Serimosa tells of the electric notion of the coming of a great power. The appearance of cracks in the dam that holds the flood of the great sea. A visitor from the beyond, crossing the threshold into the material world.
Just like "Watain", Serimosa is a word/name of power communicated out of unknown origin, appearing into the world sans history, to be approached with thought and reverence. Its linguistic root may be traced from the latin word Seri ("serum") along with Dolorosa ("pain") Nebulosa ("starfog") Lacrimosa ("tearfilled"), as if those words and their meanings were spoken as one. In her hand she holds the stern light of renewal, of transformation, of merciless cleansing. Thematically, Serimosa also holds similarities to the fiery Samhara aspect of Nataraja, the doomsday dance of Shiva marking the dissolution of order at the end of an eon.

What I love about Watain is that they can write a passionate and emotional song, yet never fall short from their dark and evil sound. They did it with They Rode On, and now they've outdone themselves once again. Forever my favorite black metal band.

They rode on was a fucking joke. The scorpions would not wash their cock with that song. This is much better but still not enough to be forgiven for the mistake that was 'the wild hunt'.

@r33mote I haven't heard the latest one but I enjoyed WTE. It ordinary, but decent. What I despise about TWH is that you can feel the insincerity in their music and delivery. Not only that l, but ai heard other bands doing the same thing before, and a lot better (ballads, slow songs, different style from what they were known for etc). But yes, I agree with the last part of your comment.
Watain has been such an amazing journey for me to discover my darker spiritual self and learn to cope with my fears

@@goatbloodfetish I thought it was so fucking awesome when I heard Erik say they recorded this album live. I love all of Watain's work and regardless of recording style there is an alive, dark and primal energy present in everything they do. But the fact that this record was done live gives that energy a truly palpable quality and it makes so much sense given what Watain is. Truly one of the greatest voices given to the spirit of black metal.
Musically Watain is just on another level. They are at the absolute forefront when it comes to creating atmospheres one can completely immerse in. They can do this haunting, eerie thing just as perfectly as the ferocious, predatory, unchained outburst thing. They are also very good in combining the two. They are like a giant emotional avalanche that just carries you along. Their unique sound is also like the perfect balance between raw/oldschool and modern.

This is a great song with a lovely and darkened ambience. maybe it's poiting to a new level that Watain can reach easily. They're a drinving force on the genre today, and this song shows the reason for it.
