Legitimately my only issue with the game was that the story could’ve used more time to cook (give Harry/Venom more story, and give Miles and Harry a better relationship being the biggest issues) and slightly better writing during all symbiote suit/ Venom sections

It was just boss fight after boss fight and obligatory “oh no is Harry going to die this is so sad everyone is crying moment” which was done way better in the first game with aunt may.

That ending montage is peak. The music. The lines. The visuals. Well done Alex!!

This is a very well made video, especially how you ran it back to aunt may telling Pete about "balance" and showing all the loving momments everyone has with each and finishing it off with a Cherry on Top editing 👌

Insomniac actually already spoke about the reason the ending feels so rushed. They said it was because they did not have enough time to finalize the 3rd act they initially wanted to have, so probably if the game were delayed it could have been even better.

Glad to see a review that isn’t totally shitting on Spider-Man 2, but instead acknowledging its flaws while also acknowledging that the game is overall fantastic. We all know the game has undeniable problems, but I love it despite its flaws.

I wish that insomniac had been able to flesh out the sorry. The Gameplay is so damned good that if the story and writing had been better it would honestly be in my top 3 games of all time.

Kraven to me has always been one of my favourite Spiderman villains for how wildly unique he was compared to the other villains who were super powered failed experiments, but Kraven was just a highly skilled hunter and apart from some potions he was all man and had no superpowers yet gave Spider-man a really hard time. Spiderman 2 PS5 gave us possibly the best take on the villain as he truly set a new bar for the character and made him both menacing and cunning with sheer strength and tactics becoming an absolute menace which I love to see. Jim Perri did an outstanding job as the character

I honestly think I feel the same way as you, even though Spider-Man 2 has its problems, it's still one of the best Spider-Man games, the love that insomniac feels for the character is really incredible and beautiful to look at and the game really is made by fan for fan, I'm very excited for the sequel!

This game is my personal favourite game of the year. And yet, it isn’t perfect. It could have done with maybe three or four more hours of story, flesh out the black suit story and make Venom a deeper villain.

This game is perfect, but one thing infuriates me. You need full energy to heal. In the other games you could heal anytime. And this has cost me so many deaths istg

It felt as though the story took its time in the beginning of the game, but as the story progressed, it became much for fast-paced.

I'm always so excited when you upload a video, I really like your funny spider man essays, I was born 2009 so I was too young to see Tobey Maguire, but when I got older and figured out there was a spider man 2 game, man those were good times, now Tobey Maguire is my favorite spider man.

@@NYCWALLCRAWLER491it’s called bandwagon hate. People unfortunately do this and are trend hoppers and try so hard to be different knowing damn well they love the game. People just hate or say more harsh things on the internet more than they do irl because when it comes to the internet, you’re anonymous and your face and personal life, including your address can’t be identified. So you can basically get away with anything you say on social media and people take advantage of that to say negative/harsh things.

The outro of this video is a masterpiece, I really enjoyed Spider-Man 2 and I think Venom is a great villain when he possesses both Peter and Harry, corrupting their minds, and being a lot more violent.

You were 6? I was 17, and working at EB Games, first game I bought myself working there on my new SLIM Ps2. Now we're here. Thank you for your videos, they really are great.

Brilliant video, mate! While I don't think this blows the first game out of the water, it's still a ton of fun and I agree that another 5 hours would've been noice.

feels like i had the opposite experience, every time I thought the story was about to end it kept going. I really enjoyed it and I think the side missions are amazing too. but i get where you're coming from, great video

The story felt rushed but everything else felt amazing! Only ever crashed when pigeons spawned in though at insane speeds.

I personally loved the insomniac spider man games, I personally love spider man 2, at launch I didn’t run into any problems. My personal favourite game of 2023, baldur’s gate 3 is my 2nd favourite game this year

Well he kinda did. Miles was the one who separated Peter from the symbiote and Peter was ignoring miles to focus on harry. There is also the slight jealousy Harry feels that leads him to claim that Peter just replaced him with miles.

