    Fantastic. I am an ex Derbyshire lass living in NZ I swear by the gospel according to you guys. You know your stuff, your advice works and it is a daily practice that makes all the difference.Intention is the key.. So is 'stop it'. We really are putting in the thoughts by ourselves, so we can change them. Simple..' Stop it' indeed David.

    Having C-PTSD which came on rather later - from childhood trauma - makes me feel like I have become hopelessly riddled by malware. It's totally running me and owning me at the moment - two years after finishing moderately successful psychotherapy.

    Good morning! Waking up is physically painful, most of the time. I've learned to focus on the good things: hot shower, warm clothes, breakfast and a job that pays for all that!     I didn't realize this is so common to wake up depressed and anxious. I do it at night too when I am trying to go to sleep. I can rationally tell myself I am doing it to myself, but deep down there is that victim mentality that says it is outside of my control, it is being done to me and I start to feel self-pity. I will be working on these concepts of responsibility for my emotions and inner child work. Glad to have found wu wei wisdom!

    Im tired if being depressed and anxious every morning. It makes sense that my childhood feelings are a lot like these that I'm feeling. That feeling of dread, I always knew when I came home from school that it wasn't going to be good and that is one reason I hate being alone.

    My wake up involves even remembering the News or Movies I watched the day before, which at the time I handled normally. But after sleeping on them, the troubles of our world seem to be added together with all the previous ones. So that waking up in this world, where peoples' houses burn down and all sorts of other terrors IS JUST TOO MUCH TO GET UP FOR ANOTHER DAY.

    This is my life to a "T" , I wake up like this every morning, I chant every night and morning to resolve this awful issue/sensation and I am having treatment which is solving various traumas gradually and some which I didn't even realise I was still holding on to.     Your body gives you a nice dose of cortisol to wake you up and you can respond to this with anxiety when it’s meant to be getting you up and ready for the day. If you’re in a good place you’ll interpret this as excitement. But you’re choosing to interpret it as anxiety because of your core beliefs

    Thank you for making this video and i watched other videos of yours learning to take the responsibility of my own emotions. It really works, I realise that I actually have choices, I could choose. It even helps me to detach or stop absorbing others' emotions and feelings as well. I also wake up with those red light feelings and it could last throughout the whole day. As I'm going through this process of change and I go deeper and deeper into myself, I found that it's actually always me wanting to be like this. I choose to be depressed and anxious and overwhelmed. I want it, so that I dont have to do anything. I want to protect myself, because if I stay in those negative states, if I do nothing and don't show the 'real' me, I would never get hurt. I guess it takes really really huge courage of me to decide to step out and show myself to the world. I'm scared but I'm heading there. I hope to overcome this big fear and can finally allow myself to do it.

    Making sense already at a few moments in, can totally trace it back, definitely my inner child. As a kid I woke up in a difficult household every day, had to go off to school and didn't know what I was going to return to. Feelings were so intense. I have also realised through the inner child work is that I felt like I had to be perfect /get things right all day long to produce a certain outcome when I got home. I developed ocd and anxiety at a very young age and carried it with me throughout my life and developed an eating disorder to try and gain some kind of control. I have to learn that I am an adult, and I am responsible for the day ahead and I will be safe doing my everyday things, as they are all mainly pleasant things! I couldn't understand why I felt so anxious every morning, even on the days where I had nice plans!! It makes sense to me now but I do still need to heal the childhood trauma. I am controlling/understanding my inner child now but there is still an issue with my relationship with my mother, I know. Next piece of work to be done / life lesson!! Thank you so much 🙏❤️ Love the analogy of the messy bedroom, very good way of visualising the issues! ❤️❤️❤️

    I had this feeling in the mornings when i worked at my old old workplace, but i decided not to give my old boss the power to push me down. Not to beleive wicked comments. Time has showed I was right. I became happy and successful at my new workplace, and enjoyed my work since then. Sometimes the shit comes from outside , but you can change that too.

    A routine that works for me is organizing my room for 10mins with musics, And i didnt accept to take responsability for morning red light feelings, cz i thought that is lame that when i just wake up i get these feelings... Now i am encouraged to do it, as you said it is really draining...

    I woke up this morning feeling very depressed and angry. Usually wake up this way every morning but this morning it was fierce.. There are really no current reasons for these feelings. Things are good! So I googled the question and was lead to your channel. I have many unresolved childhood issues and at age 73 they are still rearing their ugly heads. I have done a lot of work on these issues but more needs to be done. Thank you! P.S. Low morning moods can be traced to low blood sugar, I am diabetic, but when I checked this morning it was a normal for me, 136.

