And set a new one with 40 including the hit-off round. By the end: Shattered the overall HR record by 30! Sorry Alonso, but your trophy doesn’t really matter.

The real Million dollar man.....i loved the derby this year.....but they have to do something about that.....changed something so that there can be a true winner by total hr's....this kid had the greatest performance EVER....and then lose.....that always happens. But great job to everyone in this derby lineup for bringing back magic to the derby.....i watched every pitch until it finished dam near midnight...lol

I don't like this time-limit format. You don't get to enjoy the entire flight of the ball before they're swinging for the next one. Plus it definitely favors the younger players as it seems pretty hard on the body. I'm surprised no one's been injured yet.

Why keep comparing to old HR Derbys with different rules? Vlad Jr would have only had like 8 in this round if playing by those rules (10 swings not resulting in HR and you're done).

This taking nothing away from anybody, but it's ridiculous to compare numbers between two different Home Run Derbies. If Vlad Sr. and Vlad Jr were using the same rules as Vlad Sr did in 2007, round one would be: Vlad Sr: 5 Vlad Jr: 7 Vlad Jr. Obviously outpaced his father, but it isn't anything close to what you'd expect when you hear them go on and on about how many more Jr. had. It's kind of insulting to even try to convince viewers that there is any way to compare players who played with different rules in place.

And WHAT IS THE point of MLB JUICING THE BALL AND ADMITTING IT IT DOESNT DO JUSTICE TO the PURE POWER HITTER

I almost think this was kinda setup for him to break the record? Or why did they all of a sudden not require him and other hitters to hit another baseball before the previous one has landed. I remember watching stanton hitting some high pop ups and the ump made the pitcher wait until they hit the ground. He was very serious about making the pitcher wait.
