Voices of SCAD: Kristi and Mary

Why am I having chest pain? I'm a healthy woman with no risk factors?
-- Typical SCAD patient.
Kristi and Mary are superior athletes. They have done marathons, triathlons, and iron man competitions. Neither fit the profile of a person who has a heart attack. But both spent days in the hospital and months in cardiac rehab after suffering a SCAD (Spontaneous Coronary Artery Dissection) heart attack. In this video they talk about how they met, how Mary's experience helped Kristi (and vice versa), and how they continue to lead a life made fuller with top-level athletic events.
To improve awareness, please share this video with any woman you know who has had chest pain whose cause has not been specifically identified.
At www.scadresearch.org/about/ are links to three flyers, one for patients, one for emergency room personnel, and one for EMTs. Consider sharing them with any healthcare professionals or emergency responders you know.
