@Hybby Z, he actually is pretty textbook narcissistic. After I stopped watching the video since I found his vibe EXTREMELY creepy/sociopathic, I hunted down several interviews and yeah - I was unfortunately right about having a personality disorder based on the subtitles of the interviews. He said/did several things during the interviews that were straight out of the DSM's criteria for this disorder. One of the interviews I watched was with his wife and 4-year-old-daughter, too and yikes - I felt sorry for them. :-/

In reality he uses a technique called voice activation so hes not in fact singing anything live and cant do those notes easily, those high notes are studio notes that can do with x amount of takes but not live, there are many videos showing his real live voice and its honestly a lot worse.

What you see is a very good teacher doing what he always does, but on youtube. His analyses are probably exactly how he'll work with his students so unlike a lot of other youtubers, there's no need for scripts or retakes. The technical editing of the video iteself probably takes the longest. Half of teaching is public speaking and being able to lecture fluently about your subject of expertise at the drop of a hat for any length of time. Honestly, these videos do a really good job of promoting his services. If I were interested in voice lessons, I'd hire Sam in a heartbeat. He has such a light hand with criticism, and it's always so constructive! He never forgets to mention the strengths on top of the weaknesses and he appears to have the patience of a saint.

I was pleasantly surprised when I saw Vitas and Dimash videos just now, because they are (relatively) unheard of in vocal communities that I'm around, and have been a massive inspiration to me in my own singing. Yes, Vitas' charisma which almost comes off as hubris just makes one love his performances! As your wholesome comments section says so often, your concise, natural explanations of what's happening are very welcome, and I have much to learn. As someone who was never trained myself, but has been singing for a long time, I'm always keen to pick up insight from those who had proper learning. Anyways! This is exactly one of the things i mentioned i love from you. Diversity. Tool and Devin Townsend and now we go to Vitas, and it's perfectly ok. I would love to hear your analysis about "Powerwolf". I think "We drink your blood" fully shows how astonishing their singer is. Hope you can do it some day. I send you a hug, Sam, keep up the good work!

I know absolutely nothing about singing and all that is included in that, but how you explain it makes it so easy to understand what is going on in all the clips you react to. I'm addicted to watching your videos, seriously its a problem lol...I love your energy and even when someone isnt at the top of their game or something doesnt go as planned, you have no problem explaining what went wrong or why something didnt sound good while also refraining from belittling them or laughing like I've seen so many in the music community do, you seem like a very genuine person and its so refreshing to see. Keep up the great work cause Lord knows I'll be here watching!

I absolutely LOVE it that you're responding to videos that put entertainment on the foreground (I loved the Devin Townsend one) instead of full-blown vocal powerhouses. Which is nice too, but I love the change of pace. Love love love.

Sam, I've been loving your videos for the past few weeks now, it's obvious to me that you're talking about music from a place of passion and love for the topic, and that made me sub instantly. For someone to have something that they can talk about for hours on end just because they love the topic that much is just the best thing to me, and I love seeing you talk about music on this channel. Keep doing you, dude, and i'd love to see you react to Eurovision, since that's a passion of mine and I love seeing other people's takes on the music shown in the competition.

Hi, Sam! I adore your professional reactions! We haven't watched any Dimash reactions for a while. Could I ask you to react to Singful Passion song by Dimash. He showed the range which you didn't see in his previous songs (from really low to incredibly high) and also one of the tecnique which I never seen with any of one pop musicians. I know you reaction to his SOS was very popular and discussed a lot! DKIFC

To add a suggestion, i would mention Gåte, from my home country, as they bring some interesting styles/techniques from old folk songs. "Gåte - Rideboll & Gullborg (Live in Oslo at Rockefeller Music Hall)" is pretty good. Keep doing what you're doing!
