Was KRONK a Squirrel Transformed by Yzma? ( THEORY ) DISNEY DEBUNK
Kronks dimwitted ways can only be explained by this theory that says he was actually a SQUIRREL! We also take a look at another Emperor's New Groove theory that explores the idea that Kuzco wasn't the only human-turned-animal!

The biggest issue: I don't see Yzma having the patience to train a new henchman more than two or three times.

Because of their lifespan, her henchmen die every 10 years or so according to the theory. Theoretically, she would only have to teach one henchman, and after 8-9 years, have the old one begin training the new one.

You cannot discount a sequel when it comes to ANY theory.
You totally ignored the real smoking gun here: Yzma didn't know Kronk could talk to squirrels. You can explain everything else away, but Yzma can't be that absent-minded.

She maybe didn't know that squirrels could talk. I mean, why would she? A squirrel turned Kronk would just sound like he was talking jibberish until he was trained, which is the same as how something that couldn't talk but was suddenly given the brainpower to talk would sound.
At least it's canon that Kronk's fursona is a squirrel.

Great, now I want art of someone drawing Kronk a Squirrel fursona. Or Kronk dressed up in a Squirrel fursuit (save for the head because then we wouldn't know it's him) x'D
Not to mention that the bug scene is actually a reference to the horror movie 'The Fly.' That high pitched "Help me. Help me!" line is iconic and is just funny to see as a side gag.

Here's a theory: Yzma is far older than any human should be as suggested by the numerous references to her age, she has a "normal" human companion who accompanies her everywhere despite considerable danger to themselves (and is replaced every few years), she has access to technologies that are far to advanced to exist in that time period, and she travels around in a box-like device that can somehow hold a massive tent and supplies despite barely fitting one person. Conclusion: Yzma is a rogue Timelady who got stranded on earth, and the thing Kronk carries her in is a non-functioning TARDIS.

Or... what if the reason Yzma is so old, and replaces her henchmen every few years, is because she is a vampire?
Very well put together! You missed an extra debunk: there's a closing scene in the original film of Kronk teaching kids (and kitty Izma) to speak squirrel, so we can even see that process rather than relying on his memories of childhood!
The spider would also have to be human if that were the case, because after crunching on the bug you can hear it say in a smug voice “Too late.” An equally creepy prospect, to be sure. 😐
@KingNexusMOCs

Helen Weidert I always figured it was the fly saying "too late" because it was preceded by "help me, help me" and right after the crunch sound.

I would have also mentioned his beefy size too. When Yzma becomes a cat, she still resembles Yzma. Same with Cuzco looking like himself even as a llama. As much as I love the theory, Kronk in no way resembles a squirrel.

what with actually having a point, and an ending?
The squirrel? The squirrel I was? The squirrel Yzma changed me from? That squirrel?
I had no idea there were fan theories about Emperor's New Groove. This movie is a gem that needs way more attention it's getting.
The joke about Kronk being the "latest model" and Yzma not knowing his age was definitely meant to be about Yzma being a cougar. Kronk was a late addition to the film relatively speaking, and the filmmakers mention his purpose as "Yzma's boyfriend" in the documentary "the Sweatbox." This movie has a fascinating production history if you've never looked into it. (I'm sure you have, LewToons, but many of your viewers haven't). Part of this history is a rushed final draft which turned out to be amazingly tight on humor writing and a decent story too, but I also doubt that the theory about the fly being a transformed human was intended by the filmmakers when they cranked the film out. It's just a reference to the 50s classic B-movie "the Fly," where at the end a fly with a human head is seen trapped in a spider's web crying, "Help me! Help meee!"
4:55 That part of the movie was a reference to a horror film 'The Fly'. Basing a theory around pop culture references is pretty weak. Your videos are great!

