It sounds like SOME body was knighted but whiny. Willful but not strong-willed enough, and obviously not deserving of the Lady's blessings. If indeed a bastard son of the sovereign than that would have encouraged and engendered his susceptibility to a false sense of entitlement. The Mallobaude moniker could be ironic amalgamations of Fren- er, Bretonnian “mal” for rotten, evil or sickly and those words meaning “merry”, “baudy” or “cheery”. Uh oh, what unencrypted Grail back door did this scourge of a black knight peek into? Why did he keep his helmeted face hidden behind faceplate and was the potency of his personality enhanced by the winds of Dar? Is Bretonnia host to a native, yellow-bellied serpent as this guy used for his personal herald? And whose was the blazing, cackling skull that Mannfred witnessed in the the opening quotation? Hahaaa, Narrator! Which territory strikes dread more into the hearts of men, Reddit or Mousillon? Not to be outdone by the Empire's Sylvanian legacy this nation certainly has its own terrors of infamy to contend with in the undead. The “rightful” duke of the cursed duchy, yeah...you've got it. A grimdark-worsened Mordred, indeed. Although, the film “First Knight” did cover that character and legend superficially, this tale would be a terrific opportunity for on-screen elaboration. The Bretonnians were nothing less than lucky for their alliance with the wood elves but it's the Green Knight who would endure as this country's ultimate champion and saviour. Definite satisfaction in the taking of this bloodsucker's head. The planet will always remain un-blown-up, in our hearts. Regardless, thank you lots and lots for spilling the blood, uh, beans on this latest shining celebrity of the Fantasy French, GDN. I always welcome more, more more. Mike well said about this whiny willful mallobaude who's what a Black knight- would be but at least he didn't get chop in the whole bitty pieces like a certain other knight if you know what I mean,😉👍

Lets hope CA put this dude and his faction as a DLC for the game. Imagine Bretonnia faction + vamp counts + gun powders!!!!

Interesting story. I'm sure many fans of the setting would be synpathetic to the cause of Mallobaude. Saving your people from the lies of an elven enchantress sounds noble and just. This Mallobaude is like the biggest hero of Bretonnia, and yet his story is tragic.

Yeah, its been like a year and a half since I got a new one. Although I also changed the audio editing technique.

Oh boy 😂GDN I" got that the Redd I" mean red's can be atrocious indeed." But jokes aside I" love this story of mallobude and since I've read a lot of King Arthur and watched Ivanhoe and few other movies it's Why I love Bretonnia plus dark Grail knights are cool."😃👍

I wonder if he actually saw something truly because that would just mean in the end, it meant nothing because of the End Times destroying the setting the most inglorious set of events. It clearly wasn't enough to spare anyone or save them. If anything, it was a plot never able to be delved into or chaos slipped something into the cup or fake cup to soften up Brettonia before Archon got started.

I genuinely despise the plot point of the Lady of the Lake being a elven goddess. It just absolutely robs the entire faction of its identity and seriously dampens its uniqueness as now they aren't simply inspired by, or culturally affected by the elves like the Empire is by the dwarves. But the entire faction is suddenly made to be a watered down, diet version of the elves, and all of their heroes, their Grail Knights are now nothing more than freaking simps. I desperately hope this hope this plot point gets retconed, and removed, or actually developed into something useful to the lore

@@GrimDarkNarrator Yeah hard to say for sure but the bit about needing to be completely free from sin before drinking from the grail or you'll die sort of reminds me of apotheosis v becoming a chaos spawn... feels like it's a messy process that maybe doesn't work perfectly every time and the Lady just, you know, 'erases' the mistakes. Unless they make their save vs her spell then they might ride off all mad with no effect. Or a demon thought it would be funny to wear her face and tattle the real game to a knight to see what happened.
