SPE CCV Reroute kit & Internal Catch Can

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

The reintroduction of oil vapor can cause valve gumming,intake sludge, and a reduction of engine power and performance. SPE has a solution for the 6.7 Powerstroke, our CCV Reroute kit and internal catch can.

    I routed the stinky end of the hose to a venturi fitting welded in my exhaust, not only does it help pull the vapors out, it also dissipates the smell when mixed with the exhaust. Before I got the venturi welded in my exhaust the hose ended right below the drivers side frame rail, so anytime I was stopped in traffic w/windows down the smoke/smell was horrible, definitely recommend the Venturi! 🤙🏽

    You should make a secondary can at the bottom of the hose to catch any residual to stop any leakage on to the frame.

    Chad, this kit should not clog under normal operation and circumstances and if installed properly. The whole point of the internal catch can, and the design of the kit is to be able to install it, and forget about it. No maintenance, no worries. Incorrect installation has happened and we helped people figure out that the hose was routed and pinched or kinked which would be an issue. As well as there can be extreme cases where if your taking your truck offroad there would be potential to get mud/ debris stuck in the hose as well. But we have never had a customer claim that has happened to them.

    ⚠️ WARNING ⚠️ they changed their design. It is now a two piece system where the baffle part is dangling over your valves held on by a single machine screw. A much worse design for the same price. There is no mention of this anywhere. They are still advertising the old single piece system.

    Does the internal baffle/can option have any mechanical or affixed points? Or is it all machined out of 1 peice of solid aluminum? I'm worried about it breaking over time and damaging valvetrain? Any insight on this? I think it's a good idea to help cut down on a potential vacuum created by running on high speeds however.

  • @SPEMotorsport

    The ICC is machined out of one piece of billet aluminum. It is not a multi-piece part and will not break apart inside the valve cover when installed. We personally have close to 100K miles on these kits on our shop trucks with no issues.

    curious about doing this, just a thought, couldn't someone just remove the hose from the CCV box, replace with a properly fitted hose, run that hose to the back of the truck, find a properly fitting cap for the intake side and be done. This way you have a catch can(CCV BOX) and venting to the atmosphere instead of the engine. Seems like it would work and save money.

  • @SPEMotorsport

    @SPEMotorsport

    2 жыл бұрын

    Theoretically yes you could, but generally the boxes end up leaking or clogging up if they have filters in them. Also getting the factory box removed from the engine bay is generally another reason to do the full delete. Less stuff under the hood to go wrong or be in the way.

    @@williamsantiago7303 I just went to my local Ace Hardware and found various rubber end caps and found one that fit then made sure it was secure with a clamp. It really does work great. The new style ccv without the filter is a catch can. All it does is collect any oil droplets. Ace is also where I found my hose, bought 10ft and a male to male splice and connected the hose coming from the ccv and ran it back to my 5th wheel prep. I just kept thinking all these kits are just to vent and so many were talking about catch cans. I watched a video where someone opened up the new style ccv and there was nothing inside so I figured what the hell and try it. Works flawlessly.

    I would find a way to vent it back to the engine after the turbo in the intake like and re burn it like al the old dieses did I use to re route the CV Valve on the old IDI and 6.2/ 6.5 to even did it on the old Detroit's like my 8v71s and the Peterbilt's and Macks all vent the Crank fumes in to the intake after the turbo so the turbo would not suck the oil out of the engine and also put lest strain on the CV Valve by burning the Crank case fumes you actually do get a pinch better fuel milage plus no mess under the truck like the old commercial trucks did and a well maintained diesel will burn 98% of the crank case fumes but always put it post turbo so the turbo does not suck the oil out that was the flaw with the old designs it was pre turbo ........
