There have been in my 73 years very few add singers that reach the deepest part of your soul and stir up such great emotion. Hair standing up on your neck, chills etc. Barbra Streisand has it, Celine Dion has it, Josh Groban has it, Johnnie Mathis has it. This young man may be the greatest I have ever heard. I was an inspired singer in my younger years and I regret to this day that I did not pursue it. He truly has a gift from God and I think that he will become a super star under the right leadership.

Let's talk about the degree of difficulty of what just happened here shall we? lol First off, he's singing LIVE, with just one take...ONE. Then he's sitting down the entire time! Then he switches voices back and forth with no time to breathe. While all these are happening he's singing in Italian (which he doesn't speak) and English but his native language is Filipino. To top it all off, HE IS SELF-TRAINED while being homeless!! I mean my goodness gracious! Mad Props to this man he truly is a man of determination. Philippines should make a movie about him. C'mon Philippines where you at?

Singing Bocelli's music, by itself, is amazing. Same with Céline Dion. Doing both, at the same time, with quality is outstanding!

I remember my first reaction to Marcelito was much the same as your Beth. If this had been a duet sung by two people, I would have loved it. That one guy performed this duet is truly amazing. Love Mr. Pomoy, love your reaction.

I think its my 62 time I hear this performance through different reactors and other shows. I always get a smile on my face. PS. Beth You re a really good vocal coach reactor...and very sweet too ;)

pure Bel canto! Singing a duet with yourself. Unreal! Great breath control with no cracking or sliding into the note in transition.. Great Talent and his back story makes me want to cry. A child of the Streets making a star of himself. Bravo! He deserves a lot of respect.

It's my understanding that Marcelito Pomoy taught himself this song by listening to and mimicking a recording. His performance is gorgeous considering that he requires a translator to carry on a conversation in English even though he understands it well but has trouble speaking it. He speaks the Philipino broken english, but being self taught is also singing in English, Italian and Chinese. Possible more by now. He grew up on the streets from age 7, and now is married and a father! His ambition serves him well in whatever he does!

He is on the road to success. I just bought tickets for his US 13 Tours starting on June 28.

I loved watching your face light up when reacting to this self taught young man with such a God given talent. He is amazing.

marcelito lived in the streets from 7 to 24 years of age.. he discovered his singing talent when he was 7 and later discovered that he can do 2 voice when he was 18..he never had any voice lesson or coaching its real raw gift that he developed through years of singing..he had a tough life before but he never gave up and fight...

Many of those in attendance were ignoring Marcelito until he sang Andrea Bocelli's part. Almost everybody suddenly got their phones and started taking videos. They were absolutely amazed.

Marcelito's story is nearly as amazing as his voice. His mother rejected him at birth and custody was given to his father (they had separated), unfortunately his father was serving a lengthy prison sentence, so little baby Marcelito spent the first 2 years of his life in prison with his father. He was then adopted by a prison guard, but it was not a happy childhood and at 9 years old he discovered they were not his real parents and he ran away. He survived by selling food snacks on the city streets. He says he learnt to sing with two voices (not uncommon in the Philippines) as a way to combat the loneliness. He earned extra by singing in bars and cafe's. He met a girl, fell in love and they married. They now have a child of their own, and he has been reconciled to his birth father. He entered Philippines Got Talent last year 2016, and of course won it hands down. He has turned his life around and I am so happy for him.

He leaves me awestruck! Head voice, chest voice, and everything in between. He mimics anyone. What explains that? Oh, btw. He is self taught as well.

Note that he grew up in poverty in the Philippines, part of it living on the streets. And that he says that he has never had any voice lessons or coaching at all. It is all natural from his heart. THE PRAYER was his winning piece at PILIPINAS GOT TALENT SEASON 2 held back in 2011.....he has no proper vocal lessons before joining PGT. He start singing when he was 20 though he was much aware of having a high pitch voice yet he ignored it. He joined PGT to bring his family back together though his parents both had different lives that time at least he gets reunited with them and be in good terms with his siblings from both parents and he gathers back his siblings that his father settled for adoption with nearest relatives when he gets into jail....thank u for reacting on marcelito's rendition of the prayer....pls do react on his version of the POWER OF LOVE too by CELINE DION ....salamat and mabuhay👀💚💚💚👀

Thank you so much Beth for what you said. I got flack about my opinion and I believe the larynx is very flexible if we give it a try. We can stretch it or compress it. I feel you need 3 components to do this. Larynx, nasal cavity and mouth. Your shaping determines, like you say, your harmonics. Once again you are the first one I have listened to who knows what you are talking about. Cheers from Canada.
