He sang this live on the radio, one take, no mistakes, no auto tune. He is inside a converted studio bus, close quarters with the crew and equipment right in front of him. Beast mode. Legend!

I think this is his absolute masterpiece. Sung in perfection and the change of voices too.

Going back to school would be hard for anybody, so that just shows even more about what kind of person he is. That takes some dedication!

Thank you. You are only the second vocal coach, of the numerous I've watched , to mention he was sitting. Two coaches commented on his improper breathing two times in the middle of words not taking into account he was sitting which surely affected his breathing. Also this was for a video taped at a radio station with who knows what going on in the background which might account for his wandering eyes.

Humble roots and talent galore like so many Filipino singers...4th impact was humble x 4. I hope you react to them one day. They just put out their first original music after many years of struggle.

Great reaction with the exception of your "distraction" comment. He is in a radio studio which is a bus in Manila, Philippines. When he performs on stage, he is not distracted. The "yawn" after the end is related to a joke between Marcelito and the audio engineers. They kidded Marcelito that he had swallowed Celine Dion so he pretended to spit her out after he finished the song. About the wandering eyes. There was an incident a long time ago when a fan of a singer was not able to control herself and her emotion then kissed the performing artist right then and there. I was told about this story and what happened there several years back. Since then, performing singers are more aware and are watching diligently on some movement before another misbehavior something like that should happen again. When we listen to beautiful songs and music, we usually cry before we knew it which is emotion. We are touched by the songs we hear and produces some sort of influence over our personality for a moment or made part of our emotional being. Songs that we love, when we hear them again, make us love the one singing, who ever it was. Music and songs are fascinating because songs and music are language of love.

The wandering eyes is a momentary break from focus. He really isn't nervous or looking around. Notice how he centers himself by closing his eyes a great part of the time. He does NOT do that on stage. He has a charming stage personality and connects well with the audience. He is humble and even jokes with them occasionally. He is often asked to demonstrate that unusual ability to switch instantaneously from male to female voices and can do it flawlessly. He can also sing with power effortlessly as you saw in this performance - sitting down. That crazy thing he does there at the end of this video is him "removing" the two personalities of Celine and Andrea from his voice - this was apparently in response to a joke between him and the sound engineers. Cheers.

When you think about his history, you would think he would have a lot of expression when he sings. However, i can also understand if he feels hesitant to dig into those emotions because if I had gone through what he had gone through, it would be hard to connect to my emotions because its so revealing a raw.

Marcelito is also singing in two languages, English and Italian, neither of which is his native language. Sitting down is difficult for breath control, indeed. Not too shabby for a person who has had no vocal training, and lived the first part of his life, homeless, on the streets of the Philippines.

This radio station Wish 107.5 is located in a bus, yes , a regular bus that drives around the city of Manila (Philippines) and park on a busy street. You have commuters driving and standing around watching you and listening (yes, it has external speakers on the bus) to you while you attempt to sing on this radio station.
