Deadly Rollover Aftermath w/Coroner & Tow | GARDENA, CA 11.22.20

GARDENA, CALIFORNIA - The driver of a Chevy Blazer was transitioning from the 110 north to the 91 east crashed at the end of the transition rolling into lanes of the 91. The driver died at the scene. It's unknown if any other drivers were involved. CHP conducted their investigation as the Coroner investigator conducted his. Once the victim was cleared from the scene a tow truck came and up-righted the SUV as CHP cleaned the highway. Speed was a factor but it's unknown at this time what led up to the crash.

@Ty Rich, completely agree. About a decade ago a co-workers mother was killed in a car accident. In the news footage you could see her purse sitting in the middle of the intersection. I wanted to yell through the tv for someone to pick up this poor woman's purse! That has always stuck with me, not sure why.

When a car going over 100 mph hit us from the rear, we were sent down a ravine. The only thing left of the Fitt was a frame around the 2 front seats with us in them. I had been shopping that day and the back was full of my purchases. They were scattered in the ravine and were gone. To this day I can’t remember a single thing I bought. I had a severe head injury and my friend thought I was dead and told the cop “She’s gone”. I heard him. I was petrified to go out at night in a car for years.

If you want to see violence, watch Game of thrones or any other current adult television show. It's not hard to find violence these days. What is hard is finding people who sympathize with the dignify of the dead and not sensationalize it. Blocking the dead body of the man protects the family from seeing their dead loved one.

@@katherinegilmour181 As a matter of fact, most tow operators who have a contract with the CHP are witnesses to horrific accidents involving death. I, myself have seen several, and I will tell you that it is not something you get used to. Because every accident is different, and seeing a human life, (no matter the age) lifeless, decapitated, loss of limbs, crushed bodies and heads, are not at all something you get used to, in fact, it stays with you for life. As tow operators, we do are job, and it’s expected of us to do the job efficiently, and safely. The trauma doesn’t begin with a seasoned operator until he has released the vehicle at a tow yard and begins to reflect and goes home to his loved ones. It begins again whenever they get a call to an accident in the future. One of the worst accidents I’ve ever seen, after the bodies had been taken away, and the vehicle is loaded on the tow truck, an entire family of the deceased showed up on scene and was wailing and crying, just crushed, and for some reason they all came over and group hugged me as I was thrust into the grieving families moment of mourning. It’s a moment I will never forget. From a family whom I never met. The job is more than just being a tow truck driver. We endure quite a lot.

This is so sad to see, particularly when the coroner’s van drove off with deceased inside. Was noticing a few things in the aftermath of this, like the headlights were still on, and besides this vehicle obviously has a very poor rollover protection design and weak roof structure. Also, looking at all the different random objects..many of them being metallic and heavy in nature, could have played a big part in the driver’s demise, becoming projectiles during the crash. Whatever the reason, this was pretty tragic. These types of videos should be mandatory in both driver training/drivers education as well as traffic schools everywhere!
