This is a perfect example of an of the high value of familiarity and experience. I do as much of my own maintenance as is makes sense. But I also know when turning the repair over to someone who can do it in their sleep is more prudent. Thank you for the great tip!

After watching the tabs go back into the groove when twisting, perhaps placing some toothpicks under the tabs would keep the tabs up long enough to disengage the hose.

Just had this off of mine last weekend, can verify that toothpicks work great, put them under two of the fingers and as soon as I got the last one up with the pick she was outta there.

Aaron, I have a suggestion for a simple tool. take a couple of 2mm welding wires, cut into three 4cm long pieces, flatten them at one end so they look like a narrow screwdriver, it is then possible to drive them in under each locking pin. then it should be easy to disassemble them in place on the engine, what do you think of my idea of doing that way. hope you feel like testing my idea.

2' pry bar resting against the lower intake with a forceful but quick smack also works without damage, no need to remove heat shrink. With CCV assemblies on back order, reuse is the only option currently.

So the sensor is just for pressure. Which means they were concerned about the old ones clogging I would assume. My 16 looks to have the sensor but also has the newer sealed top CCV box. So if the box is better than why have a sensor? Also, does the new CCV box replacement (heard around 80k miles to replace as maintenance) going to have a new sensor or can the sensor be transferred?

Omg 🙏, I'm so glad you made this video and I'm sorry for bothering you so much with my questions but that port that you're taking that hose off of, is that port suppose to have vacuum sucking air in from the ccv box and can that port get clogged with carbon from inside of the intake to where it can't suck air if it's clogged? I disconnected mine from the box side and left the other end attached to the intake and I'm not getting a suction at all through the hose. It's a 2011 6.7l powerstroke with 113,000 miles that sits up alot for the last 2 years. Great video and thumbs up on it👍👍👍👍

HELP!!! Ok well I am doing the CCV reroute, and the S&S CP4 disaster kit. I am almost done, however where my CCV hose connects to the lower intake on my 2014 F-350 SRW, 6.5' bed truck, there is some kind of sensor there that has a plug from my wire harness. I have looked forever through all the CCV reroute videos, I have not seen a sensor there for ANY other 6.7 Powerstroke, regardless of the year. Is this only a 2014 oddball? Can I just leave the harness unplugged when I remove the CCV hose? Or do I need to reinstall that sensor, and then put the boot over that and keep the sensor plugged in? The sensor is in a black housing on the CCV hose assembly, between the actual hose and the black/grey lock assembly. CRAZY!
