I think these machines are some of the nicest looking top loaders on the market. Just wish Whirlpool would do something to make that wash plate more effective. It's barely speed bumps with a huge giant tub that can't move water unless the level is very low. I would consider one of these if it wasn't for that.

Thank you for this review. I need a new washer and dryer and it is a nightmare just trying to figure which one is the most reliable and durable. So far, I did quite an extensive research which leads me back to this one. Your video confirmed that I would make a good choice. My only worry is these new digital panels...I hope and pray they do not cause me a headache if they break, wondering about the cost of replacement if it breaks down the road. I am old fashioned and love the knobs, but this brand and model seems to really be a good and reliable machine.

For your concern, please watch my video "Washing machine Whirpool WTW5105HW - How to install". After 7:00 minute mark. it will talk about leveling of machine by using level and adjusting legs of machine as necessery. I did not need to do any adjustments to show in video, but it is simple if you need it. Read your level and do it front to back and side to side. Good luck.

we've had this model in our home for almost a year now when we moved. Prior to that we had an old washer (I can't remember the brand name) but I cannot stress how much I miss the old washer. As many others have mentioned, these new machines don't fill up with water as they used to and the washing cycle feels so incomplete and lacking; it's as if the agitator isn't there at all! It's so frustrating. Oh and don't even get me started on the stains and residues left over on clothes.

@@averagemaintenance3875 I see it has a button for deep water can't you use it and fill the tub up with the water amount you need? I was considering this washer but not so sure now. I defintely need deep water that covers above the clothes by a few inches so it can move around well. My GE just died and I loved it so much. Repairmen said it would cost $700 to fix it so we decided to buy new. Will it wash a Queen size quilt? The tub looks small to me.

@@AmericanWoman1 I never tried to use fill button to increase water level, but I understand your frustration with stains. We don't use quick wash, just normal, to avoid issues with stains.

I have the same exact model. Had it since early January. So far it's not too bad. The powder soap get clumpy and will leave soap residue on your clothes. Obviously it's more noticeable with dark clothes. We've tried the deep water level but still seem to get soap residue left on the clothes. Not sure if the agitator is aggressive enough to wash the clothes really good. Notice 7:29 how the clothes don't really move around much to get a thorough wash? Old washer machines seem to do a better job at washing while these clothes seem to really sit in a pool of water without much rubbing of the clothes together. After we're done with our powder soap, we'll switch on over to the liquid detergent to see if there's a difference.

Just bought this model.The agitation doesn’t really WASH like they use to! It’s so slow! I remember when it washed the water would slosh everywhere. Then when it drains, the back panel with bounce in and out frantically and if you don’t have that tie wrap on the drain hose water would be every where! Wondering how long what ever making the back panel bounce back and forth like that will last.Ever watch the back of the washer when it spins and drains.How the back panel bounces back and forth and look at that tie wrap on the drain hose! Let me know your thoughts! Thanks for letting me vent!

Check the cycle you are using. I think the agitator changes speed depending upon weight and water fill.

Today is Jan 27. 2024. Lowe's Home delivered our new Whirlpool exactly like the one in your video. The 2 delivery men took off the Magtag Set I had for 18 years looked brand new and both still worked. The washer had started jumping and knocking around horribly the last month even though we rebalanced it, the machine kept doing it so I bought the Whirlpool set. Only had it like 6 hours so far and I HATE IT! The washer sounds like a transmission dragging on concrete or a Cement mixer. It knocks and makes screeching noises, the dryer is okay. This washer is so complicated to use It's mind boggling to say the least and without any instruction manual is insane. The delivery guys said, it did not come with any manuals anymore like they used to. 😢 I was told I had 30 days to try this out an if I didn't like it they would take it back. Guess how I'm leaning so far 😱🥺

New things now days are definitely different than they used to be. I understand you don't like it, if it is making noise you say. I did not like it either and gifted my when had opportunity. Purchased new one from Whirlpool again and I like it. You can check my video about it from couple of months ago. I am surprised about manual, which I had come with it. You can try to find manual online searching by model number and print it, if you decide to keep washer.See below. Looks like you pretty much decided what you are going to do. I have a problem with draining, it won’t drain unless I pull the hose out and manually drain it by holding the hose down into a bucket. I don’t know if the pump is giving up? I only have the washer for over a year.

I am sorry to hear that you have issues with one year old washer. I did not have experience with not draining. But you are right, could be pump. It is hard to diagnose it without knowing some things like where your drain is, what kind of detergent you use, and did you clogged it with something, etc. I recommend that you watch some other videos that address "no drain" issue before you call service man. There are some videos outhtere. Good luck.

Thanks for watching my video. I am not familiar with "Whirlpool 4gwtw3000fw", only with above reviewed washer that I purchased and wanted to share my opinion. You could find videos and reviews for the washer that you are interested in and see what people think about it.

I'm not in the market for a new washer at the moment, but when I am (hopefully not for a long time!) I'll give Whirlpool a look. Of course, my wife gets the last say, so we'll see...

What did you do when you had a f8e1 error code on your screen? I just bought this washer and does not explain into detail what exactly to do.

Thank you for watching my video. I did not have "f8e1" error code when I was installing washer or using my washer so far. As far as I know that might be insufficient water supply issue. Make sure that you have correctly connected cold and hot water and both are fully turned on. I hope this will help. If not google it as "f8e1 code for whirlpool washer". Good luck.

There is gray part that is having MAX on it which tells you what is max amount of detergent but if you have smaller load you can put less.

