You should listen to VoicePlay’s latest one, We don’t talk about Bruno cover - it’s absolutely brilliant!

Rachel was in a traveling company of Wicked and has sung this part before. As I remember, on the video shoot day she had laryngitis so it’s a good thing they prerecorded. Geoff said once that they’d love to have Rachel in the group but she is too busy and the cost would br too much. React to some of their recent songs

Plus, she lives in Nashville, and they've kind of specified being in the Orlando area as being something they want in a group member since the rest of them are based there.

A masterpiece of an arrangement.

About them not being in costumes etc., I read that Geoff wanted this video to look like what people would see at a VoicePlay live show.

I believe it was also Emoni that did a song called "The Bones" with Voiceplay that was fantastic, check it out if you've never seen it.

Laynes beat boxing was as ridiculous as Rachel's high runs. The whole thing was phenomenal. I love that they kept it simpler because the stage was crowded enough with all of them and so much to listen too. It would have been too much had they been more theatrical for my taste.

Geoff’s arrangement is a masterpiece.

This was upbeat and fun just like your channel. Also that guy's voice was deeper than the grand canyon.

They actually asked her but she was headed to Nashville. Geoff had this one on his computer arranging it. It was nearly 2 yrs until he was happy with it. I love this. I was going to go to Tampa to see the touring Broadway company of Wicked. All set and I came down with covid. Bummer!

Emoni stepped in for Honey when VoicePlay was invited to join Home Free on the SingOff tour. Emoni's group, Ten, placed 2nd to Home Free. She has also joined Tim Foust in recent years at his Tim Foust and Friends shows.

I honestly didn't think they needed a elaborate set or costuming in this one, which may be because I'm not as familiar with the score/show as I am with their other medleys, so maybe I didn't have certain expectations? Geoff said this arrangement took him years and was a matter of finding the right voices for it as well as finding the right way to do the songs, so maybe by the time they got everyone on board and ready for this, they didn't want to spend any more time waiting for costumes and sets. He did tease in the 'filming behind the scenes' that as it was, it took a much longer time than usual for them to get everyone through makeup and wardrobe with having the two ladies on set.

I seem to remember that Geoff wanted this to look and feel like what it would be like to be at a VoicePlay show, especially after the pandemic and a lot of people not having had the opportunity to see them live for a long time - But I don't remember where he said it or if it's a false memory!

Great reaction, Maggie. I agree-I love it when they go all out with costumes, etc. Such a theater nerd. But this worked for me. If you get a chance and want to hear some bass, check out The Wellermen’s version of Far Over The Misty Mountains Cold. They recruited about a dozen awesome basses to really bring the thunder-it’s awesome.

So good.

I would definitely recommend checking out both Wicked medleys that Peter Hollens did. they're both the same medley, but performed with different people

Have you seen Geoff Castellucci's recent cover of the classic song "Shenandoah"?

I swear I hear a really high note (whistle ?) at the very end, above Rachel’s. No reactors have mentioned it, everyone is concentrating on Geoff’s note. Since even you did not mention it I am beginning to think I am imagining it. Can you listen to the last few seconds and tell me if I am crazy, and if not who is producing it?

How bout voiceplay phantom of the opera

This particular medley wasn't something I got a tremendous enjoyment out of. Solid singing just not a fan of the songs. That being said, I think you would enjoy the video they did with Home Free covering "Survivor". They do it in a zombies vs. hillbillys motif and it's a pretty fun video. Of course, then you get the enjoyment of Geoff and Tim performing together and we all know how you feel about these bass singers ;)
