Lindy-Fay Hella (the female singer), according to herself, was a very shy child, hardly talking to anyone. But her older cousin forced her to sing. That gave her her freedom. Lucky for her and for us.

Whoever suggested this picked a good one, love Wardruna and saw them live and it's breathtaking and epic. Clive Standen "Rollo" from Vikings was in the audience with his wife and daughter in the middle row of the concert and no one knew, until he passed right by us at front row and took his family backstage in intermission, he was only allowed to take photos and videos, we weren't allowed by security which I didn't find fair as we waited for hours in the cold to see the band, Clive did post it on Wardruna facebook I believe. They did do songs for Vikings series and the singer Einar was in it. White raven's are rare but some have said it's been spotted several times on Vancouver Island. Great reaction thank you.

He's playing quite a few instruments shown in the video, but I'm guessing you mean the stringed one. That's a Tagelharpe (Bowed lyre) It's quite the old instrument dating back to at least the 14th century if not further. Oh their music is in the Vikings alright. Actually the stringed instrument Einar plays is the Kravik Lyre which is a replica of the oldest stringed instrument found in Scandinavia. It can be plucked like a harp or bowed. When Einar founded Wardruna in 2002 he began making his own historically accurate instruments because nobody had made these for a thousand years.

It's said that White Ravens are exiled from raven society, and they become extremely depressed as a result, due to them being very social birds. There's also a tale of how Óðins ravens, Huginn and Muninn, hatched as white ravens, but when Óðinn gave them the task of being his eyes and ears over Midgård, reporting back to their master after a days of watching over humans. Over time, due to the atrocities they had witnessed overtime, their white feathers started to darken, and they became black. But, that's just the mythology of Óðinn and his ravens. The more you know. Skål! ᛟ

Odin has two black ravens Huginn and Muninn (thought and memory) that help him oversee the earth and they fly hear and see everything and then go back to him to tell him.But those ravens weren't black at first, they were white as the snow but one day the Allfather asked them to look inside people's souls and that's how the both turned black as the night.

And its a healing experiance to listen to them. It feels cold raw ancient pjure. You dont need to know the lanugage to feel the power in this. I would love this type of music to blow up. I think the world needs to conect more with nature. We live in a meaningless fantasy world. The society and the scale of everything make us so disconected to reality that i feel trapped in it. I dont want to live in the modern society but everybody is expected to stay and follow what everybody else does. It feels like im wasting my life at work or at home, staring into my phone, following the same pattern every body does, everyday every year. Im sick of it. Im finished with my little rant now. No, white ravens are not albino. Albinism is the absence of the pigment melanin which leaves the animal white and makes the eyes red and legs pink. White ravens have leucism which results in only partial loss of this pigment and their eyes are typically blue. They really aren’t white, more of a cream color.

No, Wardruna sings in both Old Norse and Norwegian (modern). This song is in Norwegian (dialect, nynorsk). It's very, very far from Old Norse. In case it's not obvious I'm Norwegian and I know my own language(s).
