The one in the giant armor holding the claw gauntlet and giant maze and who is talking That was Horus Lupercal the once favoured son of the Emperor, Arch triator and the Warmaster of Chaos Plus that space marine he stabbed was 7 and half feet tall yet Horus towers over him.

@@angelobrewster6293 indeed the best primarch, there's even the theory that he beat and killed horus but succombed to the black rage and the emperor had to kill him (which would explain why the emperor hesitated since it's weird big e would hésitate to kill à fully corrupted horus)

So he is what’s called a moderarte or also known as a titan pilot and so imperial tech allows the user to neurologically link directly to the machine, for example everything that the titan sees, the pilot can see, anything and everything the titan feels, be it say a power fluctuations in its right leg which can be felt as say twitches and so on, the thing in his mouth is a vox amplifier

The moderatii (moderators) are the ones who help with certain functions in the titan. The Princeps are the actual pilots who control it.

@@ironduke5058 i think the princeps only control cathedral titans... the one there i think it was called a questor imperialis (imperial overseer or smth).

The guy at the giant claw on the mace? That is Horus Lupercal. The heresy is because of him. The reason why it's heresy is he turned against the emperor and convinced eight of his brothers and their legions to join him in a galactic civil War that tore yhe Galaxy asunder. The horse heresy is basically God versus the devil with God being mortally wounded the devil being killed however there are other angels that turn traitor against their father and like reality God is powerless while evil runs rampant. And the cinematic trailer is for the tabletop game.

The Istan 5 drop site massacre was the largest and biggest loss of astartes life where the majority of loyalist marines and imperial army forces were sent and deployed to istvan 5 in order to crush a supposedly heavily defended enemy, only to land upon a barren planet devoid of any life and the ones sent to the planet were those who’s loyalty swore to their own legionnaires but even their own brothers would be sent to the planet because their loyalties couldn’t be ensured, such as the iron warriors legion where despite many of them were originally from Olympia many of the legions were filled with Terran born marines and since their Terran brothers weren’t trusted to betray the imperium simply executed Half of their numbers in order to prevent spies or loyalists within their ranks. Which in turn lead start of what will be known as the Horus heresy as entire regiments of imperial army troopers loyal to Horus or the promises of chaos, fell into madness and depravity as acts unseen throughout human history on a scale never seen before where entire cities were gathered into the center and were hacked to pieces as their blood flowed through the streets, all the while acts of depravity were carried out in numbers even gengis khan would be jealous, all the while plagues and sicknesses spread even further and further, consuming entire worlds into rot and decay, all the while people run max with visions and knowledge not meant for mortal minds to see, all the while Horus the supreme commander and hero of the imperium has committed an act only a fool or the insane would dare usher, and as news trickled and spread about Horus’s betrayal people started to panic, many believed that the whole thing was some fabricated hoaks, or that it must be fake news because Horus, the man of words and even peace, a man who detested violence, a man loved and cherished by the emperor, a loyal serving son a demigod no less would dare turn traitor? Imagine if Jesus sided with satan and started a crusade against god, that’s basically what happened to Horus, and all the while friends, brothers and leaders, all turned on each other for no reasons, as false information or lies spread amongst the ranks, where one regiment might be forced to fight another regiment from the same home world, or even some regiments had to fight against their own people and home world because they all sided with Horus That’s how chaotic the Horus heresy was, imagine order 66 but to anyone and everyone where half of the clones would betray their jedi and half of the clones wouldn’t, how do you tell each other apart?

Most people have no comprehension of the scale of the Horus Heresy and the death and destruction that resulted from it!, this trailer captures Horus Lupercal perfectly.

This was not for a video game but for a tabletop miniature game

This is not for a video game it's for the plastic models. Warhammer is a tabletop game first then video games, books and animations are just extras. All of them are just to sell more plastic models not for video games.

I think if you want a 40k pc game, then the up and comming space marine 2 or the older Dawn of War 1 and 2, or Mechanicus are a better jumping in point. Or if you want something more complicated, the up and coming Rouge Trader or the older Battlefleet Gothic Armada 2 (although that's a space ship RTS so it's really niche). Unless you really like painting and tabletop games I guess.

​@@OleHerland like he said, Space Marine is a good tpp hack and slash for sitting back and mincing through orks at a satisfying pace. Dawn of War 1 and 2 are by far the best strategy games for Warhammer so far, but do not touch Dawn of War 3 because it isn't that good. Space Marine also has an upcoming sequel. Battlefleet: Gothic Armada and it's sequel are both digital versions of the Battlefleet Gothic tabletop space game.

This trailer is for the new edition of the horus heresy tabletop game, which is a spin-off of the main warhammer 40k tabletop game. It's more focused on the space marine legions so it's perfect for space marine fans.

@@OleHerland Warhammer is first and foremost a tabletop game, being established all the way back in 1987. And being so old has been the inspiration of many sci-fi franchises from starcraft to gears of war and even doom!

​ @OleHerland Honestly the lore by itself is pretty all-encompassing and with the horus heresy story itself being some 60+ novels large while only being a part of the greater 40k timeline, you won't be out of interest! As for games, the space marine video game (of which a sequel is coming out, you should check all the trailers for it!) is a pretty simple shooter from 2011 that still holds up well to this day, and should give you a good entry-point into this universe. Other than that you have the mass amounts of lore videos to digest on any given topic of the universe you might think of: from this army or that army, that vehicle or weapon, almost everything has a deep-seated explanation to it. In any case, however you wish to enter this hobby if you want to, I hope you have fun with it!
