the moment before the d8, it has been said by dimash that he actually meant to do something like a d7 or something (like in the duet with li yugang "drunken concubine + diva dance"), but it was the first time that he missed a note and went to make up for it and hit the d8 completely by accident. he said it was unintentional, but just proves how insanely talented this guy is.

That’s exactly what it always looked like to me. I’ve seen him a few times do something u can subtly tell he’s not happy with, & then he usually does some kind of spontaneous flourish or gives it even more right after haha. Only he could make a mistake that is one for the record books 😹

I've never heard him say that it was by accident, he said that it was "spontaneous" when he was asked if it was planned. To me, that means that when he started singing he wasnt't thinking "Ok, in this one I'll make a D8", he just did it while performing, when he felt like it.

Another great reaction and analysis. Dimash wrote “Unforgettable Day” himself when he was still a teenager. This was at the annual Gakku TV open-air concert, and there were approximately 150,000 fans in attendance. Gakku TV is the first music channel in Kazakhstan that exclusively airs content produced in Kazakhstan, promoting Kazakh music, culture, and patriotism. Dimash set a record for the highest note ever sung in a live concert, during this 2017 live performance. It is his now-famous D8. He not only hit a D8 but he also did a glissando and held it for several seconds, even adding vibrato to it. It was a spontaneous attempt because he missed the slightly lower note he had initially aimed for. During the performance, he made certain to erase any doubt that this was indeed anything other than a true live performance by moving his mic quickly from side to side as he sang. Although, there are still the occasional trolls who claim that the note was pre-recorded or that it was an electronic glitch. The Guinness Book of Records lists the highest note ever produced by a male as an E8. That was done in a studio, where the singer was just trying to hit the note. He held the note briefly after a proper warm-up and several attempts.

Apparently for woman the highest note is G10 by Brazilian Georgia Brown - she did it with glissando and very nicely - kzread.info/dash/bejne/e5VpmbifdMSrg9o.html For man the record is held since 2019 by Iranian Amirhossein Molaei - F#8 - very briefly and with few attempts - kzread.info/dash/bejne/Z3qZo8iEgsaeoqg.html

What astonish me the most in Dimash is how powerful the whistle is and how long. But to be honest it is not his best quality. He is master of emotional songs where he uses his voice purely for expression of emotions, not to "show off" or demonstrate his impeccable technique and limitless possibilities.

Wonderful mistake :)

First, you are deadly charming! Secondly, you are artistic, emotional and professional! Thirdly, this humor... I love it! When Dimash makes movements with a microphone, but nothing is heard, I thought for a long time - what kind of technical failure has occurred. I thought that they turned off the live sound in order to turn on the whistle tone soundtrack ahead of time. But then I decided with a laugh that - YES! It went beyond the frequency characteristics audible to man! And you were the first to say this out of all the vocal teachers! I laughed heartily in the silence of the night! (a dolphin, a bird? No! Dimash!)) But, no one has noticed yet that when, after this note, he gets to his feet, someone, apparently in the hall, really whistles this very note and also with "floating in"!

You’re reaction to the D8 almost looked like it more than startled you, like it may have been painful. You are correct about needing to see more of his stuff before doing a comprehensive video, because he has A LOT of techniques that he only uses when needed which may mean it’s only in one song. He just did it again in his new song “Stranger” where he unveiled a technique we haven’t seen from him yet (as well as showing off a more expanded range). Thanks again!

If you watch any song where a phrase is particularly demanding, he opens up his body and moves his arms and he says that he goes down on his knees to concentrate the energy up through his torso. Did you catch the person whistling in the crowd as I had mentioned? To my untrained ear that was about the same sound. Dude can actually whistle with his cords. So glad to have seen you react to it finally. Love your vids!!

OH MY GOODNESS I DID. At the time captured in the video, I was experiencing such a sensory overload being exposed to this for the first time that I didn't notice it. But then when I was editing it, you popped in my head and then I listened for it, heard it, and couldn't un hear it!! It is the EXACT same bloody pitch. There was a secret musical prodigy in that crowd, and they're out there, somewhere. I appreciate you so much 💜

@@Haidderispro sure. The d8 dimash hits at 9:32 sounds a lot like the whistle from the crowd at 12:24. Hope that helps.

As for Dimash singing on his knees, remember he's also trained in traditional Kazakh singing which is done sitting cross legged, so has the muscular development from that as well.

I just found your channel but I think I already have a wee crush. It's so refreshing seeing someone who's not just extremely knowledgeable but properly eloquent. Never mind the fact that you can reproduce most everything that Dimash does. You're like the Stephen Fry of vocal analysis... and just as cute!

O dear, I enjoy your reactions to Dimash. You are cute and funny. ☺️ Yesterday Dimash just threw his next bomb in our sweet and peaceful Dear family. 😁 And it was nuclear . 😆 I still can't put myself together. I told nothing can surprise me any more. It calls STRANGER and you can find it on his channel. Just don't forget to breath and you'll survive. 😉😁
