I read this novel 7 or 8 years back, although it was published in 1980. The character of Colonel Joll was absolutely crazy. J.M.Coetzee's storytelling capabilities are beyond this world! Let's hope the adaptation is as good as the novel!

I’m happy for Johnny.. The cinematography looks great.. His character here reminds me of that guy whose face melted when they opened the lost Ark..

Not even two weeks ago I recommended this novel to a colleague at work. It’s been at least 30 years since I’ve read it and it has not lost any significance. To see it’s been filmed is simply awesome!

There is something utterly magnetic about Mark Rylance. Despite not shouting out dialogue, in a Denzel or Pacino esque manner. He manages to engross and captivate you with his subtle mannerisms. He really is an actor's, actor.

Hurray for Johnny! Will always love him and his acting style. He deserves a comeback so much after all he's been through.

@Thomas L nah itll be great. Matt Reeves directed all 3 of the badass planet of the apes trilogy, and matt knows his batman lore and stripping straight from the long Halloween comics and more. Robert has also done nothing but solid films, indie to what looks like another hit from nolan in Tenet. Plus you have Paul Dano who is riddler, who starred in There will be blood with none other than DANIEL day lewis, I think you are strongly underestimating the batman movie that's coming. Not to mention zoe kravits looks exactly like a catwoman.

I just saw this last night. Awesome movie. Not too many movies that are 100% dialogue that can hold my attention, but this one did it.

Always a fan of Depp and love how he will take roles of unlikable characters with no redeeming qualities. Such a great actor.

Looks like a really cool movie, and it's nice to see Johnny Depp back in more serious roles!

As much as I like that, I think Depp would make a better Mr. Freeze. He’s one of those actors who knows how to be cold and reserved without being dull and unemotional, as his performance as Grindelwald showed me.

I remember reading mantel's "Wolf hall" and "Bring Up the Bodies", and I was convinced that *no one* could play Cromwell. Rylance changed my mind pretty quickly; he wasn't who like the Cromwell who I imagined in the books, but now when i re-read them, he's the Cromwell who appears in my mind