I'm pretty sure the audience didn't say... I didn't like feeling weak. I think they didn't wanna play as MJ or Miles at all. While I agree the second game did her justice. The first game made me quit and uninstall the game 3 times in one MJ mission altogether. Idc if she was weak. I hated it.

It's amazing how Insomniac has made 2 Spiderman games and they're both positively recieved and now thanks to them we're getting more Marvel games. Hopefully the positive reception the game carries it over to future games. Pretty sure the Miles Morales game was developed by naughty dog and not Insomniac. Although feel like personally they should've waited for a future game or dlc expansion for the symbiote takeover to happen but feel like they were gonna do it similar to Mr Negative and Doc Ock one starts the game as the villain the first half then 2nd half the other one becomes the main villain. Don't know where I got Naughty Dog working on Miles Morales must've thought they worked on it while Insomniac worked on Rift Apart guess not or if they did help it was for smaller projects

I loved this game so much that when I received as a Christmas present, I ended up Platinuming the game in 3 days.

The game's story is a mess because Insomniac themselves said that they wanted to do so much more but Sony rushed them. I wouldn't have minded if the game got delayed but since we have it now, I still love it

I genuinely enjoyed most of the story, even with the rushed pacing in certain places. I wasn’t expecting anything in particular; I was just hoping to enjoy myself with the story, and I got what I wanted. I really enjoyed Venom in this game. I just thought he was so intimidating and powerful that, despite the symbiote being destroyed at the end, I hope we can see more of him. Like I said, I wasn’t expecting anything in particular with the story, so I thoroughly enjoyed it. Could some things have been better/more fleshed out? Sure. But, for what we got, I’m pretty satisfied. Great video.

So In the next year's or so I'm expecting a "was everyone wrong about madame web?" Video!

Excellently put. I love the game but it definitely needed to be like 5 hours longer. It's around the same runtime as the first game yet the pacing felt way more breakneck especially during the Venom arc. I hope with the rumored DLC they set up or flat out introduce Eddie Brock as a second Venom because it really felt like we didn't get enough of him.

I love the game but what they did to the MJ model is abismol. the blatant self insert is verry distracting.

I think we can all agree that Yuri Lowenthal got robbed for Best Performance. He gave his all in Spider-Man 2. I mean, I knew Baulders Gate 3 was gonna win. It seemed obvious given the large amount of content it has and the fanbase it rapidly grew. Like Elden Ring from last year. They really like their large open world games that takes over 100 hours to finish.

Bro, did everyone forget Spider-Man Shattered Dimensions? That game was amazing and playing with each spider-man felt special. Sure it's not open-world but the story and everything was so well put together. I also enjoyed the Amazing SM games, it had some great details where Spider-man would use his own web to heal himself like what actual spiders do. I didn't see what special thing Insomniac did, but after playing the first game on my pc, that game felt so good.

The way I see it this game is good for what it is. It’s not game of the year worthy nor better than the first. But it is a safe sequel to a fantastic game. There are tons of KZreadrs out there like Synthetic man and Griffin Gaming who call this game complete trash for certain decisions and imperfections but I ultimately don’t share their view. The game has problems, a story sometimes being rushed, several beloved suits missing from the roster, some game breaking glitches that as of this comment have mostly been fixed, arguably not enough additions to the gameplay, miles god awful new suit, and so on. Is there some suggestive writing that feels like it panders to some movement or another yes. But that’s not enough to completely bring a game down. It’s good to know I’m not alone as KZreadrs like moistcritical who I trust to be unbiased and neutral have a similar view. Still I do wish this game didn’t have a lot of its content cut out.

I feel like since they took so much from Last Hunt in the Kraven part of the story they should’ve had the Peter being buried in May’s grave part cuz he is still grieving her and it’d help with showing that it is justified to Peter becoming the best asshole ever so fast
