At Barriss's core, she's a healer. She is also not a warrior by nature, but by training. Her nature won out over the warrior. I liked her arc. Wish it would have been longer.

My only problem is them being completely incapable of telling us a fully dark side story with a force user, they always have to turn back to the light for some reason. I don’t understand why even in a series about the dark side, literally called *”Tales Of The Empire”* it can’t just be about fully dark side characters…this is precisely why I don’t think we’re ever getting a solo Vader movie/series.

I was really disappointed with Barriss. It felt like they wanted to have their cake and eat it too with her. Changing her to he an extremist willing to take innocent lives and frame her best friend and call upon the Dark Side all felt like drastic changes from her in the original Canon. They should have doubled down on this instead of trying to make her the healer she was in the OG canon. They STILL didn't give me good reason to sympathize with her. I loved the first part but bariss needed more time to cook before turning if she turns at all- the first mission is crazy. I would have liked to see her take Lynn role as the broken dogmatic warrior and finding Ashoka and being shown the error of her ways not only by a Jedi but by a true friend that also had her misgivings about the ways of the order. The way the last episode plays out minus the stab I could just switch bariss for the inquisitor and ahsoka for bariss and it would have been beautiful. Maybe there’s ahsoka fatigue but to only mention her in passing and not show that interaction is nuts. We could have seen more of the inquisitors too. They’re one of the coolest parts of the Disney additions and they rarely get the time in the sun that they should beyond the “oh I’m being shown the error of my ways I’ll do better now oh hey Vader whats u-(DEAD)” speaking of Vader. To not have any, even the SLIIIIIGHTEST bit of recognition between the two of them is crazy. I know even with vaders hatred of his past he would keep that close to the chest w bariss. But imagine if we got a Vader training session w the inquisitors and Bariss recognized his fighting style. So many fantastic opportunities ruined by a four 15 minute episode timeframe. You can’t land a decade of hype on an hour long runway.

I've interpreted it as the red color, but in the sense of how she views de Jedi. Barriss is loyal to the idea of what a true Jedi should be, not the warlords serving politicians they have become, in her eyes the order brings violence and war, causing destruction and hate, so in some way she's saying she's using the right color the order should be using, they're no Jedi, and she knows she's part of the problem. As she said "We're the ones that should be put on trial, ALL OF US!" So it's clear she's not just putting the blame on the Jedi, wether she fells remorse for her actions or she just knows she's as much of a tool for the republic as anyone else, she doesn't think herself innocent, with that context, her claiming the red lightsaber suite her makes more sense.

I can't believe a lot of people would rather Vader had killed Barris when in reality Vader was at the point where he can care less about someone like Barris and simply chose not to recognize her specially when he could just send her to a too dangerous mission to get herself killed in. It's like everyone is consumed by their hatred for what Barris did to let her see things for herself and worked out what is truly important to her. I honestly think it's neat Barris realized the Inquisitors were far worse than the Jedi Order during the Clone Wars and then over the years went to make amends for the wrong doings she had done by being a healer and protector for many. While it would be touching for her to have contacted Ahsoka after all those years and made amends since the last episode clued in that she did that and it's them sharing information they learned what the Empire was doing capturing force sensitive children. Overall, Tales of the Empire second half with Barris, was by all means not disappointing and the devs pulled off some poetic storytelling using what little time duration they had via the shorts format. As for the Tales series moving forward I do like to see a Tales of the Sith featuring Maul knowing he continued being a prominent Crime Lord in the Underworld through his cameo in the Solo movie. The next part for Tales of the Sith could be Vader where Sidious order Vader to invade Naboo and so on.

It's been established in the Inquisitor novel that Sidious had spies in the Jedi Temple that worked to convert some Jedi Knights and Jedi Padawans against the Jedi Order. A lot of Barriss Offee fans are happy to have her story concluded, and that her story ended on such poignant mature way. As for not having Luminara and Ahsoka in this show, some things will just have to be left up to Headcanons and our own perceptions of what we think happened (Though many of us are exceedingly glad there was a redemption instead of a confrontation). A lot of us would have liked more, but this story arc for Barriss was beautiful on its own level. If she stays dead and never comes back, it would be satisfying. Filoni never leaves characters like her dead, but if he brings her back, I would hope it is as beautiful a story as what was presented here

Based on what we got I personally loved TOTE. People really don’t understand Barrriss’s character if they thought she would be some ruthless Jedi hunter. She bombed the Jedi temple out of desperation and frustration NOT some grab for power or hatred. The inquisitourus and the empire are the embodiment of everything Barriss hated. She was at her lowest and that was exploited by palpatine to make a difference. What I CAN agree with was that her training was far too tame. Vader cut off the arm of an inquisitor on his first day of training and Trilla was tortured until she broke. Not saying that I want to see something exactly like that but I kinda expected Barriss to come out more scarred from her experience with the empire. This is probably an unpopular opinion but I hope Barriss does NOT die BUT I want to see the lightsaber wound actually take a toll on in her body. Is it too much to ask to see her need to be reliant on some cybernetics in her wound that would either be physically uncomfortable or makes her a glass cannon where she can’t exert herself without some life threatening consequences. A plot point like this is not that hard.

