    Because it carries the primal and animistic energy that we lack nowadays in this modern and materialistic world, it reminds us of who we really are.

    He actually was in one or two of the Vikings episodes, as a singer. He also did a lot of the music for the score. If you like this go watch the video of the International tv series Gala, Vikings Suite. I also like his song Skugge. Edit: I listen to Wardruna to sleep too. It’s very soothing. Danheim is as well.

    The relaxation factor with Wardruna's music has a scientific basis. The underlying drone that you hear in the song is common in sacred music from all ancient cultures around the world. That sound literally effects the brain by shifting waveforms. It's similar to the use of binaural sounds for meditation and sleep. It places you in a particular headspace.

    Einar has a metal background, former drummer of Gorgoroth. But I’m so happy you like it though. Us Scandinavians have very little left of our viking heritage and culture because of christianity, so this type of music f.ex. becomes very important and special. I hope you’ll listen to Kvitravn next 🥰

    Love your open and inviting reaction. First: Yes, you remember him from "Vikings". Einar Selvik more or less identical with Wardruna. The mountain Lyfjaberg (= healing mountain literally) is one of several mountains in Scandinavia having the property of healing anything from severe deceases to love problems. The more hardship during the climbing the better. The female you see several times is the nordic goddess of healing and medicine: Eyr - Eyre - Eyra . In the same spirit may I suggest Gamle Grå also by Wardruna kzread.info/dash/bejne/nXqJmdCLlZqpYKQ.html which is a song of the time when humans and wolfs hunted together.

    Norse Folk has great music. Yes, Einor Selvik did music for Vikings Tv show and was in a few episodes singing. It's traditional old Norse. Great music. I'd recommend more Wardruna, Skáld "run", "Grotti", or "ò Valhalla". Danheim has many great songs too. Even the title song to Vikings - Fever Ray "If I had a heart"

  • @leod2408
    @leod24082 жыл бұрын

    The Old Norse word Lyfjaberg means ‘Healing-mountain’ and is known from Norse mythology as a place of comfort and cure for the sick and sore who manage to climb the mountain.“The song expresses that climbing a tough mountain, both in reality and metaphorically, is a mental as well as a physical effort. I have tried to write this journey up the mountain as one for the mind and spirit as much as the feet and body. Anything of true value, comes at a true cost,” says Einar Selvik. Climb the mountain it's worth it!...... The video for Lyfjaberg produced by Ragnarok Film .The mountains at Tustna and the spectacular Trollkirka caves in Norway serve as a beautiful backdrop.

    I love this song and band so much. Einar (lead singer) is such an inspirational and unique individual. He is known for singing with a beautiful sense of despair and knowledge of things we do not know. Thank you for having the open mind to listen to and enjoy. Discovered this band not too long ago and they've changed my life. This song has a very deep meaning despite its simplicity. Raido, Skugge, Kvitravn and Gra are all songs by Wardruna with music videos if you wanted to explore the band with visuals first. Truly one of the greatest artists of our time. And I mean that.

    Glad you enjoyed it! Wardruna are very historically inspired, they try only to use period-available music instruments, sing in the closest we can recreate of the old Norse tongue, and sing about subjects that would have been familiar to the vikings. For example the majority of their songs are named for, and inspired by, the runic (Futhark) symbols that were both meaningful but also an alphabet to the vikings.

    This actually is my favorite video... They made it May of 2020 and the weather was supposed to be good(the place is an island in the northwest of Norway) but when they got there an extremely cold blast came from the north and temps plummeted and started to snow. They had to stay there for three days because they couldn't get out due to the bad weather.

    Raido Voluspa Kvittraven The song Helvegen, live by Wardruna +Aurora is an epic song. Look for the indoors live version. I’ve been to Norway four times and hearing Wardruna makes me homesick for Norway every time even though I’m Dutch. I think you’ve got to revisit Heilung. In Maidjan. Alfadhirhaiti. Othan. So this type of music is known as "Pagan Folk". The band's lead singer is an ardent modern Norse Pagan. Modern Pagans have faiths based in the pre-Christianization beliefs and Gods, and often includes elements of animism (the belief that everything that exists has a soul like humans do). This song is based in animist trancework. The song guides the listener to let their soul go on a journey from the body to the healing mountain, where they can overcome their worldly burdens, masks, and concepts of time and fear, and in doing so, by making it to the top, heal themselves. It's a beautiful and deeply spiritual song to other pagans like myself.

    13:55 there is nothing wrong with that, I use some of his music and some other pagan like music to sleep because it's very relaxing and almost hypnotic in a way. I have several other playlists I use for sleep as well. Usually older music from the 30s or 40s because of the simplicity and soundtracks like for example from the movie gladiator. I can get really sucked into it and it's very easy to fall to sleep to because you just get sucked in and your mind just goes blank.
