@Valentina Savazzi I'm pretty sure getting romantically/physically involved with someone who depends on you in a doctor/patient setting is if not illegal (and I dearly hope it is) at the very least extremely morally reprehensible. In other words, that's fucked up and it wouldn't be strange if it gave you new trauma on top of your already existing depression. I hope you find actual professionals that will help you.

Exactly that. I never knew that hip dips and cankles are also designations of normal body parts, that according to the internet, have to go away! Remove our literal bodys lol. And often it is videos or websites of male doctors who suggest surgery. And I didn't know about cankles until I watched Inkmaster and one male judge said "That pin up girl has cankles. No one wants a hot lady with cankles on their body." While the ankles looked perfectly fine.

Exactly! As long as you're trying to be healthy, exercising regularly, and taking care of yourself then you're good and don't need to be comparing yourself to these fake influencers that are OBSESSED with coming up with countless ways to make everyone feel bad about themselves. I also think people need to learn to get hobbies and start enjoying life for what it is because you should be making the best of your life instead of obsessing over cellulite, not having a small waist, or the perfect nose.

Unfortunately for me, I have known about them since I was a child. Because my family, women, have pointed it out in other women, either surprise how a beautiful body has cellulite or disgust in how a body is full of them. Or how young a woman is to be having cellulite. And praise when a woman seems not to have it. Talked about how to avoid it, so you don't have to suffer that "uglyness". So I have been aware of them for years.

I told her she's 5'1 and I'm 5'4-5 our bodies HAVE to be different but I understood her, I never outright say it but I wish I looked like her because she's beautiful and here I am thinking she's as confident as could be. The most depressing part about all of this is the moment you realize that even if you have a low bodyfat %, work out multiple times per week and eat healthy, some of these "body goals" are simply unobtainable. During peak pandemic I pratically starved and worked my female body to 13.5% bodyfat (basically muscle competition level), and I finally felt... like I was almost there with my body, I just needed to lose a bit more on my thighs. But at the same time, I lost my period, my hair was falling out every day in chunks and my blood tests were alarming. And that's when I realized that I'd been told a lie. I did everything influencers tell you, to reach that ideal body, but in the end, I only ended up finding out that the price you pay is your health. It is physically impossible to look like that without hurting yourself in the process and it's so hard to accept that.

Yep! I have a body type where my BMI is fine. Never been considered overweight. But I look 10-15lbs overweight constantly because of my bone and fat distribution. I decided to get fit. Ate right and exercised. I lost like 15lbs. Even though I was doing it all right and exercised and felt amazing, I saw a picture of myself and I still looked chubby!!! I looked like I maybe lost 5lbs not 15! That's when I realized I'm never gonna look like someone else. I'm only ever gonna look like me. If I had lost anymore weight I was gonna start looking ill and eating way too little. So it's just not possible. I look like a rectangle and there's nothing I can do about it. All I can do is be healthy for me and be whatever my best self looks like, which isn't ever gonna be some slim thick chick.

this is why i love taking the bus. not to judge other ppl but just to see real ppl from all over my city and understand what humans actually look like. sometimes online we say "everybody has that new bag" or dress or whatever style thing. but when you actually look at people on a busy street (unless u live in LA or something) you see a mixture of styles: teens who ar tying too hard, college students who are not trying hard enough, old ppl who don't care and everyone else whose just trying t get to work/back to their families. and maybe u see the popular trend twice a week. not to just be like "touch grass" lmao but like the easiestway to understanding that social media isn't real life is by seeing the multitude of possibilities that our bodies have to offer. maybe the girls are SM are intimidating, but the old lady in a poncho, bright blue sweats and orthodic sneakers next to u on the bus isn't and she has as much of a claim to what people really look like as those social media girls we pretend are "everybody." I think maybe we just focus on the people we aspire to be like and ignore everyone else, but that worsens the problem. If you allow everyone to be worthy of paying attention to, then you realise comparison makes no sense because not everyone's goals, life position, and capcity is the same. I'm not fully there yet either but i think that realizing that the "body goals" influencers make up 0.000whatever% of the population and that even they don't look like that, and then looking at what people really do look like, not only online but also in our communities, could really help with reversing negative self-perception. and also deleting social media ofc

What I don't understand is why people, celebrities, and companies still continue to photoshop themselves and photos to look unrealistic, when all of us know its fake and can easily spot it. You could just be still going through puberty or you just have either a natural straight/rectangle, or a diamond body shape. Those shapes tend to gain weight in their belly area. So it is normal.

I also started puberty/period a lot earlier than everyone around me (4 grade) and I grew drastically in my hips, butt, and breasts and I just remember the way everyone around me would say I need to cut down on how much I was eating due to getting better. Even thought I was at a healthy weight for a girl going through body changes. It’s the reason I still have body image issues today. Crazy how I went through that as a young girl just growing into her woman body and was judged so falsely about it, even by family members.

Thank you for this video . I was so sad when I found out that my body type is rectangular and having a 24 inch waist, that no matter how hard I worked my body type would just look...like a door and I would never be this beauty. It's still hard, and makes me sad to think I will never be hourglass but I've learned to try to accept it .
