I bought a 4 person Eureka Timberline 18 years ago. I don’t use it every year nowadays, but it’s still as good as it was when new. I spray it every year that I use it with Camp Dry or similar product. At 70 years old, I’ll be proud to hand this tent down to a younger person on a budget! If they care for it as I have, it will last another decade or two! I carried it with me on several trips to Central and South America on motorcycle adventures! It always kept me dry!

Man. The way you guys interact on here (in general) is refreshing, and honestly helps to remind me that there are still good people in this world! It doesn't help that (as an American) a lot of the videos I tend to see, happen to be by American creators, and are (for the most part) commented on by other Americans, and people can be brutal to each other. Completely unnecessarily. I can feel the negativity in my stomach and chest and I know it isn't healthy so I've been trying to find more positive content (since I can't afford to leave the country) and I found this guy. Thank you for keeping even the most frustrating situation positive ❤

I got a British Military Pattern 57 sleeping bag in 1997 from an Army Surplus store and it's still in regular use. The base of the bag is waterproof and it folds up into an inbuilt carry bag stitched to the hood of the bag. I've slept in a field on a mate's farm in it in the rain. No tent, just curled up next to the campfire trying to use my car as a bit of shelter and as a heat reflector. At this time of year I usually put a thinner bag inside it and double up. Never been cold yet. Still also using a Vango pop-up tent that I bought at a Scout sale summer of 2005. Despite being 18 years old it's still completely watertight. A mate gave me his old military bag a few years ago. Different design to the 57. It's fairly robust too. I also put a 2nd, modern lightweight bag inside it in colder weather. Slept in it in a Transit van in Cumbria the other weekend, when it was -10 degrees and everyone was stuck because all the roads were blocked by snow. The Police were trying to get us to go to a community centre with the other refugees, but we were cushty in the van, with bourbon, beers and meaty treats to nibble on.

Left in 2011 for Scotland which then led to Spain 😂 Love the outdoors and fresh air. 😂 several decades later I spend my evenings out back of my wee villa and right now n the winter, still outside under cover, udder a duvet and heated blanket, have a fire pit under cover for the super cold nights. Often wake up as the sun rises out here. My chichuana loves the sun and in winter has the other end of the duvet.

Ground cover under every tent I ever used - no leakage problem. Awning, when raining shorten 1 support leg for drainage. Other leakage in tent , probably seams needed to be treated with sealant pre use. Camping in rain sucks , been there done that. Always kept a really good thermos filled with boiling water for hot cocoa or tea in the morning. Helped to lift the dampened spirits. Enjoyed the camping otherwise ❤

Unfortunately, so many products are made to LOOK like the actual product, but with little or no concern for function. I have purchased a cheap can opener that looked like a name brand model, but it wouldn't actually open a can. I bought a pair of wire cutters that it turns out wouldn't actually cut wire. I'm glad to see a growing trend of manufacturing moving back on-shore here in the states. Which costs more, a cheap item that doesn't work? Or a more expensive item that does work?

I didn't think that chain saw would work at all. Congrats on your muscles. I camped once with the cheapest, small tent I could buy. Friday night was great, no rain. Saturday night entirely different. I woke up Sunday morning with my legs curled up in the fetal position and the bottom of my sleeping bag was floating in a very large puddle. That was my first and last camp. After watching these videos I've learned so much more. Thank you.

We have one tent and have had it for years!! One thing i always do and recommend folks do everytime they get ready to camp. I buy the moisture barrier spray like you you would use for work boots. I have no leakes. First thing we do is rake or sweep camp site so we are sure there is no rocks or sharp sticks to puncture the bottom of tent. I put down a tarp before any bedding is arranged.

From what I remember about nylon tents is you can't even touch the sides of the tent or it will start to leak. You need a tarp under it and over top of it . Camping in a rainforest.

You have to be good at doing something to make it interesting to people that don’t even do what you are showing! Not only do you come across as very personable guy, your videos are very well recorded and very, very well edited. Very nice presentation. You must spend many, many hours editing! Well done!!

If you warm up the tortilla in a dry skillet first, it should soften the brittle tortilla problem if they seem very brittle the heat should soften them up and make them become flexible. Once they are warm you can then wrap them in a bit of aluminium foil so they stay warm and soft. You can wrap them in a damp tea towel and then the foil if they seem dry and brittle. This works with both flour and corn tortillas.
