Just wanted to say that of all the reaction I've seen, you're the only one who caught the expression of pure pain and loneliness, and potentially suicidal thoughts. I appreciate that you emphasized that link and that you spoke to the hearts of anyone in that state. Thank you. ❤️

Today is that day that I feel this way. When reality of my situation (I have been married less than two years ad for your two half of that my husband first with the young lady I raised from an infant Anthony with my best. He has expressed that he hates, I have heard it make fun of me behind my back, David conspired with that former best friend two in my life and yet I still loved him. Did reality took hold suddenly this, at that I realize that I didn't matter. That I'd never mattered at all, to anyone. I had no place in this world. This song always makes me feel a little less alone. But please pray I get through the day.

As a survivor of suicide by God's grace alone since I should have died that night, I give you all this advice. A suicidal person will listen to within themself and buy into all the way, that they are alone and no one cares. That is the one universal tell that will signal to those nearby that this person needs help if they care to even say it out loud; sadly most don't. Isolation also prevents this from being shared as well. If you hear someone say similar, take extreme notice, it is a universal sign of major depression and a vocal road sign that signals potential suicide up ahead. Hear what she wrote in the lyrics, she sings and speaks and no one hears and no one cares just 3 days before she tries to OD.

i agree, im scared of myself lol ive never actually done it but i have been so close to just do it, and i just need one person to show me they care and that would be enough, thankfully i did have a person all these times i was about to do it because when i said i was going to, this person didnt leave my side and cared about me. But we are not in a good path right now, and i fear to lose this person and lose myself into all my thoughts and depression, i am dependent on that person right now, and i dont know how to do it alone, and im scared of myself

Exactly! I've read so many comments bashing people around her for not helping her, but they don't seem to understand that when you're in that mental state, it doesn't always matter what people say or do for you. You feel like no one is there for you and that you're alone. I don't know if no one really wasn't helping her or if people were but she didn't recognize it at the time, but it's not uncommon for helpers to go unnoticed in that state. I've been the helped and the helper. If a person isn't open to help, they can't be helped, at least not fully. I had to end an 8 year old friendship because her depression was so bad that there was nothing I could do for her. I stuck it out and tried my best, but she started treating me poorly and my own mental issues were triggered. Then we both were suffering. It just wasn't healthy for either of us. I hated to "abandon" her but it was for the best for both of us. We needed a break.

I love your reactions because you are such an empathetic person and it's so endearing to watch. You feel music and you feel peoples' emotions through their music and that is special and genuine. As someone who has been in that exact place Demi was in, she really does put into words the feeling of being that low. It's such a difficult thing to describe and explain to people but here she is making a song explaining it and performing it must've been so difficult. I could not do it. She's a gem.

  • @AnnieNYC1

I am responding here even before your reaction is complete. Because I stopped the video, too, to write this: You said that this was the bravest thing you've seen this week and that "she just started right back up again" - yes. Starting right back up again may be the definitive description of the courage it can take to rebuild life after something like what she'd been through, and so many others have, as well. She gave us all the gift of truth and vulnerability, in a time when both tend to be scoffed at. And she moved millions. What a gift. What a powerful, selfless, courageous woman she is. And thank you to you, too, for your truth, your genuine vulnerability. May we all hold more empathy than judgment, more courage than scorn, more healing than denial, more compassion than veneer. (Also, having listened to the rest of your reaction now ... yes. yes. yes!)

Best reaction video to this performance!! I love how you're also not afraid to show emotion and empathy for others. This was definitely a moment of "let's all cry together now." Honestly, I've seen this performance more than 10 times now and every single time it brings me to tears. As a Lovatic myself and someone who has also struggled with depression all my adult life, it hits me hard. But thankfully music is the most cathartic, healing and relieving thing in the whole world. 💓

Hello Christi - this is an overwhelming message from a young woman who has already experienced just about everything negative in the few years of her life, for which others need 80 years and more. I understand this whole song as a reappraisal of her past - but also as a reproach to the establishment, her management, her environment, that they were not there for her when she urgently needed their help. She shouted it out, but was not heard - an example of the harshness of show business - show must go on and never show weakness, otherwise the others will eat you up - that must have been how she felt, without reason she will not have given herself to alcohol and even worse drugs. It's a miracle for me that she has found her way back on stage at all - it takes an immense will to get back into the public eye and expose herself to the pressure of show business. I wish her all the best and hopefully this time her dreams will come true. You are characterized by the fact that you can feel with such people - empathy is a gift from higher powers and unfortunately not everyone is blessed with it. I thank you for your wonderful reaction

There is some songs got grab my attention. Demi grabbed my soul and my heart. This song is soo great. Ive been Sober for 13 year plus. No song..i mean NO SONG, has made me feel what i felt when i was drinking...the emptyness, the loneliness and the depression. I heard this 2 days after the Grammys. But i cam across it watching tributes for Kobe Bryant, R.I.P. I had been drinking for nearly 30 years. Ive tried soo many times before to quit. I finally said enough is enough, after a 10 month binge of 2 liters of volka a day. It wasnt easy, but i did it. No fall backs, no cheat drinks. I didnt do it alone, my then girlfriend, now my lovely wife, Marisa, both drinked heavily. And we both quit. I couldnt have done this without her and my stepson, Jonathan. I lost my first born, Joshua Orion Rico, to alcoholism June 24, 2018. I thought i could help him quit, but i couldnt. He lost his mom, Ina, to alcoholism 11 months earlier. We lost 9 family members in 2018, with was very hard on my wife, which was mostly her side of the family, and only our son, Josh, on my side. Depression brings the alcohol. The drugs. Its just something we try to fill the emptiness inside of us. Thank you Christi Bovee (i hope i spell that right) for your reaction. Not just that, ypur message following...YOU NAILED IT!! Thank you. Everytine i hear "ANYONE", i cry. But i love this song. Remember, to everyine who read this, you, maybe someone close to you, family and friends, if you see them struggling with alcohol, depression might be right there with them. Reach out and hug them. That might be the hug to help them get out of their darkness Again, thank you Christi. Peace and Love. ✌❤

By the way, one other Demi Lovato song you should react to . . . . to better understand the journey she's been on the past year, or so, you should listen to her song, "Sober". That she sang in mid-2018 when she first relapsed and was an apology to her fans and herself. She promised to get help in that song. Unfortunately, within a month, or so, she overdosed and almost died. Paramedics had to use Narcan to bring her back. The song to which you just reacted, "Anyone" she wrote 4 days before her overdose and was a cry for help. The song I suggest, "Sober" was about 1-2 months prior to "Anyone" right after her first relapse - kzread.info/dash/bejne/qIOGq9Ghn6yanZM.html After that song, please react to 15 year old Courtney Hadwin's cover of "Sign of the Times"!!!!

This poor girl is in trouble. I don’t know if this performance will make a difference in her life. Maybe getting away from industry and try something else where cameras are off her for a little longer.
