By far the most creative and purely aerobatic jet performance of the year. The negative pushes, use of the inverted envelope, the slow rudder snaps, yaw excursions, and deep stall control. This pilot knows how to use the rudder pedals. Flies the 16 like an Extra 300. Love the heavy slipped landing approach at the end.

Apart from not being able to go through the sound barrier, it was an amazing display.

Creative, precise, classy and powerful demos makes it hard to beat the Belgian F-16s! From those extended Neg-G pushes, abundant burner, minimal repositioning, the oncoming loaded roll with smokewinders and finally the forward slip to a landing with maximum wheelie! That dream viper scheme tho

That was certainly one of the most unique F-16 demonstration flights I've ever seen. You rarely ever see them putting negative G on the aircraft. I think the USAF frowns on that. A lot of focus on low speed maneuverability. I get the impression that this pilot spent some time in a Pitts Special or some other aerobatic aircraft. I'm so glad you were able to capture this unorthodox yet very entertaining flight demo on video.

Who ever was in the pilot seat of the jet is one with their aircraft. Most likely a former gymnast turned pilot. What a display of spacial awareness and smooth transition from each action. That was a pleasure to watch. Thanks again Dafydd for another great exciting jet exhaust filled video.

I submitted a design for an F16 with a Belgian Waffle fuselage. I still stand with my design. This fuselage could be eaten along with any top secret components before the enemy would reach it.🏆

Don't know if this is the best solo display at RIAT 2023. What I'm so sure of is Vrieske is the best F-16 solo pilot in the whole world; nobody ever comes even close to what he manages to squeeze out of his mount. His handling of negative g' s is a mystery for time to come and above all for me Vrieske is the greatest pretender of the whole air display circuit.He pretends to be a Hornet pilot on top of an F-16. Never ever witnessed a single F-16 for so long at such high alpha maneuvers. Last but not least kudos to his ground crew for keeping up his F-16AM in such a high state of readiness for a performance that goes well beyond the intended design performance record planned for 50+ years ago. Vrieske will pull off the best solo display trophy in the next few years before his stint as solo display pilot is over.He' s so fucking good !!!!.

What sort of landing is that called? Bit of skill involved there.

These are wonderful to watch…but they are machines to kill

Don't like the crew on that after a display, every single joint, metal measure, engine has to be checked because of the stresses it went through

Not even close to the best of 2023. The F22 Raptor in London Ontario all 3 days was better in the low show. My vote for #1 was the Finnish F-18 display at Radom.

I have to agree the raptor puts on a great display. The tail slide is incredible 👍

It's a good thing the yoke is to the right of the pilot in F-16's. Otherwise, this pilots HUGE balls would be in the way.

the Belgian F-16 fighters were intensively exploited during training and combat missions, being deployed in several NATO operations, such as Baltic Air Policing, the NATO International Security Assistance Force in Afghanistan, Operation Odyssey Dawn in Libya, Operation Desert Falcon in the Middle East and many others.
