He's one of those actors that always feel like a main character regardless of the role he's playing. He takes over any scene he's in. I haven't watched Hannibal for a long time but still, the fact that I cannot remember even a single actor in that series other than Mad is a perfect representation of how he just takes over the whole space he's in. Not to mention that with the kind of predecessor he had in that role, it's even a miracle that he managed to play his own tone and still produce such a great Hannibal!

Viggo is 7years older than Mads, they both speak Danish and are two handsome devils, they could pass for brothers on screen, but just as easily play lovers, colleagues, enemies etc. It's called acting, and I'd really just want to see them create movie magic together as they're both phenomenal in their craft. Don't really care about the genre, though an intimate smaller indie piece would really give them room to flex those acting muscles.

Yeah, it also has a different feel than a movie character when you get to interact with the character. Personally I'm no big fan of boss fights, but with Cliff Unger it was a unique feeling of calmness in the heat of the battle - as if time stood still, much thanks to Mads' voice acting. Death Stranding is quite unique in so many ways, one thing is the action to calmness contrast. The Cliff-BB cutscenes also plays a big part in that - a moment of calmness before heading out again. Oh, and thanks for the birthday greeting, Mads

I’m so glad mads is getting the recognition he deserves. I never thought someone could play a better Hannibal than Anthony Hopkins till I saw mads performance.

one thing about mads mikkelsen is he's gonna defend his characters no matter because he understands them in a deep way. idk if it's the “see the beauty in dark characters” thing or if he just likes them but i really love it

He absolutely murdered it as Hannibal. He probably outperformed Anthony Hopkins🔥🔥

He definitely did. Mads' performance is much more subtle. Though we should give credit to writers as well, since the show is not a direct translation of Thomas Harris' books to TV, and the character of Hannibal is different.

He is one of the reasons Casino Royale is an outstanding film. The first third an action film, second a drama/thriller, third a tragic love story all combined to make a terrific film. Craig, Mads and Eva are on absolutely top form and justifiably Royale gave them the exposure to be big stars.

Mads have that kinda aura that surrounds him that make him the fearsome yet the wisest guy in the room the Valhalla Rising was just the peak of his art for me, the tapestry of that movie was so oppressing like something crushing your chest that i can't watch it again; yet it was masterfully crafted even the silence was key to understanding that movie which was interesting to say the least !!.....i love Mads he is just special !!

If you like Mads as an actor, watch HANNIBAL. If this had been a movie, he would have been nominated for an Oscar and maybe won it. His presence is breathtaking.

"Pusher" was absolutely amazing - only movie I ever saw twice in the cinemas. I lived in that part of the Copenhagen (Vesterbro) at the time (1996), with fringe acquaintances to "the scene" and an observant eye. Real locations, real vibe. No glorified crime, just a tour of the layers below.

Plays "One-Eye" on a movie called Vahalla Rising. I think he never spoke but his acting is incredible.

Valhalla Rising is such a dope film and Mads character in it is probably one of my favorite film characters.

I am sending prayers into the void for a fourth season of Hannibal, you have no idea what that would mean to so many of us. He is absolutely phenomenal.

Not having more seasons feels like a grave injustice. There was such poise and elegance in that show it rubbed off on the viewer themselves. Wish I had a couple hundred millions to just hand it over for the continuation of this piece of fantastic art and it would be money well spent, every cent of it.

My favorite actor of all time! Love him in everything especially his Danish films. Hope he’s allowed to be more than a villain in Hollywood’s eyes (even though he’s such a great one)

The first film I saw him in was Polar. There are very few actors who can pull off a movie with just one other cast member, almost no dialogue and no back story. He's one.

Amazing video. Seeing him in The Hunt was the reason I started following his movies. He's a fabulous actor!
