Fascinating that a feeling a pride could be elicited by watching children kidnapped, forced to their knees for a year and otherwise abused. Oh yes, a matter pride that a man has over 40 wives. The Benin culture was at the heart of the slave trade who prayed upon their neighbors who differed only in tribal affiliation. Misplaced pride I dare say.

The ancients believed in Gods, this was world wide. The similarities between Europe and Africa in this regard is astounding. The druids as well kept no written word,to protect the wisdom it was passed on through story, myth, music, legend and psychic energy.Cards and other games, were derived to help protect the energy contained within.

Knowledge that we dont know jet where they came from. And Africans have knew to keep the legacy of our anciens. Congratulations to the productions team, very good job, clean, professional and clear.

I love that I was brought up in a tradition similar to my spiritual cousin's in Vodoun, people think that just because they live in a modern age that it's alright to simply forget everything our ancestors worked so hard to preserve for our sake. I'm thankful for those in the diaspora held on to their ancestor's faith and heritage.

I am honored to have seen this video! I respect the their belief, however I find it it rough for a young boy to be put in that position, its a lot of pressure. As a Haitian and I understand this whole situation, its disturbing! Now I understand the reason why the Benin group made the trip to Haiti, because according to them they had lost the whole vodoou ceremnony rituals and Haiti was the only country that had it ,I hope they found it!

I love the story about the shadow being the guide. It's true, you have to trust yourself for guidance, you cannot rely on others to lead your life. My religious beliefs are Hindu even though I consider myself Omnist because I believe all religious paths are ones God would accept because he is more than a book, more than an idea, he is everything and nothing. The universe and ourselves.

Here's the problem with outsiders telling other peoples' stories. They cast their prejudice on others.. Vodun powers are not "dark." These are powers of life and change, just like your Jehovah giveth and also taketh away. Let Africa tell its own cultures through the people who own those cultures. Expropriation of culture is backward.

VOODOO MOUNTED BY THE GODS is a marvelous , excited, educacional documentary. I was transported to the magical world of Voodoo in Benin Africa today. Its wonderful to see the community participation in all the ceremonies, and how the children are active participants of this ancient Religion. How different from the religions of the West, where is not traditional and active participation of children in the ceremonies. Thank God I have an open Mind to value and apreciate the religion of my Ancestors, I enjoyed inmensally this great Documentary, where I sensed the power of the spirits in our mother Africa...and I wonder how sad to see the African American community in The United State without the knowledge of their ancestors and their ancient religion Voodoo. Christianity wiped out from their minds and souls The Gods of Africa....I am so glad to born in the Caribbean where Voodoo is practiced , even with the rejection of the catholic church, specially in Haiti, where Voodoo is the Spiritual strenght of the Haitian People.

Many cultural groups and religions have ceremonies of ascension and intimate connect with spirit in a group setting. Let the Voodoo practitioners be! Bliss, Light, Power and Protection!!!

gods expression of love is not limited by our fragile and incomplete thoughts, race, religion, time, history. However, it is comforting to know how people have and are finding a way to be somewhat god like. Well, the proof is in the compassion, tolerance, health, care of natural resources, productivity and the care of our young people for their elders.
