Jessie is so good that I expected to hear applause right after the song ended

Every time i hear this i want to cry, she puts so much emotion into this!! This is why Jesse Mueller will forever be a queen!!

I tried to listen to this song and You Matter to Me after seeing it on Broadway (I saw it a few weeks ago without knowing many of tue songs), and I honestly couldn't because I just got chills and started crying like I did when I saw it live. Now excuse me while I torture myself more because I absolutely love these songs

I thought the same thing except I thought the girl she had a crush on was in a abusive relationship and so was she. I didn’t think she was talking about herself in 3rd person perspective.

Skia Kardia Basically the musical is about Jenna, the waitress who sung this song, who has an abusive husband and an unplanned pregnancy. In this number she was lamenting the person she used to be and how much she had forgotten herself because you know, life, but now she has a baby on the way and is trying to find herself again. Watch the musical! There's a copy here in youtube. It's really good and the songs are awesome :)