I have to buy my first set of washer and it’s a discouraging nightmare. All brands and types seems to have horrendous reviews. Predominantly that there is not enough water and clothes have to be washed or rinsed a second time or you need to manually add more water. Then the problem with rusting or staining of the drum? GE seems to suffer from being extremely loud. This is insane. WTf does this happen? What happened to quality? Does it not exist any longer?

Go for one that offers a good 5 year warranty and your golden. But overall Whirlpool has a really good reputation for longevity

This whirlpool washer is the best. I have had it for a year and its still working great! Whirlpool washers are good especially the WTW5105HW and by the way its not a little water it senses how much clothes are in the washer to put in the right amount of water

The entire American economy is set up as disposable. GDP is measured in the amount of products sold and labor costs. People must replace their products and buy new ones, thus creating more employment....The Gross Domestic Productivity will then be higher. Before we expected things to last 25 years. Now we are lucky with 10 yrs, but it is not unusual to last only 5 - 7 years. And our greatest problem is many of the products (no matter what the gov't tells you) are not recyclable.

Very nice review. I do believe the detergent pods don’t go in the dispenser they go into the wash tub. The dispenser is just for powder detergent or liquid detergent not pods. 👍🏻

@@MrSaraideneen87 -- My instruction say to only use liquid. Powder and pods are to be put into washing tub and not the dispenser.

I could really use your help!.....We bought this model a year ago and ever since it was new, it periodically has the most disturbing noise when it is "Sensing" at the beginning of the wash. It doesn't happen all the time and when it does, it is the most disturbing screeching metal-on-metal (I believe) sound. Do you have any ideas? I do have a video of it. Thanks in advance :)

I don't have that issue, but there is a lot of clicking when starting, which I believe is normal. All I can think of it that you check is there anything loose inside, that was not taken care of at time of installation. I know it is hard to detect but you can try listen to and find about location of sound and than check for loose parts or foreign objects. Good luck.

We did Quinn size comforter but my wife is saying that one needs to be careful with bigger size comforters, in order to prolong life of washing machine.

Mine broke after only 25 months. Mainboard is defective and the cost of replacement is 460$ plus service call. Hope you have better luck.

It depends how much of the water you had and best thing will be to check all lectrical connections and motor itself. I definitely recommend someone with basic knowledge or profesional to look at it for safety reasons. Good luck.

There is still some sensitive electrical connections down at the bottom. this could be your case. Go into the service diagnostic and clear any fault/error codes you may have. this video shows how: kzread.info/dash/bejne/hpuu16aGqc3ceag.html

I would suggest a reference to the troubleshooting section in the manual. Check your power and water conections Also try different settings and see would it happen again. Some washers have 1 minute pause in some cycles.

@@averagemaintenance3875 it doesn’t matter what cycle it is or is I just do a drain and spin it’s does the same thing and then says the cycle is complete I don’t have the manual sadly I’ve left it unplugged to restart it but nothing works, I just have to keep pressing the cycle over and over to get it to start

New machines are designed for saving water, but so fat it cleans well, with the right program. The lid is locked while in operation mode. Must be stoped in order to open lid. Yes, it is agitator.

@@Olevea I understand, different people have different issues. After reading all reviews myself, I had doubts. That is with anything you are buying today. Ultimately, you have to make decision. I use this washer 5-7 times a week and so far, is good. One thing I don't really like is clicking noise when in operation, but that is the way machine works, nothing wrong with it. not loud just clicks. I hope this helps. Good luck.

It fills up if fabric softener is on. If fabric softener is off it spray rinses

Elizabeth, Thank you for watching my video. As for your issue about softener dispenser, I would try different program than you originally did. For example if you did whites try colors or instead quick wash try normal. Look into troubleshooting in your manual as well. If you don't find solution than I will talk to store that you purchased it from and ask for replacement. Good luck.

Is that an impeller or agitator? Can you open it or does it lock?

We've had our washer for a little over a year. The lid lock arm just broke for the second time (the washer will not run unless the lid is locked). This lock are is made of plastic, about 1/16 inch thick. A child of 5 would be able to see that it is going to break where it does! Very7 cheaply made!

I think agitator out is best for large loads and agitator in is better for small loads.

The reason why no agitator is better for large loads or bulky items is so you can pack it without an agitator being in the way.

Mine just skips everything and says wash complete. how am i supposed to fix this.

I agree with you, there are things that i dont like either, like clicking noise. Old stuff seems always better. I hope you used this one.

I'm sending my NEW 1 day old back to Whirlpool for a replacement for a function that will not work,even if I unplug the darn thing for hours to reset it and it still will not work. Electronic panels looks great,but is the gremlin';s still lives in it ? It a great washer,if it works. The R&D department needs to get a hold of their Quality Control Dept. and do their job on the ISO 9100 certified.......

I am 100% for BUYING AMERICAN brands (as they are scarce) and I am considering this model or a similar WHIRLPOOL or MAYTAG but I have to be honest after watching this review. This machine is LOUD after hearing it in your great video. I have to keep looking at similar models. UGH

Well I don't think the guy read the instructions, because he has loaded the towels wrong. I'm not sure he set it appropriate for towels, and didn't load the detergent. Maybe that is why the machine is making so much noise?

I'm sorry to hear that. Sometimes, it is not big of a deal that could be easily fixed . Do you know what is wrong with it? I suggest researching a bit and seeing if it could be fixed. As long as the machine is still new, it could be fixed with little effort and money.
