War In AFGHANISTAN | A Timeline Of BRITISH TROOPS In The Country 🇦🇫

About 750 UK personnel are currently in Afghanistan in a non-combat role as part of a NATO mission.
However, the UK has confirmed it will be part of a "drawdown", while NATO set a target of 1 May 2021 for personnel to begin leaving Afghanistan.
The US says it wants all of its troops to have withdrawn by 11 September - the 20th anniversary of 9/11.

Even if you plan to do a full 22 years. Like I'm planning on going EW in the Royal Signals since it's got a pathway into a cybersecurity degree for after service. Would also lookup the ELCS since I know RE have a degree pathway in that for a few degrees at Staffordshire

@B I now realise I misunderstood the comment. A lot of videos on the subject of the so-called 'War on Terror' attract comments from the freedom community, of which I am a part, that 9/11 was a red flag operation committed by the 'Deep State' and that the real war is about bringing down 'Them' (which many believe Trump is near to achieving) in order to restore our democracy and true freedoms. I guess I am so far down the rabbit hole that I assumed Ace Tanker was referring to 'Their' imminent demise, which many (though not me) believe is coming soon.

War is the means to an end and the goals were achieved. I don’t quite understand what people think goes on or what war is but it’s not one of these video games you’re no doubt obsessed with. The place might go to pot after and it wasn’t handled particularly well by the leaders (which really that is the American end of things seeing as it was an American lead coalition) but in terms of actual Britain personnel the objectives were met. Also in terms of the 1800’s that is not the same war and it is not the same forces. If Britain went tow ar with China now then that wouldn’t be the opium wars, that’s just not how that works. Same with Russia, it wouldn’t be the Crimean wars.
