What's even more impressive is that they aren't as tall as male goalkeepers, which makes some of these saves really incredible

Didn't realize what an astonishing job Mary Earps has done until now, those where some incredible saves & she made no mistake in the whole tournament. Also worth noting that most of these saves were from the playoffs, which proves how important good goalkeepers are

@@unknownuser_4245 You've obviously never played in goal. One of the Germans really left her foot in when she could(and should) have jumped over her. Keepers always stay down for a breather and to collect themslves and make sure no oponent is lurking behind them. It's easy to leap up when you are actually concussed, (or adrenalin is numbing the pain) which is a big mistake.

Merle is actually playing like a modern goalie, like Neuer f.e., in some situations she was almost a sweeper and tackled or got in the way of good passes. Not all the time, but in some situations and she was the only female goalie i´ve seen in this tournament actually doing something like this... But best goalie was Evrard from Belgium for me personally she had A LOT to do and saved a lot of good shots, it was her tournament, even though they were eliminated earlier than Frohms and Earps

Earps is better. Goal keeper of the tournament and the golden glove winner. Frohms conceded the same amount of goals in the final as Earps did the the whole tournament.

It's great to see the GK game getting better in the women's' game. It's always been the weakest position but it's improving dramatically. Considering the average height of the female GK and the size of the posts they're all doing pretty amazing!

Merle Frohms was the best of the group.

I have to disagree, throughout the tournament there were horrible mistakes by female goalies! Midfield and strikers from every country in this tournament were at a good or AWESOME level... But what really divided an good team from an AWESOME team were the defenders and goalies, there was a big gap IMO

@@Slippy6582 Compare it to 2017. Even the amateur goalie of Belgium made amazing saves and penalty saves. Northern Ireland’s goalkeeper made surprising saves, and Iceland’s is not the worst too.

@@CMJames Ah, that goalkeeper from Sweden is actually really good. I have no idea what happened to her lol. It is possible for the best to have bad days even. I loved watching the Dutch and English goalkeepers. Just awesome.
