I was the second player… it was a great game! I was shaking the whole game, and then I saw that I was getting back in the game… then when you took on g5 I thought you were going to take with the rook so I had premoved and yeah… but it was a great experience.. thank you so much!!!!

I think playing Rapid chess instead of blitz would be beneficial for the series. At least in the higher elos where the plans and moves require more explaining.

This is top-notch content, Levy. I'd love to see more of this. Especially against 2000+ opponents, or at least 1500 or something, not lower-rated (even though I'm a subscriber and lower-rated than that, so that means I don't get to play you, but the instructional content is simply better when people aren't hanging funny stuff).

yes, this content is his best by far. unfortunately - as you can see - it never performs as well as his low iq videos w frank and such, so we won’t get many of these type of vids. you can’t blame him for doing what gets him the most views

I love the upgrade where the map changes color when you are in a "what if" scenario, really nice

I find it amazing how calm you are while playing a high ranked player with only 3 minutes and you take your time explaining the pro's and con's of each others moves, and best of all you win at the end😀

PLEASE do more videos like this!!! I love it and can take away SOO much from it

Because of you Levy I studied extensively your London opening for white video and your Kings Indian opening for black and it propelled me from 600 Elo to 1050 Elo already

Thank you for helping me to get to a 1000 after 1 and a half months of playing, I started off at a 500 then grinded and played 10 games a day, learned a few openings, and then watch guess the elo for fun every night, after a few weeks I got to an 800 then in another month I got to a 1000 elo

Great video, I havw your Caro course, so this 3rd game was super instructional. I wish you made more of these types of videos, maybe in rapid time control. As always, great video Levy.

Wow, I've only watched the first game of this vid and I love the format. You've made it very easy to follow. I'm knocking on 1000, but I'm definitely aiming for a title. I haven't bought any of your courses yet, but I know I need to work on my middle and end game. I usually feel very solid in the early game unless I see an uncommon opening because I've been sticking to 3 openings. Vienna for white and Caro-Kann/KID for black. Thank you for the great content! Levy leaves the tactic on the board for like 4 moves then when he spots it says that sometimes he likes to give his subs a lil help then falls for it anyways, truly one of the chess players of all time.

Working on the 2000 grind myself. I think at this level everyone is obviously very competitive and sharp. 9/10 they will play for a win and will play very aggressively. However if your play is solid, you can use this to your advantage by being patient, exchange when the time is right and by allowing them to over extend and risk their stability in the pursuit of some grand attack. They could even be stronger players than you, but that won't really matter if you make less mistakes than them.

I came across your guess the elo video and i got hooked and binged watched the paylist. Installed chess and lost games to scholars mate. Learnt fundamental and basics now im 478 elo. Thank you Gotham for introducing me to chess and just how addicting it is i can't get enough of it. I also played my first game with 84.6% accuracy.

25:22 I was genuinely curious but levy never got into analyzing this later so I decided to see for myself and found out that it doesn't fail the evaluation bar is +2.0 if the opponent found that move

i think this seriese is better when you do it with rapid games. the extra time to be instructional makes them wayy more valuable to me.

Thank you to share this instructive video cause i struggle to pass the 1800 level in lichess and you show how to play 1900 level players around.

That 3rd game was very instructive!!

This is by far the most useful Gotham content in my mind. The 6-700 videos are too simple, players just fling pieces into fire; tournament recaps are too complex, with the razor thin margin of a mistake being near impossible to identify without engine assistance; Guess the Elo is good but games trend toward really good or really bad, and feedback tends to be more reactionary But Win at Chess, generally with 10 minute games and time to talk over the thought process of each move, is the sweet spot.

As a 1600 who dreams of 2000 someday this was a great teaching video.

classic gotham chess. love it. I love the analysis of pro games but for my rating its like watching pro tennis or any other elite thing, despite great commentary the games never represent much of what happens at 1800. So this is entertaining and really instructive. Love it, thanks

I think the biggest factor that helped me to get to 2000 is practicing my calculation. Improving my positional play also helped me get to 2000+

Gotham is trying to speak from past experience of being a 2,000 but him being a 2,000 is nothing compared to us because he played like 1 Elo when he was 2,000😂

Thanks for the nice video, I think it was quite instructive. How would you see the same concept but for a rapid game? Something like 15+10 with more time for more in-depth reasoning -- of course playing one instead of three. I see now how the knight can jump back and cover the white's rook.

8:57 obviously i didnt see this (my rating is about 1200), but there was a different game i played a while back, where I thought I was going to get mated on the next move, but I found something very very similar to this, but instead of being on the c file, it was on the A file. He premoved the move that would've led to mate, but I just traded queens because of the great move I played, and my opponent resigned on the spot.

Can I just mention how good levy got with the arrows after the win at chess series?

8:48 you missed Bc5, it creates an escape for the king well also threatening a possible check.

When I focus on just playing solid instead of being super aggressive I keep winning super quickly...but then I get confident and lose again. It's the worst, but this helped a lot.
