The song means so much to me. I got “be your light” tattooed on my arm to remind me (and others) to make sure to also be your own light. Jimin made this song about himself and wrote it to himself to be his own light cus he has been struggling with his self image a lot in the past and I respect him so much for this.

I love their songs because they are so poetic. They talk about love and feelings in a way which is so different from western artists. Love this song! I know the lyrics are always translated as "be your night," but I love thinking of it as "be your knight" - as in, you don't need to wait for someone to rescue you by being your "knight in shining armour." Love youself, save yourself, be yourself. Shine on! ^_^