    How do I stop continuously being triggered by EVERYTHING? I cant watch TV, listen to music etc. Its like I need to go in a cave to hide. Ive already triggered my own thoughts and with external triggers my nervous system is on hyper drive with physical ailments. Congestion, nausea, shaking, sweating, tingling all over, stomach extended with gas and brain is swimming. Day after day after day. Where do I seek help when no one understands me?

    This video, and some of your other videos have helped me in the past and now. For the last 2+ weeks i have been riddled with red lights to the point that I dont even know what I'm truely being triggered by. Ive got some words like fear or uncertainty, unable to trust my innervoice, and fear of being wrong or doing the wrong thing. I end up going around and around and around, thinking all the time and usually i dont even know what im thinking about but i know it wont shut up. I am also a highly sensitive person so even tiny things like a squirrel chirping or kids playing just triggers me. I was doing amazing all year and physically i am on cloud nine but i just cant get this fear of uncertainty out of my head. Im constantly going to other people looking for them to tell me what to do when i know if just doing all of this to myself which makes me not trust myself which makes me look into other things to make me feel better where it leads me to feel like ill NEVER feel better (even though i know thats logically not true). So i go back to my spirituality of the Tao and Buddhism which all say let it go and be in the moment and then i feel like im doing everything wrong because i cant even enjoy the moment and then i call my parents who makes them all sick with worry and then i feel worse.... and down and down i go. So HOW do you get out of this neverending spiral? How do you find the root to the problem when you cant even figure out what exactly youre worrying about?😟

    I just learned about the 3 lies, and the “I can’t manage things!”, and I have GOOD reason to feel this way, believe me! This helps to know that it’s a normal response to my situation at hand! I’m disabled from 21 years of illnesses and my mentally disabled and angry son is getting out of jail in 10 days, and I’m the only one who can house him, or he goes to a shelter. We both have Lyme and he’s been having seizures in jail because of lack of treatment for Lyme there and bad food. He’s sleeping on concrete, and I had it set up for him to go directly to a psychiatric facility, but the judge said no. Now he doesn’t want to go! I’m on for a hard ride!

    Hi again I have a suggestion for a topic of a future video. How to cope and treat red light feelings when they derive from a more recent experience, not from the childhood. I did something I am ashamed of. I consider myself to be an honest person and anyway I went behind someone’s back. I have apologised and explained myself. Anyhow my feelings of disgust with myself persist. I feel like karma now will punish me, perhaps forever, and that I am not worthy of good things happening to me. When I try to meditate on good things and use the law of attraction for positive things, this memory shows up all the time saying that I am not eligible any longer. My feelings and perception of this are exaggerated, I know, but it keeps tormenting me. How can I turn this around? A video on this would be much appreciated . Thank you 🙏🏻 Carina

    I have watched several of your videos now and I know I need to heal my inner child as I often feel like a child trying to live an adults life . I am 47 but feel 6 or so and my core beliefs are I’m unloveable , unworthy , bad, wrong , I can’t cope and don’t deserve love or happiness as my childhood had lots of emotional trauma with unloving parents, critical, angry, abusive father and cold uncaring but overprotective mother. I know I should try to leave past in past but have tried for 24 years therapy after post natal depression and been on medication for depression and anxiety that long and I am really bad now and barely leave house as I don’t want to get out of bed as I don’t want to live as I can’t stand the depression or panic attacks or self hatred. I can’t move on from past or stop worrying about future even 10 minutes into the future. I know in work I should do inner child work but as the adult I think I agree with the child that I don’t deserve to be happy or loved as it’s so entrenched in my mind as if my own parents didn’t love me or show compassion why should anyone else ? . How can I change the way I talk to inner child to more positive?

    Thank you so much for your work. It would be great if you could ever do a video about anxiety related to chronic pain. Ever since my numerous injuries I have become very sensitive to pain and extremely hypervigilant. My brain is always sending signals that there are problems sometimes bigger than they are. I suffer from this on a daily basis and anything you could add would be great. Thank you!

    When u say intense? When i wake up i immediately feel dread. Hopelessness. nd despair. Its so bad a feeling my thoughts that its almost painful in my head. I start to get anxious and i have anxiety like symptoms. When this happens i dont understand why because i dont wake up thinking anything. Its just out of the blue. Its so bad that i fear going to sleep cause i know those feelings are coming soon when i wake. Also suicidal thoughts creep in telling me that its the only way out of this pain.

    I dont trust my Mum for not protecting me... I still cannot say no to her. I want to flourish. Thank you to you both. I need to stop over thinking everything.     Alex and David, your videos have been so helpful, especially the ones about inner child healing, which not long ago i realised mine was very wounded. But with that i got to a point of totally blaming myself for abuse and failure in last relationships. Can someone with wounded inner child really push someone so much for them to hit us multiple times in arguments, cheat, lie, dissrespect, silent treat them, etc., even if i love them and truly do everything for them but still act like a wounded child would? Or do we simply find someone already toxic because we dont value ourselves? How to understand what is real and what our child needs? I feel so negative about myself for it, thinking he was good even if he did bad stuff. If you could make a video about it i would appreciate it so much, or give any advices. Lots of love!

