Linkin Park, the trailblazing American rock band formed in 1996, seamlessly blends alternative rock, nu-metal, and electronic music, capturing global acclaim with their diamond-certified debut album 'Hybrid Theory.' Comprising talents like Mike Shinoda, Brad Delson, and the late Chester Bennington, their emotionally charged lyrics and innovative sound have defined a generation. With over 70 million albums sold worldwide, hits like 'In the End' and 'Crawling,' and two Grammy Awards under their belt, Linkin Park's legacy extends beyond music to significant philanthropic efforts, particularly through their Music for Relief program. The band's enduring influence and diverse discography continue to resonate with fans across the globe, cementing their status as one of the most influential rock bands of the 2000s
"Given Up," a standout track from Linkin Park's third studio album, "Minutes to Midnight," showcases the band's raw energy and emotional depth. Released in 2007, this powerful song exemplifies Linkin Park's venture into a more alternative rock sound, departing from their earlier nu-metal influences. Renowned for Chester Bennington's intense vocal performance, including a breathtaking 17-second scream, "Given Up" captures the essence of frustration and defiance. The song's compelling lyrics, combined with its dynamic composition, resonate deeply with fans, making it a staple in the band's live performances and a highlight of their diverse discography. "Given Up" remains a testament to Linkin Park's innovative approach to music and their ability to connect with listeners on a profound level.

Can you please react to 2024 Eurovision Portugal🇵🇹? Grito is Scream in English, and Grito not appear in the lyrics.. Grito is the scream in the climax of the song, when she liberates from the demons represented by the dancers. It is not commercial. A masterpiece. No one in the Eurovision compares to this.🇵🇹 "Ainda arde".. means "still burns", the flame that she still has inside of her. kzread.info/dash/bejne/aaFmpsp9mK2aXZs.htmlsi=a8WRXKPz9TPV3QiO
Holy shit. FINALLY.

When it comes to reactions I prefer songs that aren't as popular/aren't trending. (Although I understand from a youtuber's perspective riding the trends is the way to make money.) With that said Chester and Given Up deserves all of the attention. I honestly don't know if we'll ever have an artist like him again. He's truly one of a kind.
To paraphrase Elizabeth (The Charismatic Voice): his voice is the human condition.
Chester gave a voice to the pain, like nobody else could. I'm in my 50's, and "Numb" hits me square in the feels, every time. That song helped me deal with some hurt that I'd been xarrying for years.
The AOL live session when this first came out, he does the entire 17 seconds. As well as a few other live performances. ☕🐝🇺🇸

I struggle keeping a single tone for 17 seconds (and I need a lot of air in my lungs). Imagine this madlad screaming THIS after having only one or two seconds to breathe after the "MY MISERY" scream, and then he has only a few more seconds to breathe afterwards and keep on with the chorus. THOSE LUNGS GODDAMMIT, THOSE LUNGS!!!
@CottidaeSEA
9 күн бұрын
I used to have pretty crazy lung capacity, could hold a clear note for at least half a minute even multiple times in succession and I could exhale for almost two minutes if doing it in a controlled manner. This is still unthinkable to me. Chester was just extremely skilled. He got so much power out of his voice even when he kept things fairly low volume.
The performance from Chester that always gets me is the Live in Texas standalone video for A Place For My Head. The introductory scream is indescribably intense.
Words cannot describe what that man (and band) did for my life, followed through my teens into my 20s before the sad loss of Chester.
When I get caught in my own head this song usually helps bring me out
Oh yeeeees, I was waiting for you to react to "Given up" 🥳❤ RIP Chester, you're terribly missed down here 😢
Their songs his voice always get me... After his death there are certain songs that I cannot listen anymore without crying my eyes out every time...
2007: this shit rocks bro *headbangs* now: I can't even get through the song without bursting into tears (╥_╥)
Chester explained in an interview that singing isn't hurting for his throat but for his head. To make distortion, you need to apply a lot of pressure plus an incredible work for breathing. That's why your blood pressure raise like you're trying to lift heavy weights. Cheers from France PS: I need you to know you have the cutest smile of KZread!
I love that you chose the first live performence I bought on DVD/CD. ❤️ I love this show.
Wow, I can tell this one was a passion project for you, Beth. Excellent job concentrating on the technique when it's obviously subject matter and an artist who cuts deep and very personally. I'm sure fans and maybe even people associated with the band are very appreciative of your efforts here. I know I am.
Thanks Beth I have watched many of your videos and really appreciate your musical knowledge. You are one of my favorite reactionary persons and this one really hit home as my best friend suffers from severe depression with suicidal thoughts everyday. Also I just wanted to say what an amazing music artist you are and wish you nothing but the Best in your career. The world needs music more than ever and I can see you being a big part of the solution. ROCK ON! Brian The Dolphin Man
Great reaction! 😭 Now off to buy your album. 😁
Love the music you bring to the table and your reactions are like 🍒s on top keep up the outstanding work darlin 👍

