Yep! Hasn't been like that in many years. I enjoyed watching Johnny, Merv Griffin, Dick Cavett............even David Letterman in his early years. These days Jimmy Kimmel, Jimmy Fallon, and Colbert just put me in a bad mood....way too political. Can you imagine if Johnny Carson came on and all he did was rant about Richard Nixon for an hour?

@@noneyabizz8337 Same here. Like Johnny, he was a quick thinker. Different interview styles but just as funny as Johnny. His personality was also different from Carson. Ferguson's interviews with Robin Williams were extraordinary. Both riffed off each other at lightening speed. I miss them both. Wish Craig would come back to annoy the censors again lol.

@@howardford6991 how is Jimmy Fallon “too political” when he was criticized for not taking jabs at politicians like Carson, Letterman, and Leno. revisionist history at its finest. you’re just cherry picking to like some out of touch old head. laughably sad.

Walter Matthau and his son Charles were both clients of mine, both lived in Pacific Palisades. Walter was a very gregarious and nice person; his son, not so much. I told Walter that one of his lines in Charley Varrick made my Dad laugh so hard he almost broke a rib. He asked what it was, so I told him it was in the scene where he was in a Vegas hi-rise with a woman who had a round bed. The line was "I've never slept in a round bed, do you lay east, west, north or south?" When she replies, "Well, what did you have in mind?" he says "What I had in mind was boxing the compass," Walter admitted he didn't remember saying that but smiled and acknowledged that it was a funny line. RIP.

Ironic that an eye recovering, sun glass wearing Mr. Matthau talks of his poolside encounter with the Reverend Schuller. My one time speaking with him was at the Braille Institute of LA luncheon where he was wearing his “Coke bottle” glasses…
