Used to be quite a nice place. I have lived here all my life. It has turned into a depressing run down scruffy old town. The history in this town . We made some of the best steam trains in the world. Once a proud town.

This is our first choice for immigrants to the UK. I love the tranquility here, but the town centre is really disappointing.......

Still a great town compared to Luton.

Worked 6 years in Swindon, a very busy town, could never find anywhere to park. Now look at this place . Honda left , Business park nearly empty. More pigeons than people. So sad!

i used to live in swindon .so glad i moved away to belfast i hear now its a shite hole depressing place to live i came back in november 2022 for 1 day and was glad to see it in my rearview mirror as i drove away from this miserable place

Needs a bit of a clean up. I’m sure it will bounce back eventually. It’s been years since I’ve been back. Hopefully some new shops will come. Needs more trees, flowered areas and street entertainment.

Are town center is dieing just like the other town centers all around the UK.

Far too depressing to watch. Back in the sixties and seventies when I used go there a lot is was a vibrant town, I truly believe that the town councilors and planners have done more to destroy the town than anything else. The place is now dead, you could say that out of town shopping like the designer village has killed the town centre, maybe, but lower rents and business rates and the shops and shoppers would return.

So sad. That used to be vibrant. It looks like it's still during covid, but I wonder whether it's any better now.

it says walking tour and 'ambience' but its all shut down and there are a lot of people living on the street ?

Fleet Street is the most depressing area now used to be vibrant even before the bars and nightclubs. I think the one on the corner has been empty for at 10 years now.