SpellboundWolf thank you lol. I was about to say they were reaching with that one.
The "Help Me! Help Me!" scene is a homage to the 1986 film "The Fly". Still doesn't disprove the first theory though
I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw this notification.. The Emperor's new groove is such an underrated movie thank you so much for doing this
I love this series already! Also you have a really nice voice to listen to. It's nice to hear that you're having fun!
In the direct to DVD sequel, Kronk's New Groove, there is a flashback scene of Kronk as a child.
Love this series so far! Can't wait for the next episode!
img i'm so glad i got in the mood for the emperor's new groove because i rediscovered this channel!!! this was one of my favorites! i came for the gavity falls and stayed for the rest... then forgot about it... but now i'm back!! and i'm bookmarking your channel so i never forget!
Also, Kronk talks about wrestling in high school in the original movie. That helps debunk the theory if you don't believe the sequel to be canon. If you're taking suggestions, I would love for you to dive deep into the Enchantress's curse from Beauty and the Beast. Thank you! Another amazing video, Chad!
I really enjoyed this, loved your vids for years.
The bug screaming "Help me, help me" is a reference to 1958's movie "The Fly"
No, he said he learned in the scouts.
This is a really intriguing theory with many good points and I'm glad you actually did a segment where you looked at evidence which disproves your theory. However, if I may, I have a few more elements that maybe you didn't think of ^-^ One, is Yzma didn't know Kronk spoke squirrel. Two, Kronk was a Squirrel Scout. I think by the nature of the group, you have to have an appreciation for squirrels and know how to communicate with them; which would mean you have to LEARN these things rather than already know them inherently. And finally, how about when they're in the restaurant and Kronk recognizes Pacha and says "Wrestled you in high school?" trying to put his finger on where he saw him. This means that he remembers going to school, AND was on a wrestling team. And while you could say "He could have gotten put into school after being turned human to make him act more human." I highly doubt Yzma's henchman would be of any use to her while he's gone at school for 9-10 hours a day. And furthermore, why on earth would she put so much effort into trying to teach a squirrel-man English just for the sake of having a henchman, when any brainless oaf she can convince to serve her and do the things she can't do with her frail old form, would suffice? Also about that fly who "was actually a human turned into a bug"... I think they were just making a joke, and "bbzzzbzz bzzzzz" is not nearly as funny or readable as a pitched up "Help meeeeee! HEEELP MEEE!" XD
Yes!!! Guys we did it!!! The TROOF will never be silenced!
in addition to the sequel. there was also that pretty good cartoon series, The Emperor's New School. which also featured Kronk's family in a few episodes
I love how serious you sound. it makes everything work
wouldn't he think in squirrel too though? Also, Yzma would need to know how to speak squirrel to teach him (she doesn't) just more goofs.
Oh, and the emperors new school also debunks this theory by showing us Kronk’s family a couple of times. A theory I am interested in is, what ever happened to Kuzco’s dad? There is an episode about it in the show, but it is never actually resolved. Is he dead? Or just missing?
In the movie Squirls are shown to be able to communicate to humans pretty well, understand them and even do things humans can do despite squirles suppose to not be able to do that.
Really enjoying the new debunk series
I think the every decade a new henchman was sexual reference lol.
That's a funny theory! I have no idea what to believe.
Ahem, Kronk’s New Groove... About Kronk’s HUMAN dad... Edit: Nvm you mentioned the sequel =)

DaPooch Family also the series showed all his family. mom, dad and brother. A very athletic family to be honest.
I am really loving this series already!
I wish we'd gotten more of these! The format is my favorite in theory videos
Awesome video
Another reason Ezma might get new henchmen “every decade” could be because they all get accidentally axed off every so often due to lab accidents. I mean if the human bug theory is true, what if that was one of her henchmen?
This makes sense because I remember the scene where Kronk was talking to the squirrel when he needed help finding Kuzco
This makes me want to rewatch the movie, not to find the clues for the theory, I just haven't seen it in a long time and I would like to watch it again.
Plz so more of these theories. If there are more I might subscribe again to this channel.
I think the bug that talks was a reference to the ending of The Fly (original), but the theory is fun.
Yzma Ex Machina magic 🤣 But really nice logic. Better than most conspiracy debunkers
Yay new video
The early version of this movie (The Kingdom of the sun) had so much information that wasn't used, I wish someone would pick up on them and do a video about it (I actually have plans for it but not the time)
Lewtoons nice video maybe next time can you do a toy story theory on how the toys are alive
But in the sequel kronks new groove you see kronk as a kid witch means he was a human
It makes sense!!!
great episode, wonder if you will come across any theories that will prove troof :O
Nice intro
I dunno the squirrels in the movie where smart enough to make a baloon poodle, taunt kuzko, and have lengthy conversations "using squirrel speak" I'm sure if given a human body "including human vocal cords" a squirrel could figure out how to speak! but no kronk is likely not a squirrel, he doesn't look like he was once a squirrel, usually the potions seem to maintain some character design traits though transformation like llama kuzko's hair and colors. also the squirrels hate yzma and are likely to smart to mindlessly follow her XD
That bug scene Fucked me up as a child

