This is not due to the filter but simply those bosch pumps fail. They are single piston pump, they make 1800 bar pressure and they are under severe stress. Metal parts are from the cam that actuate piston rod. Expensive repair since you need to change whole system.

Correct Mine just went out 3 weeks after warranty expired Vw quoted me $9000 to repair.

More like 297 bar or 2900 psi. But yes they fail quote often. What can you expect at those pressures and the rate it which it cycles. Crazy.

up nicely done. Replace mine with a Cp3 pump right after my wife put unleaded in it, at least she shut it down and parked it. 20 hrs later back up and running with its new hart from a duramax (injector pump)

Did you have to get an adapter for the valve on the pump? Or just put the VW valve on the Duramax pump?

@letsdiymyhome are you saying you put a metering valve in your VW cp4 that was for a duramax? please advise on that part # please.

Any way you can install a filtering material on the metering valve? Or inside thr chamber of the hpfp where the metering valve operates?

How does the metal swarf get through that dense screen? That screen looks clean, it should be clogged with the swarf as well?

My car is not starting and also showing 8bar hpfp pressure, does it mean the hpfp needs replacing?

Thats me this month (

I have a 2013 Golf TDi 2.0 (160k miles) which does not run unless you prime fuel with VCDS 2x (60 seconds) it starts immediately and runs perfectly for 5-10 seconds checked the fuel filter and then the solenoid/valve (the one in the video) and screens on top of the fuel pump and did not see anything clean fuel. No codes. No clue what to check next. Doesn't appear to be a timing issue. I have regular tools, full VCDS, and a voltmeter. What to check next? Ty ❤️

Thanks for watching our channel. , Make sure the fuel pump is running while cranking the engine, check fuel delivery pressure and volume and compare it with spec

Not applies to BNM, BNM is PD note commonrail. Problem here is damaged high pressure pump. I had same with my CBAB
