intertwine pinkies is a true translation. Korea has a culture were in, if you make a promise to someone it's most often a pinkie promise. it's not a childish thing there. adults make pinkie promises too. that's what Jimin is talking about. Korean listeners would hear the word promise and automatically make the connection to pinkie promises. i always found it a sweet sentiment.

Jimin worked on this song continuously since last April. He wrote the lyrics with only some help from RM who mainly helped to translate some of the lyrics to English. Jimin also composed the melody as well with some assistance from one of BigHit in-house producers Slow Rabbit. In a post Slow Rabbit praised JImin for working so hard creating this song going to the studio any free time he had That his ever so busy schedule allowed. He also said that JIMIN even went to the studio to listen to the guitar sounds and gave his opinion offering suggestions to make sure the sound was just what he wanted. In other words Jimin was involved in every aspect of making this song. Supposedly one of the reasons it took Jimin so long was that he continually worked on the melody changing it up. Also, by the way, the English translation in this lyric vid aren't totally correct. There are many inaccuracies. Even some parts totally missing. Like when JIMIN'S first starts out saying he's in pain and hurting. Also the correct lyrics say that he is saying he is alright but then again I'm not really. In other words, how many times does one tell others that they are ok telling a "lie" when in actuality they're not. The best English lyric vid I would highly recommend is by MINAMOCHI. It's a shame that this vid since it was made so fast ended up having the most views so everyone is seeing this incorrect one instead especially after Jimin worked so hard on the lyrics and so many aren't getting the benefit of seeing the correct interpretation!

I love how he caught the pinky thing. When I first read that line, I was excited cuz the line and the title made perfect sense since people intertwine their pinkies when they make promises, only difference is Koreans "seal" it with their thumbs while Americans usually don't

He's making promises with us armys to never give up on yourself. We all know that Jimin has always been quite harsh on himself especially with his stage issues. That's why he's always practicing much more. So even though we feel alone, don't ever give up on yourself. That's one of the lyrics. Just my opinion~^^

Actually, people from non English speaking countries, who learn english, use words like that all the time. That's because at school they only teach us the formal /official english, it actually sucks because we know so many elegant words that are unknown even for the natives, but at the same time we don't understand half of what we're hearing because no one teaches us slang and common words. This song is written by Jimin with a help of RM. So that pretty much explains the words used in the lyrics. RM's english vocabulary is pretty impressive. I'm so happy you liked his voice. As for the hair....don't get use to it. They change hair colors almost one a month...

danyah mohammed Ummm no lol. Firstly he’s not my bias but I do love our mochi. I would be so happy for him if he were to date a girl. But what you are doing is basically spreading rumors. He wouldn’t lie about something so serious because this song means a lot to him and ARMY. It’s actually insulting for you to think that he’s lying about a girl. I agree with the extra layers of detail that Jimin put into singing!! The way that he sings, had always been by adding that edgy layer to “connect” the notes together or to start it with a nice twist! I think because he has great great great insecurities with his own voice, he always practices and practices and finds the way that he could be able to execute it better and that is why I can see that as compared from debut to now, these 5years he had improved greatly not just in terms of singing but how he adds this little tiny details that people normally overlook but without it, the whole melody would sound less interesting! I really hope he watches your video (that is if he understands xD) and I really want him to know that he’s been growing a lot and I hope he won’t be so hard on himself anymore though that’s definitely a hurdle he has to go through himself :( thank you so much for your BTS reactions! He is well known for his small hands and tiny pinkies so it makes the lyrics even that more endearing to his fans. He wrote this song himself with a little help from RM and their producing team, and was meant to be a message to himself primarily (we think because he has a habit of beating himself up for not being better than he already is) but also as a source of hope and encouragement for the fans. LOVE this song. Absolutely adore his voice. Breaking records everywhere including most listens in the first 24 hours ever. Thanks again.

Jimin wrote this song himself. The producer, Slow Rabbit, said that he'd been working on it since April and constantly rewriting the melody over and over. The song is both for himself and Army, telling that you sometimes have to be your own source of happiness and strength, building on the self-love BTS has been presenting. He worked really hard on this and I really wish e would hear what you said about his singing. About the hair colors, he was pink last week and now he's purple so yeah 😂
