Great video man, also would you consider doing a video about the best seat covers to get for the GTI? I am shopping around but i dont seem to find any covers for the mk8.

This was really helpful! Just bought a 2022 Golf R, and I didn't know about the corner view, with the backup cam, or the one touch steering wheel heat shutoff.

I bought one in October. Same exact color too. I love this car. I’m gonna software flash it so I can get 300hp instantly but I had a choice of blue or silver and I love the silver. It doesn’t stick out which is what I wanted and it looks cool. I haven’t gotten pulled over yet (knocks on wood) 😂 I will be subbing btw

I'm not sure if your GTI is the same as my R, so this may not work. When it starts in "sport" mode showing the D and not the S, you can use the little nugget where you would put it in Reverse, Neutral, or Drive and just pull it down like you were going to put it in Drive. It should actually put it into a sport mode at that point, changing the D to an S.

yes Dustin , GTIs or Rs we don't have to change mode to 'Sport" again to have the S showing , just pull down the knob and voila , but great video!

Does the GTI have any cylinder deactivation on the DSG or the Manual?

According to the manual, emotion start is only available in the golf r. It will rev the car to just over 2000 rpm.

Also on DCC put it on the highest sportiest setting,feels like a race car mad stiff and pops and bangs louder

@Victor check if you have DCC as it’s and extra added feature.Press the mode button located by the triangle hazzard button .If u have adaptive dampers thers about 15 suspension settings to the left adjust more comfort and to the right adjust more sporty suspension

Just got a GTI s. Love it. As far as the sport mode, question, if you remember there was that guy out in California who had the Hyundai Elantra n and they got pulled over for too loud up and exhaust I bet the sport exhaust is too loud for stock California laws. And so the way the California test all that is that it is by the default of the car so if the car runs in sport mode when it starts and it’s loud, it will fail that test. So I think Volkswagen does that for people that have noise issues and noise testing so they won’t ever get a ticket for it because it will default to the comfort mode when the tester gets into the car even though it says sport mode.

Why anyone would need eco or comfort mode in a GTI or R. Thank you for your advice. I think GTI owners should have a class action against VW for not disclose product features

The GTI and R should default to start in Sport mode, with auto start/stop off and lane assist off.

If you press the gear shift down it will be in sport as well

Because the US spec gtis don’t get red in the headlights, only the Europeans do. It’s kinda strange..

It used to be illegal to project red or blue from the front of your car, assuming because it looks police car like, but the dodge redeyes get away with it now so I’m not certain of the legalities of it any more.

The id le on the new exhaust sounds great.

have you heard of the nurburgring mode? But that only works with the adaptive chassis

I have a question about the emotion start. I thought that only the Golf R 20 Years have this feature. And i can’t find any other vid where somebody talks about the emotion start on a normal GTI. 11:18

I love hidden features/tips and trick videos such as these, would love to see a part 3 next time! Also if its for efficiency or pollution purposes, I don't get why the car doesn't let me start in Eco Mode and still reverts to Comfort Mode 🥲
