    Chester actually had a split vocal cord which allowed him to have three different voice sounds within one voice. Chester could sing any song he wanted to all because of his vocal range. He did a cover of Adele's song Rolling in the Deep in 2011 at the ITunes Festival and he did it better than Adele herself at least in my opinion. If you want to hear a darker sound to Chester's voice then listen to System from the Queen of the Damned soundtrack. Jonathan Davis wrote the song but couldn't sing it on the soundtrack because his record label said no at the last minute. So he asked some of his friends who all have record contracts with Warner Brothers records to record the songs for him on the soundtrack. Chester also had his own band separate from Linkin Park called Dead By Sunrise. The band was his second outlet for his music that didn't work for Linkin Park. Here are my 4 favorite songs from Dead by Sunrise and they are Let Down, Crawl Back In, Walking in Circles, and Condemned. You should watch Given Up live AOL sessions even if you don't do a reaction video for it. It has the full 17 second scream and it shows more of Mike during the performance. Another song You might want to react to is Points of Authority live in Milton Keynes (same concert as this one). It has Mike rapping parts of 2 of his songs from his side project called Fort Minor.

    @BandHousePodcast I got the inflection of what you guys meant his act on the stage he knew how to control his voice chester practiced a lot and idk another singer who can do given up like he did without it taking everything he made it seem effortless. The hybrid theory lead can do the scream but even he's throwing some of the lines before to the audience which is great to be involved bc even chester would some but he has to to be ready for that last part of the song that just absolutely takes 100% to do. You're right if you're starting out DO NOT try to do what chester does you'll destroy your voice box

    I never paid much attention to Linkin Park during their heyday. As an old lady, I thought they looked like one of those "Justin Timberlake boy bands", LOL, so I didn't bother listening. I think the first song of theirs that caught my attention was "New Divide", but not enough attention for me to actually take a closer look at the rest of their catalogue. So this was interesting to watch. Definitely an amazing vocalist!

    Things guys don't get about screaming, even with Chester, is that he is not shooting for high notes. This is called fry screaming, the note that everyone hears, that appears high is a subharmonic, he is not shooting for a high note at all. When you grasp the fry scream technique you will understand that the high note is just a matter of pushing a little more which makes your false chords produce all kinds of noices and just the one that is heard the most is obviously the highest one. What I am trying to say is, when you practice that scream in particular, DO NOT THINK THAT IT IS FOUND IN THE SAME PLACE AS YOUR HIGH NOTES, YOU WILL FAIL EVERY TIME. For me i find that holding a high clean note is far more intense than screaming ( that is the key). Try to push super hard and hold a scream and you will ultimately fail every time. YOU SHOULD THINK OF IT AS A RELAXATION PLACE IN YOUR VOICE, NOT A PLACE WHERE YOU SHOULD BE PUSHING YOUR ABSOLUTE MAX INTENSITY.

  • @stefanpetrov5489

    @stefanpetrov5489

    10 ай бұрын

    P.S. The only person on youtube that explains it somewhat properly is Chris Liepe, even he doesnt get it fully correct, but at least he understands that it should be a place to relax, not pushing max intensity.

    The lyrics to this song was written by Chester just after he got out of rehab in 2005 or 2006. This song is about how he felt during and after his divorce from his first wife Samantha. This is just 1 of about 10 songs he wrote during that time in his life. The music is how he dealt with his feelings in a more healthy way than turning back to the drugs. Chester lived as long as he did was because he had the music a way to let his feelings out in a healthy way.

I also realize that I can listen to the piece without interruption on my MP3 player. I'm currently laid up with a broken leg and since I've officially driven my family crazy this week, apparently the other night it was the internet's turn to feel my wrath lol. My apologies if I came across as being rude, though I do stand by my original comments; I still don't believe that stopping every few seconds on the original listen is necessary or beneficial, even on a reaction video. Y'all have a wonderful night!
