Jimin just broke Drake's record of highest streaming number in 24 hours on Soundcloud. Drake's was 4.9M while Jimin got 8.5M. Now, it's more than 15M. Jimin deserves this. He worked hard for this song and he worried too. I am so glad everything paid off 😊😊😊

This is his first self composed and written track outside of bts. he has other two solo tracks but they're under BTS' name and inside BTS' album so... no quite the same. This is indeed major and deserves congratulations, he's doing his own thing for the first time. Jimin by Jimin for Jimin.

Listen to it with headphones on. Those “oh’s” in the middle portion travel from your right ear to your left. Its one of my favorite parts!

ATTENTION ARMY and the lovely Rebecca I can proudly announce that Sound Cloud has confirmed that Jimin's Promise has broken the record of number stream numbers for a song in 24 hours. Promise is now the most streamed song on Sound Cloud overtaking Drake's position. This is amazing since the song is free therefore had no promotion and is a gift to army; Congrats Jimin and congrats army and happy new year Rebecca.

The message of this song is towards ARMY I believe. He talks about how his supporters always put him and the rest of BTS before themselves, and how we should think about ourselves a bit more. Basically “I want you to be your light” means that he wants us to loves ourselves just as much as we love them. Their current topic is focused more on self love and giving yourself attention rather than spending your love on someone who isn’t able or chooses not to give you the same love or amount of love. I really do love their songs, so I’m glad that people are giving them a chance at this time. I’m not sure if this was his purpose to write this song but it’s just a theory :)

Angelina X Rose i think this song about a couple. The girl in love with someone else so the boy see she doesn't happy with this relationship, even if the boy still love her he let her go, so they broke up. See the part 'I want you be your light, babe you should be your light' he say the girl must be the light itself he want the girl to be independent. And 'You're hurt cause you are mine' i think that's not mean the boy hurt the girl, but the girl not happy with this relationship. Sure it's a theory too

I love his breathy voice on this song. I feel like this song describes Jimin perfectly- soft, calming... I just love this

I get why it would be hard for members of other bands to release solo songs but at least for the members of BTS the other members are VERY supportive of them releasing solo songs and albums. When they film solo MVs they go to the filming to support them a lot of the time. Sorry just wanted to say that because I find it something interesting about BTS.

hey lovely rebecca, thank you for reacting to Jimin’s song 💛 Jimin released Promise on 31st of December as a gift to his fans. but he also tweeted that he wrote the song for himself and i find it incredible amazing. he is perfectionist and he himself admits most of the time he ia hard on himself when it comes to work and he said he had dark days the past year where he would drown in his own thoughts and would have sleepless nights.. but now he is in a better state and wants to let himself more and wants to believe in himself. so the lyrics like “ i want you you to be your light, you should be your light/ i want you to be your night so you can be honest with yourself you can hurt less and smile more, let’s pinky promise you won’t throw yourself away” becomes so emotional because actually he is talking to himself. such a beautiful way to motivate yourself and also people around you. i am so proud of him 💛 i also wanted to let you know 🤗

This song, when it released, made me fall in love with Jimin even more. “Promise” became my healing song when I’d have a mental breakdown, anxiety, and feel down. It makes me relax.

Hahahahaha that intro! Really hard not to get copyright with Kpop band. Mnet and MBC give copyright all the time, while anything from KBS Kpop, KBS World TV, etc, don't (or if they do just ask them to remove it and they will). So there a lot of Kpop band live performance without copyright u just need to know which channel they are on. I really wish that reactors would help each other more in sharing which reaction they got vs didn't got a copyright claim. I feel weird asking reactors all the time in their comment section about a particular video. And don't be scare to dispute every single copyright claim u get. Most claim are automatic and against reuse, but some are reactors friendly ur video sometime just get caught up in their automatic detection. I dispute every single video that got claim and win more then you would think and u have nothing to lose i've never got a strike after disputing. Don't bother disputing manually claim video tho, manually mean they saw ur video so u have no chance. Really, reactors need to start a sub-reddit where we can share list of copyright vs non-copyright reaction. That would be a lot less time consuming for everyone.

I can assure u 100% that youtube does not give neither claim or strike. KZread have no say in copyright. Copyright claim and strike come from owner of the video or someone who pretend to be owner. Then if u dispute the copyright it's not youtube that give final verdict it's the owner who again decide based on their own criteria. I am reactor... I know this. While true that Japanese stuff give strike a lot, while Korean mostly give claim, a claim is really bad because all the money made from ads will go to them, and the reactor will make $0. So they don't mind reactors reacting but they steal reactors ads money. Copyright strike = video remove from youtube and u get a strike, after a few strike u are ban from youtube. Copyright claim = you can still react but owner is claiming ads revenue. There is not a single Korean MV that do not give a copyright claim, I can assure you of that. Everything from BigHit channel will give u a copyright claim, u can react, but make $0. If you try to be youtubers full time u need to avoid these channel. MBC in Korea also give copyright claim all the time. KBS kpop channel and KBS World TV don't give copyright. Ask any reactor if u don't believe me, they will all tell you the same thing about MV video. They get claim 100% of the time. Some reactors still react to grow their subs base.

I love this song so much. Jimin’s voice is so sweet and soothing. All those little things he does with his voice made the song really beautiful. Also I think, the use of only guitar as instrument, makes his voice stand out and intimate. I listen to Promise, I imagine Jimin singing it in a campfire 😍😂

it was probably scary for jimin to put out his first solo self composed, co-written non-album song out but for a different reason. not because of how we used in western bands where solo work means disbandment or bad relationship, bts's members are always collabing with different artists and 3 of them even have their solo mixtapes but because he's doing it alone and before he was very self concious about his voice and because the song is personal for him

I really love BTS with all of my heart. Looking at your playlist of the different songs you reacted to, there is 2 that i know you would like. Magic Shop and the 2! 3! Performance. Magic Shop is used as a place for Army to be happy. They say in the song (based off of the lyrics ive seen) is that they will comfort you and help you be happy at your worst times. There is no music video but you could look at the performance. 2! 3! is a song specifically for Army. In the performance, at the end of the song Army sings by themselves while BTS listen. Its really touching seeing how much Army loves BTS.

Kaylyn Keays she is a Stan you need to do your research properly. Both “Serendipity” and “Lie” were released under a bts album. “Lie” was released in the “Wings” album and “Serendipity” was released in the “Love Yourself Answer” album.

Those two songs aren't technically solo songs, considering he didn't write, produce or compose them and they were part of albums. This song is an actual solo because he composed the song and wrote it partly. ☺️