Barriss is the trigger for Ashoka leaving the order and there is that betrayal from Barriss going from enduring alien brain worms together to Ashoka being impressive because of her actions. If we got a slightly more evil and corrupted Barris getting her redemption at the hands of Ashoka would have been more satisfying to me. Or even just the pair talking and resolving there old conflict.

I really wanted to see Vader punish her for her treachery against his padiwan Ashoka… Like her sense anakin as Vader walking past her, him sense her fear growing, as Vader sits down and stare at her, maybe force choke her and have the grand inquisitor remind Vader that she is a tool to be used by the empire.. they kept her story on point though! This one could go down as either tales of the Jedi or empire…

Literally if Vader just looked at bariss for a couple seconds and looked away like he recognized her but didnt say anything would have been enough for me. Also maybe 1 or 2 voice lines would have been cool.

Dooku is miles ahead of either of the characters in Empire so it only makes sense his story would be that much more powerful. I wasn’t surprised. It was as good as I expected and not as good as Jedi. Hoping they go back to blowing the doors off in the next one. I bet we will see Barris in Ashoka season 2….

I didn't necessarily think this was a bad series; quite the opposite actually. My only issue is that because of how short these episodes are, it didn't give us enough time to get the full picture of what happened, which is what characters like Barriss need. We should've had more time to see her interract more with Darth Vader considering her controversial past with him, we should've had more time to see her meet this sed friend (Ahsoka I'm guessing) that helped her find her new path in life. We can't see all of that in a six episode series with showings that last just about or a little over ten minutes, we need more to digest upon it all and the changes that may come with it.

I feel like a lot of the hate is stemming from Bariss not going full dark side. Now, I was personally theorizing that she’d go full dark, but after seeing the story and reflecting on her TCW experiences, her redemption makes far more sense. She was radicalized to do awful things, but in her heart she really wanted to do good. You can sort of compare it to Saw Gerrera (to a point), in that Saw did rash and even downright awful things, but all towards a cause he genuinely believed in. If Saw had a portion of Bariss’ compassion, he’d be horrified at his own deeds.

I like the dichotomy of both Tales of the Jedi and Tales of the Empire (one protagonist falls completely to the dark side while the other continues to work for the light). I think Tales of the Sith will have Sidious and Vader as the main characters. I believe Sidious' story will be his rise to power as Darth Plagueis' successor while Vader's story is the Force Priestess trials (with Qui-Gon's aid) he goes through post-Empire Strikes Back that help him become a Force Ghost. Return of the Jedi showed Vader lacking any sort of anger and hate by having him act really passive and solemn for most of the scenes as if he managed to quell what made him a Sith in the first place.

This might be redundant, but I think personally that the Barris arc left a lot to be desired. I don’t know why, but I thought it was boring, especially after the first episode of the arc. The gut punch for me was that I was really looking forward to this. Of the two tales, I’d say tales of the Jedi was a lot better.

Palpatine wanted those who could be turned to the Dark Side by recruiting those who weren't completely there to ensure they wouldn't attempt to overthrow him. If he wanted those already very attractive to the Dark Side, he would have recruited more from the Jedi Prison. These Jedi would have been searching out the Sith. These "Dark Jedi" would be more powerful with the Dark Side, yet more likely a problem for him and Vader. C'mon guys. I was disappointed by both arcs. The witch whose race was all but destroyed by the empire then joins them. I wasn't convinced she'd do so because they left out a very important aspect: this 'dream'. The details of the dream should have been told. Being sold by Thrawn alone isn't enough. It wouldn't have been enough for Thrawn by itself either. Barriss' demise didn't make sense. It was done this way as a statement of redemption and forgiveness. Again, something was left out which needed to be told. Both leave us to wonder and wonder too much. As it's likely nothing more will be told.

Why would Bariss be accepted as part of the Inquisitors? You can tell that she doesn't really believe in it and doesn't fit within the ruthless nature of giving into the dark side. If the Jedi can sense emotions, why don't the Inquisitors sense how much she doesn't believe in the cause? They're meant to be fanatics, right? She isn't acting like a fanatic at all.

I think it's very satisfying ending. I haven't watched the but I give it 8. Strong stoty, atmosphere, state of galaxy which has plunged into darkness. Rebellions appearing. I'm glad Barris got redemption. She was desperate. She wanted to wake Jedi up,to wake galaxy up. To save galaxy from the Sith. There's no excuses here. Just saying. I think Tales of the Sith would be great show. Ahsoka season 2 will be great too. I think Disney should be more bolder in making shows. I think Acolyte will be great. May the Force be with you both😀

I thought the Bariss arc was great. I thought her dabbling into the dark side was totally in character. In her duel with Anakin she said something along the lines of “I think these red blades suit me”. Which to me sounds like she’s taking some dark pleasure in fighting Anakin, which certainly teases her fall to the dark side. I’m fine that Vader appeared for seconds. Because they used him effectively. It showed that even though she condemned his padawan he showed no emotion. It was almost as if he felt nothing towards Ahsoka. It showed how strong the dark sides hold on him was. My only real complaint is she was asked to kill a friend and she does it without question. But when it comes to being asked to kill a Jedi she never knew she does a complete turn back to the light. But maybe she needed time (and a body count) to realize she had made a mistake. Also I really hope to see a reunion between her and Ahsoka. I mean that is sort of the reason I was pumped for her arc. I wanted to see if it was going to be a knock down dragged out brutal brawl or if it was going to be a tear jerking cathartic apology or both.