Thank you so much 😁
So sad..and painful to watch. Being a few generations ahead, we honestly didn't have music emoting self-pain. We had social anger, discomfort and pain...but not the inner pain one feels from depression or emotional scars. Even sadder when you think that he committed suicide not long after. 😢
Having seen them live, still hurts me knowing I will never see them again.
He was incredible, omg
i love this music, it's so sad and powerful that same time!
If I remember correctly, Chester couldn't do that 17-second scream anymore because his vocal cords couldn't handle it anymore. I think I once read something like this that came up during a medical examination.

The 17 second scream is epic! RIP Chester.
Great chanell !!Chester didn’t always do the 17 seconds live, maybe to save his voice or by choice,in fact he did it several times live , particularly at the concert in san antonio in 2007 or 2008 .he did the 17 seconds twice in the same live in , given up and at the beginning of , from the inside. it was crazy.
I love how empathetic she is toward Chester.
I think it's amazing to hear someone describe how they physically feel his voice, because I really do too. It strikes me just about between my shoulderblades, like it's trying to get in, and sometimes it's almost unpleasant. I think it's because, like you said, some of his sounds are so primal and emotional, it triggers a response. I also often wish I could hug him, because he awakens so much compassion in me. It really was something, how authentic his voice was ❤ Thank you for sharing your insights! It's deeply fascinating, and you do it in such a way as can be understood by people who aren't singers, or even musicians. Well done! This might seem an odd suggestion, but I'm really curious about what you'd think of some of Chester's earliest work. During his late teens/earliest twenties, he was in a band called Grey Daze. They released two albums, Wake Me and No Sun Today. They had a very grungy sound, and Chester's singing is quite different there. Sadly no live recordings with decent audio. The band remade many songs after Chester's passing, but for the most part, I prefer their old ones. If you'd be interested, I think it would be fascinating, but I get if it's not "popular enough" to get the views needed to make a video. Thank you once again, I hope to see more analysis of his vocals ❤
YES!!! Great to see a Linkin park live performance react. Rest in peace Chester. Can relate so much to this tune personally. Thank you Beth for doing this react.
I dont know why i was fine the entire video until the end, and some emotion started welling up. A one of a kind talent lost to his own inner struggle. Live on through the music Chester 🙏
The best part of this video (and I haven't gotten there yet) is waiting for the scream, and if you know the song you know what I mean :)
I've loved Linkin Park since like 2000 or something. Nearly every song by them hits differently partly because of the struggles I've been through and mostly because Chester was going through a lot, unknown to a lot of people. The lyrics have such a deeper meaning now. Love them.
We lost one the greatest way too early. R.i.p Chester
I don't know if you have reacted to QWERTY live Summer Sonic 2006 but if you haven't then you should react to QWERTY live Summer Sonic 2006. It really shows Chester's ability to switch back and forth between screaming and clean vocals. For Chester this was just a part in how he delt with his feelings in a healthier manner especially after going to rehab. For Chester the music is one of the things that helped him live as long as he did. Chester wore his heart on his sleeve and was very open with the fans about his struggles in life. He felt if he shared what he was dealing with then he maybe able to help someone else to not feel alone in their struggles with life. Chester had a bad childhood starting at the age of 7 years old.
I miss so much chester and cornell, damn its always hard do listen they music.
thank you... Chester
Great reaction amazing talent of a man and amazing band also he does do the full 17 second scream live just not this video
Amazing reaction to a very emotional song....
When Google throws LP into my playlist, it always hurts
sheck out linkin park a place for my head live in texas that is just an amazing performance.
I can feel you miss him so much... WE ALL ARE... 🥺🥺🥺
Un vídeo muy explosivo la música si que explosiva bien por tus diferentes estilos de reaccionar bien Beth 💥💥💥💥💥👏👏🍀🍀
Just want to point out that not in all live performances Chester splits up the scream, he does the full scream in some.
I highly recommend people to listen his one of old albums called 'No Sun Today'. He was with a group called Grey Daze. One of his best works.