Kronk is a damn treasure, where's Disneyland's New Groove cast members mmmm
He once has a flashback of him as a little kid who baked with squirrels and his dad made him stop and took his oven mitts. He had a human dad and was a human.
I would think that Kronk is actually a dog turned into human. Think about it. A dog would be much more likely to have some small grasp of human language than a squirrel would, and they would also be more likely to want to follow orders and please their “master/Mistress”. Most dogs also only live to be around a decade or so old as well, and it would probably explain why Yzma would be surprised he could speak squirrel.
But in Kronk's New Groove he talks about his childhood where he would bake cupcakes for squirrels.
Kronk has a dad in Kronk new groove
The talking fly was a gag referencing The Fly with Al (David) Hedison.
would’ve been a cool little twist though
we need more
The Help Me thing is a reference to the 1958 version of The Fly which had a human's head on a fly's body at the end of the movie.
Yup! That line about learning Squirrel as a Scout, kinda nips that theory in the bud. I feel I must point out, however, that if you transform a squirrel into a human, it may still have a squirrel mind, but it now it has a human brain, and the speech capabilities that come with that. The real silliness is in Isthma and Cuzco still speaking human after being transformed into animals.
hey he did this my birthday wow
It's worth noting, the fly scene happened during the part of the story that was being relayed to us by kuzco (which indicates that it might have been added by an unreliable narrator)
I feel you a missing the point that language is a trait that is learned because of the body as long as you can breath and have suitable ability to articulate you can talk this is evident given the fact that eventually everyone (barring the mute and most cases of the deaf) will end up talking despite languages being different
Next theory: Yzma is actually a dinosaur xD
2:28 I think it was just a subtle way of saying that, after a decade, they get too old and aren't as 'hunky' enough anymore. So she gets a new 'toy'. Yes, I'm saying that the old hag keeps 'Krunk's around as eye-candy in addition to doing her bidding.
What if when transformed they gain the ability to have a larger brain capacity, and lifespan of a human. Then his family could be the old servants
One thing you missed when you did the bug part, the spider said "Excuse me" I think the spider was once a human too.
THE TROOF WON. IM SO PROUD.
Has any body seen Kronos new groove, there’s a flashback of Kronk as a kid. Also he has a dad, that’s human.
7:14 whoa isn't that music in the background the same music Pokemon uses for its streams?
anybody think that spider looks like the character from Treasure Planet that is super evil and kills the captain
I am reluctant to accept any of Disney's direct-to-dvd sequels as canon. They're usually just cash grabs with plots that are given little thought.
Also I'm gonna watch this on the train to Cuzco in Peru. The city not the princess.
Yezma might have given cronk a history.
If that fly WAS a human turned into a fly by one of Yzma's potions, surely she would have disposed of it with a fly swatter like she tried to do to Kuzco when HE turned into a fly in the Emperor 's New School episode Come Fly With Me?
This is probably addressed in the video but I can't watch right now and I will delete if it is later...but the much forgotten Kronks New Groove may just debunk all of this. However I suppose you can argue that Kronks New Groove isn't canon for obvious reasons.
litty
Hi lewtoons
Who thinks Kronk and Johnny Bravo would be perfect friends?
Love Kronk's shoulder angel/devil too.
Just a little note on the nature of squirrels: anyone who's dealt with their ingenuity when it comes to stealing tomatoes, will know that though small, a squirrel brain is aggressively active. I wouldn't put it at all past a transformed squirrel learning anything darn thing it wanted to --- and showing off about it too!
Nobody: Squirrel: “Gagaptha”
RIP Bug Guy
But that begs the question: whatever happened to Yzma's past henchmen?
What if Kronk's father was Yzmas previous minion, demanded his son to be transformed into a human and by the time he was too old for the job, the now more able-bodied Kronk took over. That would also explain why Kronks mother doesn't make an appearance. Plus being Human longer than Kronk could explain his lack of squirrel personality traits.
Consider that the potion eventually wears off.
We meet Kronk's parents in the sequel.
HEADCANON ACCEPTED
I didnt know her name was spelled "Yzma", for all these years I asumed it was "Isma".
I forget where I read it but somewhere I read that that fly was suppose to be Kuzko's father
I need three words to tear your argument apart: Kronk’s New Groove.
