The thing about Chester was, it wasn't just his technical ability that was on display. His voice had a very unique personality. Whether he was belting out a scream, or whispering. He had this underlying fragile, almost angealic tone. He had a vunerability to him that could touch you right to your core. There are other amazing singers, ones that have even better ability than Chester even. But I can't think of any other singer that had that vunerable quality, but could make it sound strong.

Sing stories about vulnerability with strong voice. Chester's voice perfectly fit the meaning of LP soldier. Also like LP's diverse music genres, he displays multiple possibilities of singing. LP always try to do the different. It is terrific and I really enjoy and appreciate all the changes!

this is exactly it and also why I prefer nu-metal screamers over deathcore, speedcore whatever stuff, the nu-metal screams are so unique and full of the singers personality which make them "brutal" due to the emotional honesty while bands like lorna shore and stuff just go for pure tehcnique and all sound the same, just trying one up each other who can make more bizarre sounds in a track but that's not brutal to me that's just funny. Chester put his heart in his screams and still sounding like himself

Linkin Park wrote this song 3 days before leaving for Japan, a quick festival tour they did in the middle of writing for their 3rd album. The lyrics were finished on the flight over to Japan! This is only the second time it was played live (the first being the night before in Osaka). I was in Japan to see them play three times and this song was amazing, the energy was so good and by the third show I was singing along! Such amazing memories for me!

When this concert happened What I've done wasn't out yet. I don't know if What I've Done was even written yet. They were actually still recording the Minutes to Midnight album. Minutes to Midnight didn't come out till 2007. Mike and Chester actually wrote this song's lyrics on the plane to Japan where this concert was. Their big songs at that point were Faint, In the End, Numb, One Step Closer, Points of Authority, Breaking the Habit, Somewhere I Belong, and Papercut. When this concert happened they only had 2 Studio albums out with one remix album. They also had the album Collision Course out that they did with Jay Z. This song wasn't on the Minutes to Midnight album. It was only released on a special album that is only released in their fan club LP Underground.

Chester actually performed with Mike on the song Where did you go since the female performer wasn't able to make it for the concert in Japan.

This song was a demo they made and decided to play at this festival last minute. It was available along with the live version from Tokyo and a few other songs on a LP Underground CD from 2006 right before MTM dropped. So we were all used to Meteora LP during this, imagine 12 year old me when this dropped. My mind was blown. LP 1999 - forever.

One of their songs that doesn't sound like a Linkin Park song is My December. It is a soft song that Mike Shinoda wrote on their tour bus on the way to Nashville Tennessee to record it for a rock Christmas cd with quite a few different artists. It is perfect to listen to when getting ready for bed. If you want some really heavy Linkin Park songs listen to the Hunting Party album. It is a heavy rock album that did because that is they all wanted to hear at that time. Linkin Park is their own genre of music because they don't fit into any one genre of music. Another good band to listen to is Dead By Sunrise. It is a rock band that has a connection to Linkin Park. I won't say what the connection is to keep it a surprise. Here is 4 of my favorite songs from Dead by Sunrise and they are Let Down, Crawl Back In, Walking in Circles, and Condemned. They only released 1 album as a band.

This song was originally on a LPU (Linkin Park Underground) cd. It was between Meteora and Minutes to Midnight. This wasn't that far into their career. Tbh it's pretty early into their career and on like the 3rd fan record for their LPU members cause even after Minutes to Midnight they had 4 more commercially successful records.

I definitely recommend you check out The Catalyst and Blackout. Both are from their 2010 album A Thousand Suns, which was their most experimental album. Both feature Mike and Chester singing, while The Catalyst also has a good amount of gang vocals. They were both performed at Madison Square Garden in 2010, and both just show how wide Chester's vocal range was. I doubt you'll get many others recommending Blackout, as it is quite a deep cut, but I do think you guys would be interested in it as it's one of the first songs they did without any guitars whatsoever. Chester also does a bit of a sing-rap too

This late in their career? Minutes to Midnight was the 3rd album before doing a complete change in sound for the proceeding album and the song QWERTY was released on an LPUnderground cd between Meteora and Minutes to Midnight and was included if I'm not mistaken on the Deluxe and international releases of Minutes to Midnight. There's songs from Living Party and The Hunting Party released after this that have some very heavy songs and are very under rated in their discography.

If you guys listen to their discography, Mike puts his vocals (toned down, distorted, or just to add accent and tone). Like Throughout the verse of New Divide Mike is singing along in the background. But in songs like Given Up, Mike won't sing along but add accents in the end of every line (eg 'AND NO ONE CARES' in the second verse). He is doing the same thing here. Screaming Lies and Rice can sound similar, but Mike just saying the word Lies adds that clarity to that word in live setting.

This song was later released as Behind Your Lies, it appeared on an LP Underground record and I think maybe on the deluxe version of Minutes to Midnight as a bonus track. Awesome song, i think it was fair to not put it on the album as it aounds quite different, but by itaelf its such a cool song! That switch up from screaming to hitting those high notes back and forth, only Chester 🥲 love the drums on this track too!

Thank you for reacting to this song! Have you heard LP's song And One? It's apparently the first song they made with Chester, and there's an awesome live performance of it with some, for Chester in LP, unusual singing. I really like that one, really fun to see him sing like that. Also, have you heard Chester's previous band Grey Daze? I really like their old stuff, but some of the remakes they did of old songs with Chester's vocals are good too.

love the reaction! More Linkin Park plz🙏 Faint live rock am ring 2007 is awesome. I'd also like to recommend Faint Live Earth Japan 2007. For me, love this version more 🖤 (also love the interaction between Mike and Chester at the end of the video)

I still came not to a conclusion if this is the best performance of a song in live from Linkin Park or if Faint Live Rock am Ring on 2007 after 2:45 was better. Can someone help me to come to a conclusion?