I hardly ever see mention that band and it’s too bad as it was some great work by him. For me, Dead by Sunrise was even better. His vocal range is amazing
G O A T❤
I love chester, I Miss him so much, I'm sad to know that all this lyrics were completely tru and we didn't notice until he left, but I'm also grateful for being able to live through the LP era :') he's just immortal, timeless, such a legend.
I remember seeing for the. first time if I remember correctly it was chiodos, coheed and Cambria, buck cherry, and man what a show, got to see him again for the project revolution tour where they sang hunger strike with Chris Cornell. We also need to remember that alot of the songs are also written by Mike Shinoda even some of the heavier lyrical songs chester of course was one hell of a singer, and knew how to bring his own experiences and just take the song to another level.
💔 We still miss you Chester 💔 🤘 Forever a Legend 🤘
Incrível como eu sempre me arrepio com Given Up. A entrega dele nesse show, principalmente, passa de fantástica a preocupante, pois sabemos que ele vivia suas letras. Depois que Chester se foi, ouvir LP se tornou muito mais intenso para mim.
I loved Linkin Park when they came on the scene, still do! Took my oldest daughter to one of their concerts on her 16th birthday, and she became an immediate fan also! Man, how many of us just sat back and "rocked out" to the music - meanwhile, the lyrics, in hindsight, seemed to be a plea for help?! Chester, we all miss you! Wish we could of picked up earlier on the demons you battled... and lent a hand. Peace to all!

@marcgustafson6015 I felt it in my heart when he died. It was weird because even though Three Days Grace was my #1 band for a long time when Adam was the lead singer for them (and still like them now even with Matt), I still felt this loss and real sadness when Chester died.
Please check out his work with Grey Daze, Dead by Sunrise, Kings of Chaos and Camp Freddy. His voice was phenomenal and so versatile ❤
❤
Dax Riggs is also an amazing singer, its kind of a challenge to react to Acid Bath songs but Agents of Oblivion (Dax's band after AB) is definitely worth checking out as well
❤❤❤
Beth please react to Do They Know its Christmas in live aid 1985, freddie Mercury, paul mcartney, George Michael, bono in the Stadium.. incredible
If you want to really hear how he can switch between scream and clear voice you should react to Qwerty live Summer Sonic 2006❤️
RIP Chester 🙏
Hi all! I wanted to share a folk-metal band from Ukraine called Geneza (ua: "Ґенеза"), that takes Ukrainian folk songs and makes them metal. They have some unique traditional instruments in some of their song as well, e.x. Sopilka (ua: "Сопілка"). For now, they only have 1 album Obrii (ua: "Обрій") and a single, they are all great. Happy listening!
Ian Curtis, another tragic loss who showed his feelings of anxiety, isolation and loss through the complex lyrics of his songs. The eternal from Joy Divisions' Closer album is cold, beautiful and just heart breaking.

Coming from a Joy Division fan, vocally, there's nothing much to analyze Ian Curtis. They can only be analyzed with regard to their overall music.
We need to see you reacting to the AOL Sessions live version of this song! He adds fry to the end of the high pitched scream (just like in the studio version) and also hits the 17 sec scream LIVE!!!!!
Thanks For the video You reacted to the song of The Outfield - Your Love I think you should react to other favorite song The Outfield - All The Love in The World.
It's hard to watch him perform this song now
The best live performance of this song is the one on AOL sessions
Fun fact: he sometimes did those 17 seconds in live
Have you ever reacted to any Amon Amarth?
Hello Beth here I am again, to ask for a review of the song Deo Vero, by Guilherme de Sá, a Brazilian Rock singer
Thank you for this Also, can you please react to "idontwannabeyouanymore" by Catie Turner (Postmodern Jukebox cover)
Got a request. You have to react to Nick Thurl Mavromatis' new song, it's mind-blowing!
i feel the pain in tje song

Chester never needed much if any studio editing. The concert was the same as the album because he really was that talented and it never mattered how many times he performed a song. The emotion was just as raw the last time as it was the first.
U wanna see Chester’s true “switch” genius, watch QWERTY live from Japan!!!
Wow never had noticed, you never reviewed Lamb - Gabriel.... 😮😮😮
