If you enjoyed this video please take time to watch my brand new short film entitled "Ase", which was inspired by teaching of Ifa. kzread.info/dash/bejne/pJWJxteTf9HQh6Q.html

Deborahkerr2002 yes but Yoruba is NOT A RELIGION , IFA is what you are talking about .. The mistake most foriegners make is believing that YORUBA IS A RELIGION WHEN THEY ARE ACTUALLY REFERRING TO IFA which is the NATIVE ANIMIST PRACTICE OF OUR FOREFATHERS ... YORUBA IS A CULTURE, A LANGUAGE AND A DEFINITIVE CULTURE but you can at least google it to find out more about that . we reside in the western part of Nigeria and also the Yoruba can be found in neigbouring countries adjacent to Nigeria . because of slavery the Yoruba are also present in some parts of south America too .

This is so amazing. Several years ago I stumbled on reading about the Yoruba religion. I immediately and somehow felt a very close connectiom to it. I couldn't talk to my friends about it because I grew up in a Christian household. Anyway, just a year ago, I had a DNA test done and it revealed my ancestors with strong roots in regions where Yuruba was prominent. This is all quite fascinating.

The Greeks stole our whole concept of gods and became the more popular. Black fraternities and sororities still praise it. Thank you for your contributions to the truth bro. Any kind of knowledge that helps free us a little more is appreciated.

Exu is more acknowledged in Brazilian Candomblé (a catch-all phrase for orixá worship in Brazil, even though other terms are used to differentiate between the different forms) than in Caribbean Santería. A Wiccan high priestess (disclaimer) wrote a book called Saravá in the 90s which had some information in it. I gave a copy of that book to a Puerto Rican Santera, which she graciously accepted. The founder of a Pagan organization was an initiate of Santería and brought the gatekeeper concept into his organization. As someone of Celtic descent with a last name that I share with some Gaelic speakers in Scotland, I'm a bit more of a Reconstructionist (Celtic, specifically) in many ways that I believe Pagans shouldn't be mixing and matching different cultural practices outside of their cultural context. Calling Irish deities, using sage to smudge ritual participants (a Native American practice among some tribes), and using West African djembe hand drums. REALLY??? I think that's one reason why Euro-centric Neopagans aren't taken very seriously by those practicing their native ancestral faiths. Sure, the djembe has a cool sound, but it would be great to hear more drumming with the ancient Irish bodhrán in the Neopagan "community" (or scene), especially among groups which call themselves "Celtic". I think that anybody into Ifa should visit Salvador da Bahia, Brazil. There they have way more terreiros than Christian churches. One of these years when I go back to Brazil I'll have to visit Salvador myself. I have an Afro-Brazilian Christian lady friend whose mom is a Candomblista, whose power she respects greatly. Brazilian Candomblistas use an older form of Yoruba in their rituals. 'Ilê', for example, means "home". I have a lot of respect for Ifa. It's great that Afro-Latinos were able to keep their ancient ancestral traditions alive. Unfortunately, most African-Americans have zero knowledge of Ifa, much less Fon-based Vodou. Ifa and Vodou: similar but not the same.

You may think you were forced into Christianity but you are wrong. Christianity and Ifa has similarities, which suggest that the western culture, simply whitewashed what they stole and presented it as if they were introducing us to something new. If you understand the scripture, you'll discover that almost all the events of the bible occurred in Africa. London, France, German, Portugal etc were all unknown to the scriptures, yet they are the ones introducing you to what belongs to you. The Ephod and Lot casting widely recorded and practiced in the bible is what Ifa in Yoruba religion is all about. Where in Europe do you find similar practices. The only crime here is that, they converted everything in the bible to white and made the devil and everything evil to be black. The real pagans of this world are the caucasians. They have no true God, faith or culture. Everything good, they stole from Africa and after plagiarizing it all, they condemn the original to paganism.

I am a Christian. Born and raised as such. It is the way that I worship God. But it would be very foolish of me to believe that my people didn’t know God before being given Christianity once stolen and brought to America. My spirit confirms to me that my people knew God way before Christianity. My people have always known God and will continue to grow with His presence. Thank you for this knowledge of the original relationship my people had with God. I am glad they didn’t forget or leave this information. It is important that we know this as a people. We must understand what we lost. We must go back.
