were really unlucky in all of their games. Had chances to win all of them. Bachmann was brilliant as usual. One point yet they'd have still made a better game against France than the Netherlands did. Iceland overachieved yet I still feel they'll be gutted they didn't make the quarter finals. Could have easily beaten Italy and Belgium, and had their chances against France too. Think they'd have given Sweden trouble too. Italy had no consistency. Got smashed by France, missed chance after chance against Iceland, then laid a massive egg against Belgium when they had to deliver. Not a great tournament for them. VAR was very inconsistent. Tysiak's handball/second yellow against France, Gama's overturned red (also against France), Bronze's header against Sweden, the France-Iceland penalty at the end of the game all stand out. Standard needs to improve for the WC but after seeing how far behind certain confederations were with their referees (here's looking at you, Asia) I fear it won't be. Was a great tournament. Too many empty seats for my liking in certain grounds, but great atmospheres at others (Bramall Lane and Leigh Sports Village in particular). Seeing Wembley full for the final was a great ending to a great spectacle.

This particular selection reveals the excellence of all these teams in closing a play. It is a little disturbing that, by a conservative count, fifteen goals (nearly 16%) were allowed through apparent goalkeeper error. But the flip side is the high number of excellent headers, as a comment below points out, and the excellent crosses from the right side. This is good football, period, and it is good to focus on this achievement instead of the poor play that usually dominates videos of women's matches. As for the repetitive nature of the scoring plays, that will change when the goalkeeping has evolved as it has in the men's game.

Especially since the Men's World Cup has been going on 60 years longer. All those extra decades add a lot of development and skill to the sport. Women's talent is exploding even more rapidly. It's great to see. I really want to buy tickets for a women's game soon.

England scored 22 and conceded 2 over the tournament Germany scored 14 and conceded 3 England had more shots on target than germany in the final. And most importantly, England scored more goals than germany did in the final. Not sure how you think Germany should have won?

If top men's teams could use superior opposition in their training, they'd do it too. That's like saying men are rubbish at chess because they lose to computers, the best games are only when computers play each other.

Slow, boring and at times comical. Why anyone would want to invest time in an inferior version of the sport is beyond me.
