A man out doing a good days work. Then comes along a drunk and the guy ends up with a leg ripped off . These drunk drivers should never be allowed to drive again and a very long prison sentence. I hope the delivery guy recovers his life has completely changed .

😮😠Absolutely gut-wrenching. The thought of someone being crushed between two vehicles. It's heartbreaking to think this employee's life is forever altered and now has to endure months if not years of rehabilitation and hardships all because some stupid fu** decided to go out have a few too many drinks and get behind the wheel. This DUI suspect I hope is locked away for a very long time and will never forget what he has done to this man. I only hope they are able to reconnect and somehow save this leg. It is devastating to think of what lies ahead for the worker and his family. My thoughts and prayers for the family for strength and patience. A completely preventable incident where again, the perpetrator walks unharmed and likely to do it again to another. I hope when he sobers up, he thinks of what he has done to someone who was only trying to make a living.

It sucks that our system will go easy on this guy and he can resume his life as it was while the victim has to change the way he lived life for the most part. Dui especially when u have hurt someone like this needs to come with 10 to 15yr prison terms. If the victims whole life changes because of your selfish behavior then ur whole life needs to change too.

I mean we have yet to see how this play out, but technically the state has the capability of pursuing up to 10 years in prison for the driver unless I'm mistaken. 4 Years for felony DUI with injury [even if 1st DUI due to serious injury being caused,] then another 3-6 years enhancement for the injury being considered a "Great Bodily Injury" which is an enhancement & for the felony, if convicted or pleads whatever prison sentence is given 85% of [x] sentence will have be spent in the prison at minimum. Then of course there are potential other enhancements that may apply depending on all the specifics.

@@aaronhoy3410 we know what they have the capacity to do, the point is they rarely give the max time and depending on if he has any kind of record yet he may end up on probation or do very little time and the rest on probation or worse off a suspended sentence. I grew up in courts due to ky grandma being the duii assessor in our county and my aunt in probation,my cousin a detective my husband is a deputy. I've seen and heard my fair share my family coming home with the "WTF" !!!? Being the first words after they had to sit in court on dui and other cases for their clients or watching someone else's case while stuck in court and the pos be released or given minimum punisent by Judge and d.a because the prick had no previous record or had maybe just a little charge prior to ruining an innocent persons life with their own selfish actions. We can site possible charges all day but the point is like I said, will they bother to fallow those and stick him with what HE DESERVES. And honestly they most likely won't, but I hope they will. Remember they turn k1llers and child mol3sters loose too.

I pray the guy makes a full recovery and is able to get an orthotic. This happened to a driver at my job at UPS in NYC in the morning hours. The guy got both of his legs severed. He unfortunately ended up dying at a later date from complications of his injury.

Not a dumb question at all. In some cases depending on the body part it is possible to reattach, however, in this case I'm not sure, it's a whole leg right? Lots of nerves in that area. Good question.

I feel so bad for the innocent person who was doing his job and gets hit by a drunk driver and loses his leg. I think these videos should be shown and shared more often,maybe it would help people and teach them how serious this is.

He’d much rather be sleeping. He moves a bit toward the alcove’s opening, and the cop simply reaches out and pushes his shoulder back. So the drunk sort of leans against the wall, closes his eyes, and lets out a sigh. The cop keeps his cool, but you can tell he’s angry & disgusted. He keeps his head forward, stony-faced, not even bothering to glance at the guy. Just guessing here, but from the drunk driver’s demeanor I doubt he even comprehends what’s he done or how much deep sh*t he’s in. At least he won’t have to worry about getting those permanent tags for his car now, huh?

Its sad that we do this to each other as humans. I think anyone convicted of a DUI, even non injury, should do a few years in prison! There simply isnt much of a deterrent out there. Thats why this keeps happening. Its a joke!

All that body damage and all the cops could do was charge DUI? Is that a joke? At least prepare documents to help the victim sue and recoup his medical costs, rehab, and the cost to live the rest of his life with one leg, he will most likely lose his job. I feel like a lot of times police don't really care about victims, all they care about is charging criminals with crimes, then the rest doesn't concern them anymore.

Holy 💩 he must’ve been in some MAJOR pain

I basically severed my lower leg 30 years ago in an accident, though mine was till attached by some skin. The doctor wanted to just finish the job and take it off, I told him NO! I......Two years later Jesus had me walking on that leg, no infections, normal feeling in my foot and toes. When it was all said and done my leg healed to the exact millimeter in length as my other leg. The doctors said that was unbelievable......Believe it. Exodus 15:26 says....."For I The Lord Am The One that heals you"......!

I mean or it was the doctors who meticulously reconnected & repaired the damaged bony structures, tendons, blood vessels, nerves, & skin for however many hours they worked on you. Also, they said it was unbelievable as just a saying of sorts because of how difficult such a procedure is & how comparatively high chance of long-term complications/issues, they didn't mean it literally in the sense of there is no way for this to have happened.

The punishment for a DUI that causes injury: Prison: Up to 6 years Fines: Up to $10,000 Driver's license suspension or revocation: Minimum of 1 year

Because it gives the cops more evidence to convict. Especially important in case he refuses or it’s not due to alcohol and they can’t prove how long the drugs were in his system. They need to be especially thorough when the DUI involves manslaughter or great bodily injury
