    @@ArmantoAlex13 I do think that Simone has one of the best wolf turns. But she is more inconsistent (specially on the third turn) and because of her more powerful style it doesn’t look so fluid to me, like Urazova’s does

    100% class and effortlessness, new fav after Aliya. Fell on beam, 2x out on floor and still took the Silver. Can’t wait to see her hit.

    Her ballet training shows throughout all her performances. This is what classic gymnastics should look like. Note the carriage of her arms in the ballet position of a dancer. She makes her wolf turns look effortless. Vladislava shows a great turnout when she points her toes. Not feet turned inward like some of the best power tumblers and vaulters often do. I love watching her turns and 180 degree leaps. she has great flexibility and makes it look effortless. Her tumbling passes are just as difficult as the others, but by doing them a second slower, they are exacting and you can enjoy them longer! I really look forward to see her compete in the all around competition. She is the full package in the style of Ludmilla Tourischeva.

    I just love this gymnast. The way she holds her shapes, her extension and the way she gives herself time to make everything she does beautiful.

    Finally, someone who does Wolf turns properly. There should be deductions if knees aren’t touching during the rotation and another deduction if there’s arm waiving so gymnasts are forced to do them correctly.

    The arm waiving is already being deducted but I do agree that not keeping the knees together should be a deduction because it will encourage gymnast to do wolf turns in the correct position and it will also help them find their centre of balance better

    I think gymnasts will just do them even worse with those restrictions. All of them are already looking really tensed up. This here looks effortless.

    How is that a possibility though? Looking at her difficulty, a lot of other gymnasts have higher difficulty and good execution.

    @@adamtak3128 you'd know better than me, I guess.. Bars are slippery, though. Routines have to be hit & Urazova is quite consistent on UB at least. No one thought Leppenec would be Olympic champion, but she is 🤷‍♂️.

    Yea I think she performed much better in Tokyo yesterday. Too bad she didn't win a medal. All commentators from my TV station thought she was underscored on the bar. :(

    The battle between Urazova and Melnikova for the AA final in Tokyo will be as interesting as Suni/other americans! I'm so excited to see what happens!

    Melnikova wont be in the All-around if Listunova hits, Melnikova is the weakest amongst the three AA russians, it will be an Uzarova-Listunova battle. She has a chance to qualify in floor finals and beam along if Gerasimova doesnt hit

    @@ragansmithgymnastics7782 yeah. Listunova has more upgrades and thats scary to think. I think battle for russia no2 is Urazova vs Melnikova. Their streghth are so similar as well. Bars and Floor are their top 2 events.

    Her handstands are far better than before. It doesn't really matter in the current code anyway as long as they reach a certain angle.

    Gotta say. These seniors are good but wow...the more time goes on the more I realize we were really blessed with Aliya and Komova. Not sure when we will see as strong of all-arounders again in the Russian program.

    Is it me or she's like Komova and Khorki? She's quite tall and very elegant. And her wolf turns are amazing. I just hope she stays healthy bc she's capable of upgrading in every apparatus. Wishing her the best of luck, and looking forward to seeing her progress.

    I was going to say she reminds me of Svetlana Bogunskia (sp?) was when she was on the Soviet Union/Unified Team. She has the elegance and grace like the Soviet gymnasts did.

    Big deal. Simone bounces OOB on FX and still wins gold. I gave up worrying about stuck landings and OOB after that.

    As beautiful as the Russian gymnasts are, I am afraid they won't be able to compete against the difficulty of the U.S. gymnasts. These vaults and floor routines look too simple, but nice to see the grace and artistry.

    after watching so much u.s. gymnastics, other country's elite cups almost seem like NCAA to me. some u.s. elite gymnasts are just so extreme that it makes all of these inhuman athletes seem normal. obviously they aren't.
