Thanks. There would have been a (slim) chance of losing some Terminators (or the Praetor). But five 1s have been seen before 😂

Volkite Heavy Support squads are really underrated IMO. Mathhammer wise, though the guns are only Strength 6 and AP 5, they are actually a little better at killing terminators than lascannons are.

Haven't run the math myself, but I agree that weight of fire is the best way to whittle down terminator squads.

Great game, gents. It's been a while since I played but would the DG praetor unit's hold your ground test not have failed in the EC turn 1 assault phase due to night fighting?

Praetors (and anyone else in Terminator armor outside of legion specific units that are Stubborn instead) have Inexorable, which ignores penalties to Leadership for pinning and morale checks other than Fear or from the Corrupted or Anathema subtypes so the praetor gets to use his full Ld10 during Night Fighting morale checks like Hold the Line.

Cataphractii terminator command squads are hard to shift. WS5 v WS4 plays a big part. 2+/4++ and 2W is another. So unless you're attacking them with Instant Death AP2 weapons it's a tough fight. The inductii were relying on weight of attacks and then rending wounds from the sabres. Sadly, some pretty bad rolling failed to cause 1. Enough wounds. 2. Any rends... Was always a gamble on Paul's part. But honestly one worth taking. Average rolls and he would have killed 1 maybe 2 and taken less wounds on the way back.

Hey guys didn't the EC command squad do the counter change reaction? Or they did already before and that's why you cancelled? Just curious btw

Thanks for pointing that out. It's an editing mistake on Richard's part. So, as you saw from the first roll. The EC just won the roll off, but the Death Guard had forgotten that they have a +2 for Jump Packs, meaning that they would have won that roll off. After deciding to 're roll' that charge. With a +2 roll for the DG, the EC decided to do the safer bet and hold the line to mitigate some attacks.

I love your channel. I always enjoy watching your games but I'd not have any fun seeing that DG list across the table. Especially with no real line of sight blocking terrain. I'd tonne it down for the sake your opponent. Switch the command squad for some death shroud or something. Every unit doesn't need to be the most optimal choice.
