I remember this song from back in the 60s, and occasionally listen to it. I have all the f their music, plus over 3,500 oldies from the 50s, 60s, and early 70s. I hav et one computer dedicated to only my music library. Lol. A great rye rendition of the original. Thank you for sharing!

During the BTS they had "bass lessons" with Geoff and Eli and Cesar got low enough they could have sung his part. Then, they had "tenor lessons" and Layne really got up there. I know Geoff can do 5 octaves and I'm pretty sure Eli and Cesar can at this point too. Layne actually has 6 octaves when you count sound effects. Add in DJ who is the Run King and you get amazing harmonies. It's not as flashy as some of theirs but OMG the harmonies!

Such a fun, cozy vibe from VP! I'm sure all the shirts will show up in their regular charity auction. XD

@@TeaTimeWithTravis Travis, I always love your reactions to Voice Play so I have a special request that I think you will love. Please do a reaction to Voice Plays...One minute musical ( Miley Cyrus ) the music & lyrics are by Geoff & it is hilarious. Also Voice Plays...One minute musical ( Light Bulb ) the music & lyrics are by Eli. They are short so you can do them both in one setting. These are a bit older & not many people know or have heard them before. People pass up some of the older great one's so they are not requested. Hopefully once the word gets out people will pay attention to them.

i don't remember the original, I'm guessing it wasn't big in the UK back then, but this is wonderful. You're right, when VP do a video they start with a concept of how it should look and sound, the full thing, with something like a story board, in the mind of whoever attanges it, Geoff or Layne, if not on paper/desktop. It can change along the way of course, but they know what they want, and do it. This is one of the advantages of not being with a record label, they can do things their way.

It also helps to have access to their own production studio in Layne's (and Tony Wakim's) PattyCake Productions. With lighting pretty much being Eli's visual strong point (well he also creates the backgrounds - like in 'Enemy' & 'My Mother Told Me'). So they are really in total control, not dependent upon set designers or unrelated directors.

This was kept simple and basic in the best ways and that is what made this song FIRE!!!!! Simple doesn't mean ineffective just not extraneous or superfulous. You don't have to be flowery or crazy to be great.

When Layne arranged this, he envisioned it being about the rooms they all have where they record and feel free to be creative. In addition to their arrangements, their attention to the look of the video helps make them distinctive. This was filmed in Rayne’s Room Recording Studio. Owned by Layne, they have filmed many videos here including ACA Top 10s and Chandelier. When Layne dressed the set he included items for each VoicePlay member, Deejay, his daughters, his grandmother, and his wife’s family. Items he added for himself included his violin, his hoverboard and a book of his favorite Disney movie.

For more Deejay with VP you have hos first apoearance in Bang. Lovely riffs there. They also recorded You're My Best Friend the same day as they did Man in the Mirror, which was the farewell day for JNone as he embarked on his Naval sejour.

The little toy on the floor between Deejay and Cesar did the galaxy lights

I've been hearing this 60-year-old song all my life and never felt anything but disinterest in it. I can't really say I didn't like it, I just didn't care for it. Tim Foust had some great vides from his do-wop album the this song got add only because I love Tim, not the song. This one is the first version of In My Room that I like. And will watch over and over. They're great in it. And the more I look at it, the more I want that shirt Cesar is wearing!

The Beach Boys can't hold a candle to Voice Play when it comes to harmonies. Voice Play did it much smoother & harmonized it better.
