There's an aversion to taking the license away from people in the US because in lots of places a car is the only way to get around and they could lose their job without a personal vehicle. This is one reason we should have more public transport in the US...a lot of people should not be driving.

The driver’s still bad, they braked super gently and then took forever to put it in reverse, and then reversed veeeeery slowly instead of flooring it. Of course there’s no way to know how wide the landslide was, but still, man… have a LITTLE bit of urgency!

@TonyEnglandUK I think by the time she knew there was danger, it had already passed. I don't think she was unconcerned, just oblivious. I saw it once back in '09, a pedestrian on his phone got laid out in a crosswalk by a van because he didn't even realize the light had turned. I'm pretty sure he was fine, and rehabilitated ahead of his time into paying attention to the world around him

I know that road and must say that, that is a first, although it is a bit of a rough area, normally see chavs on dirt bikes / quad bikes

If you witness an accident, while it's good that you stop, to check everyone's okay or offer your dasham footage as evidence, it's *not* good to stop in the middle of a live lane. Park somewhere safe first.

Also some generic advice. Press your brakes. Rolling into another vehicle may also put you at fault. Also pull out of the damn road too. Too many idiots hop out of their vehicle and block traffic after an accident.

To add on that good advice, if u get into a fender bender where the damage is cosmetic, no ones hurt pull all the vehicles off the road. I got stuck in traffic for like 15 minutes where I shouldn't have been stuck all because someone slightly rear ended someone else at a red light. Each vehicle had like a dent and some scratches maybe, but they felt it was necessary to stop in the middle of the road and take pics and call their insurance companies on the spot.

You have an EU accident agreement in which case the police wont be called to the scene but that is only if both parties agree who is at fault, damage is less than 2000 euros and there are no injuries(even then you are recommended to take photos of the accident) , but if you don't police will have to come and if you moved your car it could be harder to prove who is at fault.

​​​@@d_mb theres actually truth to that. if you look into something called "deliberate practice" you'll see why thats the case. deliberate practice is basically a couple of important things required to achieve expertise in something and time is one of the least important of them. driving is usually one of the first examples given. in order to improve at something, you can't "just" do it. you need to reach outside of your comfort zone. learn things you didnt know before. practice skills that you cant yet do. for those with many hours driving, they either got too comfortable doing it, and got complacent(ie too much autopilot), or they ran into a new situation that they never went through before. an easy example would be someone who has driven for over 10,000 hours. theyve driven on small town roads, highways, inner city traffic, but then one day, for the first time, they run into a busy roundabout for the first time. all their hours dont matter here because 0 of them were spent on roundabouts. time=/=expertise. thats why all the adults that have driven for decades arent all nascar drivers. they learned enough to get by where they are, then let it go to autopilot from there. its really interesting and if you wanna look more into it, its just a google away!

I was driving through Texas one day and watched a dog just out of the back of a truck going highway speeds. I caught up to the driver and got his attention told him his dog had jumped out. His wife lost her mind. Very irresponsible owners.

Border Collies have a lot of energy. The sign says they are in Utah / the beehive state & it's done there. It's totally wrong to have a pet in the tail gate on the highway. The dog could get hurt or cause an accident if it jumped. My Border Collie rides shotgun inside my truck all the time, muddy or clean.

As someone who's currently taking their driving course, and with how strict and serious the monitors are with teaching us how to drive and how the driving code works, it's astonishing how these drivers ever got their permits and licenses in the first place. Honestly, though I'm still learning how to drive, it's the other drivers around me I feel more nervous about and don't trust.

It's a general rule that new drivers are generally safer drivers than older drivers. When you're not used to driving and just went through classes about what to do you're more likely to follow all the rules everyone should. After you've been driving (or anything really) you're more likely to get complacent, and skip steps you shouldn't. Like properly doing a shoulder check vs just looking in the mirror, you might not have issues dozens of times just using the mirror, but you can still miss something the one time it matters that a shoulder check would have caught.

Always remember to wait until they tell you to turn the car on, don't just do it. I was the only one to pass on my driving test because everyone turned the key before being told.

So glad there is technology that can actually help and assist the other drivers nowadays back then it's was word against word it should be mandatory to have the dash cam and back cameras on at all times

These folks need to live with a mechanic/wrench for 6 yrs like I did. Our Audi Fox was quick, and he taught me defensive driving that saved me for the next 40 years! TY Mike! P.S. the Audi 4000 stick from the 80's was the BEST, most responsive car I ever drove, including a few brand new vehicles...but Mike's education saved my life as I worked as a home care nurse later in life, on some of the most densely driven roadways in New England.

Im not sure byt the cammer seemed to agree that the cop couldn't pull out, so me just guessing...

​@@munga1111no, that is not a rule anywhere. Anyone who gets over into the merge lane like that is an idiot. The lane ends in a very short distance. It's only there to allow people to merge correctly by getting up to speed to match traffic. What that cop was doing was 100% wrong and illegal.

Some of these drivers that avoided being involved have great reflexes.

The trees falling on the cars were not due to bad driving, so do not fit into this compilation. Nor does the person falling from the center island into the street. I'm not sure that the scooter fail was caused by bad driving. That could have been something in the street's condition. The man out walking his dog, slipping on the ice was not caused by bad driving, either. The tires falling off or blowing out were due more to equipment failure than bad driving. Same with the umbrella popping off its shaft into the middle of the street. Bad driving can certainly not be blamed for the lightning strike and might even have prevented some bad driving by waking everyone up.

Then you have the girl with the umbrella and skateboard guy and the bird scarer. Looks like some of these clips were just filler to get the video to the desired length which is just lazy as there are plenty of actual stupid driver clips they could have used.

It does make you wonder how some of these people manage to get a drivers license or if they even have one at all!!!👍

My grandma was 90 and took a test, she was still allowed to drive. put the wrong key in the car so it would't start, hit every curve and sign she passed, it was scary

He must have needed to be in a different lane. I can’t tell but sometimes the right lane immediately turns into a turn only lane. Or he needed to turn left right up there and was waiting until he could safely cross two lanes. I’m not saying it’s a great way to drive but there isn’t a sign saying he must keep moving.

Obvious entrapment. The officer had plenty of chances to merge. Never had I once had to make a full stop to merge on an interstate. Zipper merging.

2:45 I live in an area where a lot of the roads are single track with lots of bends and high banks and hedges either side like that. You go down that road at that speed - guess what - if anything comes the other way, you've got nowhere to go and no time to stop.

That’s why you should never drive faster than you can see. People wonder why on logging roads I go around corners at 20 when I’m driving straight stretches I’m up to 80.

No, there was a yield. If there’s a yield when merging onto the highway that means you can’t go if there are cars and you don’t have enough room, unlike a regular merge.

Imagine being such a bad driver that a mountain slides in front of you