    Iva Ivanovic hi Iva. I am not a psychologist but I have someone very dear to me who has said the things you have, almost word for word. You are not alone or unusual in how your mind has responded to most probably events of the past. An overly authoritive and sexually abusive childhood made her a person constantly seeking love and approval. However the only love she was exposed too was not really love, but abuse and control. She does not recognise or trust true love. She thinks love comes with pain, conditions, and guilt so even though as a loving person she craves love, she is also scared of it and pushes it away. David in these videos is incredibly insightful I think. She did not cause the unholy events of her childhood, but she has, as a fragile child, made the coping strategies to deal with the pain. Therefore she also has the power to develop different strategies to deal with the pain. The powerful thing is that YOU do too. And to answer your question.....no you cannot push someone to be abusive. It is their nature based on control stemming from their own past or history. It’s is their fault, not yours. Good luck.     I have cptsd and unconscious anxiety. Im stumped. I also wake up with a sense of anger, dread, or sadness. I am starting to see a therapist next week. I am so positive though. I meditate alot and once I wake up, I can change how I feel. This is quite a large issue for me. Iv been doing therapy for two years and I have a beautiful life. I honestly dont know what questions I must ask myself but I like what ur saying about undealt with feelings from childhood. Without too much thought, I am aware that there is unresolved traumas but Im really not sure how one sorts that out? Any help would be appreciated. 🙏

    I wake up everyday in chronic pain after a bad car accident n other health issues that i have n these health issues have greatly impacted my quality of life. I wake up immediately in pain, I mean i sleep in pain every night n some days r worse then others. But my depression I've had for years but was under control until I got so many health issues n the chronic pain started. Ever since my health has gotten so bad n I hurt so much that it's unbearable some days my depression has come back worse then ever n grows worse everyday. I dont look forward to my days anymore because I never can know how bad my pain is goin to b so I can never really know how to even approach my day. Is there something you can recommend me to listen too when dealing with depression n chronic pain n health issues.

    Does inner child hurt really has to do something with our childhood . I mean I am stuck somewhere in the past when I was grown up . As far as i can recall I had pretty awesome childhood ,no complains as such . Although i have never thought about it deeply . My parents were very loving and caring except that father was little disciplinarian where we had to struggle sometimes .I mean I have someone in my life who became part of my life while i was in my 20s and i keep myself dragging back to that time when i had that hurt and still facing it with the same person .

    Hi aaron varela, This is a great question. As you will appreciate it would be inappropriate for me to comment on personal issues without full knowledge, history and background. Therefore I can only comment in general terms. It sounds as though your Shen/intuition has found the perfect place for you and you Human Centred Mind/Inner Child just needs a little reassurance about the finances. I would suggest creating something like a spreadsheet to project ahead and work on your budgeting, income and expenses. Your HCM/IC will enjoy this exercise as it will build trust and careful planning which I would guess it doubts.     What do you mean by doing the work. I don't know how to solve issues of the past. For example my mother didn't want me, how do I go back and work on that? I'm doing the healthy habits but it's the deeper work I struggle with.

    How do you let go of hurting someone u love by sending a wrong text to that person but lt was meant for someone else and he does not believe me ,?     I wish I could play the devil's advocate in your videos 😁 Alex can't do it because she totally shares your philosophy. David, when you say ”your mind doesn't control you, you control your mind” who the hell [that's where I live 😉] do you mean by YOU??! I see this phrase as a very unsophisticated mind trick - another one played by THE MIND, not you. There is no YOU without the mind (remember Descartes?) So, please, tell me who is the YOU that is supposed to control the mind. Maybe if I find her, that is me, that is the YOU in question, my life will finally start going with the flow.

As you have previously correctly quoted, I said: "the mind does not control you..." I do remember Descartes, he also does not say that your mind controls you or you are without your mind. I agree and say many times in our videos that there is no you without your mind. We are teaching: oneness, balance and harmony. Empowering you to live in your flow. You don't state your definition of 'you' but I define it in the videos as your 'authentic self': Human (inc.     You might think of it this way: you are not the thoughts you have, rather you are the space for your thoughts. When you identify with your thoughts and physical form, this is an illusion of ego / inner child. Who is this You then? An infinite expression of the Tao / God that is indescribable with words and only perceivable through consciousness (oneness with the Tao).

    First you have to recognize that our yucky thoughts are what cause our anxiety/depression. I also take antidepressants because I believe some physical serotonin problems made it almost impossible to be hopeful
