Dang it guys. Now you make me want a new army! As if painting Alpha Legion units weren't time consuming enough 😜 To be fair, I also have minor contingents of Death Guard and Iron Hands (all unpainted, *blush*). The new shattered legion rules opens up possibilities for mix and matching odd troops from partially painted armies though... Those Tyrant Siege terminators are just too tempting. They could of course become a "Rewards of Treachery" unit in the AL😇

I love Tyrant of the Dodekathon as a warlord trait. Can drop it on vantage points that someone has already placed Heavy Support Squads on, or directly in the path of an Assault Squad that now has to take the long route, or use it to narrow down the places an enemy wants to place infiltrators (since the trait takes place after deployment but before infiltrators). And an easy-access 2nd shooting reaction is just plain solid, up there with Stoic Defender for me. Lyssatra and Apolokron are just a bit too easy to kite and bait out, especially Lyssatra with the squad being forced to respond to things like an empty rhino's combibolter. On the note of characters vaporizing themselves, the Gets Hot rule only states that the self damage inherits the gun's AP, not the Strength. If I'm reading that right, it would mean that characters and Tyrants wouldn't be at risk of instant death during Bitter Fury or Lyssatra shooting. I'm curious how you guys play it, I've only ever played it as triggering instant death, but someone pointed out to me recently that that might not be the case.

We've never really thought about the Get Hot str value. Cause most of the gets hot the str of the weapon never applied it. It's an interesting point though. It's also never been clarified in a faq, so you might be right. It's just an unsaved wound like any other unsaved wound. Will have to think on that for FEW future games.

I'd say Iron Warriors can be easy to paint to tabletop standard, but difficult to do a great job with that much metallic.
