I was born and raised in Mexico and I grew up listening to vicente Fernández my whole life now I got 4 beautiful kids 3 girls and 1 boy they all love chente and the day the die all mi kids were crying and so did I he Nissa the best singer of Mexico aka el Rey de la ranchera today 12/15/21 and am still crying every time I hear a vicente song It hurts. Chente kept me grounded to my roots when I left home at 19 to serve our country in the US Army. I was alone in a black and white world, he kept me and a few of our friends happy, sad, and proud... all at the same time.. QDEP mi Chente.❤

this is the great charro of Huentitán about 10 minutes from me but I lived in a place called Tlajomulco de Zúñiga, which is a few hours from my house the day he passed away was a very big day for all of us who live in Guadalajara Jalisco it was the day of the virgin of guadala a soccer match and sadly the day of the death of this great icon of our land

I've been a fan a Chente for 13 years (when I started learning Spanish) and have 5 CDs, a few DVDs and a 45 of him. He'll be missed. RIP Chente 1940-2021.

Not only a great 🇲🇽 talent but the most humblest entertainer who sang to & for the working class!!

I grew up with Chente my heart ♥️ hurts so much right now. I had the privilege to see him in concert 4 times the first time in 1989 with Roció Dúrcal best concert ever. He’s a legend and his legacy and music will forever live.

Andy, not only did I live through out my life with his music, but so did my dad. And my grandfather. His music passed down through generations, and it wasn’t a phase or a fad. Not many artists can do that. Let alone have the radio stations still play his music and not a single person be tired of listening to it.

Oh my god I'm over hear because I just lost my brother about 3 weeks ago and he passed away at the age of 62 we shared a special connection because our birthday is December 23 so we were 5 years apart. And I know he lived his life the way he wanted.

His voice reaches my soul like few others can, and his kindness is rare especially at his legendary status. His death was devastating but I'm glad we will always have his music to remember him by. I would like to take this moment in my day to tell you Andy how much i admire you and your channel and how much i admire you. Chente was the main influence that drew me to the música ranchera from a young age and his passing hurts every day knowing that he is gone. Just to know that there exists such a level of appreciation for the genre outside of the Latino community brings tears to my eyes. For me El Mariachi is not only a symbol of my Mexican culture but a symbol of who I am. I hope that in my generation they're individuals who long to connect with genre the way i wish too and not let die one of the most iconic sounds in traditional Mexican music. Happy times, sad times his songs were the silhouette in the background of all family gatherings. Truly a loss to humanity I hope he is resting now peacefully.

Andy, this song gave me the chills.

I have been a fan of his since I was a kid. And even more once I was old enough to understand lyrics and voice. Got to see him live once and was completely amazed. Loved him! Oh and its not water he drinks during his concerts. Yes he does have water but if you see brown in the cup it is Tequila more specifically Anejo Tequila. Im sure there is videos out there showing him pour his own drink or someone else, but also with bottles on his table and even drinking straight from the bottles and sometimes givin to him by someone in the audience. R.I.P. To El Rey!!! Legend!!!
